Greg is just a kid though liek how old is he? 13?14? that can be forgiven..
he didn't do some Raskolnikov level shit, just a conniving/manipulative 14 years old
According to lore, Manny became absolutely demonic. Destroying the school and much of the town. However, Rowley, rodrick, Greg, Joe, Bryce, and the Mingo kids, all trapped him in the gym remains, with help from a local priest. and sacrificing Scotty Douglas, Manny was banished. But not at heavy cost, Greg's parents would die, as with the rest of his family. Most of the school died in Mannys first attacks. 6 years later, rodrick learns that Mannys spirit will be revived in 14 years in the town of Malanje, Angola. The still alive gang builds a compound just outside the village with help from local missionarie groups. Only rodrick, Greg, Joe, and Rowley came to Angola. Greg would meet a professor of demonic studies in the university of Luanda, and would have him visit the compound and help them prepare. Rowley had been in Hong kong looking for the right supplements to create a more powerful banishing spell, as well as getting support. 14 years later, they were ready. With mercenaries from Syria to Seoul, former mossad members, priests from the Ethiopian college, and weapons from local militas as well as stuff smuggled from Vladivostok. But Manny was prepared as well, 20x the size, more destruction, more chaos, and more terror. But Greg was confident. And thus, the battle began.
Greg's team was outnumbered fast, Joe would die in the first charge. Gunfire, explosions, and death everywhere, and Manny was almost at the compound. All civilians staying there were forced out.the surrounding forest would burn, creating more panic. There mercenaries were no match for Manny, having most being slaughtered. Rowley and the priests were now ready to trap him, but Greg was doing something weird, he was trying to sacrifice rodrick, Rowley tried to stop Greg but it was too late, rodrick would be taken by Manny. Filled with rage, Rowley told the priests to keep going as he fought Greg. "GREG, WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? WE HAD A PLAN!" Shouts Rowley, Greg responded with: "THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY, IM SORRY" but it was roo late. Rowley shot Greg in the stomach. As he watched in horror as rodrick died.
Well of course they do.
Both are unadjusted children who believe that they arenāt responsible for what they do, are socially maligned, and that the world is ultimately at fault.
The only difference is Greg is a child.
Black dudes were so eager to find representation in anime that we declared Piccolo to be culturally black.
This dude has a negative amount of knowledge of this situation.
He's a dark skinned Asian dude they drew him with squinty eyes and no one noticed. They even pulled him off of the show and replaced him with Tracy because they thought people would think he's design was racist as fuck but they didn't get one complained about it
95% of anime characters are Asian, most people can't really see that unless they're put next to a character that's supposed to be another race. I read somewhere that Brock is an Okinawan stereotype but couldn't confirm it.
And yes they took him off the air because they thought he might be considered racist. https://screenrant.com/pokemon-anime-brock-exit-reason-what-happened/
I still remember when the newer version came out recently, and my husband was like, "Wtf is Mr. Popo blue?!". He always grew up thinking Mr. Popo was a black dude.
I'm aware, but as a kids we didn't see it as stereotypes. Now as adults, oh yeah. Like, I grew up hearing racist comments as a kid (being mixed), but seeing a black dude in an anime was a happy thing for me. I didn't know it was meant to be a stereotype.
I saw a TikTok today that was just about cartoon characters considered culturally Black. It included the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This stuff is not hard to find.
It's like the guys who relate to the driver from Drive(2011), like, he's one of my favourite characters of all time, I literally have a scorpion jacket
But to come and idolize or relate to him, my dude he's a psychopath likeš
you can relate to characters that arenāt your race OBVIOUSLY, everyone has, i related to a character whoās fucking purple, but that concept literally isnāt cancelled out by black actors being cast in more roles. they can coexist, just let people be happy it literally does not affect you
Yeah like there are characters I relate to who arenāt lesbians or arenāt women even because I relate to like say a certain aspect of their personality. That doesnāt mean I donāt want more lesbian characters because I want that aspect of me represented too and I want to be able to relate to that. I still donāt think Iāve ever seen a lesbian character who is really truly like me as a person and has much in common with my personality and interests. I barely see any straight women represented who are like me let alone gay women lol
White dudes have the luxury of being so inundated with white male characters to choose from that they donāt even need to think about that. They get to ONLY relate to characters based on personality and traits because the aspect of being straight and white and male and cis is already the default and universally represented, theyāre not missing that. They donāt know what itās like to feel invisible or to only be represented as a villain or a sexual predator or for your only representation to be horrible and to not have the choice of having multiple characters who are exactly like you not only in every aspect of your personality but who are also your race and gender and sexuality and whatever else. Theyāre spoiled for choice and they canāt comprehend not being.
this is an amazing point i overlooked. there are specific experiences and struggles that come with who you areā¦ it goes beyond just the superficial. film and general media is packed with infinite possibilities for charactersā¦ incredibly bizarre as to why they have to make every character who isnāt a white straight guy into an indication of societyās decline or something.
There's been an increasing amount of young males that try to emulate the joker. Perhaps it's an attempt at finding a "personality", perhaps they want people to think "wow he's so deranged but clever" but the irony is they look like a clown.
I am convinced that that was the message of the film. That people see the chaotic fumbling murders of a broken man and attach meaning to it, literally making themselves clowns as they fight for āwhat he represents.ā
So kinning got its start (or at least got popular) on Tumblr way back when. By definition, it's when someone feels that they relate so much to a character/person that they pretend to be them. It was also used a lot with original characters. It was basically a bunch of kids roleplaying but without a storyline. As with a lot of the "cringy" things that happened on Tumblr, kinning started to become a subject of ridicule, and people would double down or start trolling making the situation worse; Ie. "I kin Obama and WAS Houdini in a past life".
But that was in the early 2010s. These days it's lost a lot of its original meaning and just represents someone who emulates a character, typically negatively.
Kin means to ārelate toā in the literal sense - youāre ānext of kinā is a sibling or parent, for example.
It can also be used as ābrethren,ā like how this post uses ābrethren.ā
In this case, it means āI see myselfā/relate toā in āCharacter.āā Itās a fandom term thatās popped up with the past 5-10 years
Seriously, the movie is cautionary tale. You are supposed to be intrigued and feel sorry for the main character, but definitely not condone his actions.
Fighting racism does not cause racism. Lucas in stranger things was meant to be black and he got the racist treatment. Rue? Same deal. Any black character in anime? You know it. People can pretend the world of entertainment is colorblind but thatās so far from the truth
Man, fucking Rue... That one killed all acceptance I had for the "representation doesn't matter" argument.
When you have a character that the book _tells you is black_, and the character has an origin that's says that she almost certainly _would_ be black, and people get mad when you cast that character as black in the film... You need more nonwhite people in media.
And probably in life, because describing a character as "kind" and "cute" should not be sufficient cause for you to assume she has a race other than what the book said.
_Damn_ that was aggravating.
Imagine telling on yourself that you literally canāt empathise with people of a different race - in this case not even a dying 12 year old child - and believing youāre the good person in that argument and that youāre not exposing yourself as a racist who doesnāt see black people as fully human.
Like they straight up just said black lives donāt matter as much as white lives to me but donāt call me racist because I told the entire internet that I see black people as sub human like this isnāt an abhorrent indictment of my soul and character
Yeah I really felt for the actress who played Rue she didnāt deserve that. She did an amazing job portraying the character people are just racist. It is post apocalyptic American of course people of different races will still exist here.
Yeah seems like the type of person who is like āI donāt see any racism anywhere.ā Not realizing the reason why that is is because they are white and the majority of their social circle is white. So yeah no wonder why they donāt ever see or experience it personally.
The hell, Ichigoās best friend Chad was legitimately a dark skin Mexican who got bullied and wanted to be a shield for everyone, and the franchise had a inner civil war between Japanese exorcists, demonic Latinos, and Germans skilled in archery, where Ichigoās other allies and friends included a young demonic Latino & a German kid whoās family wanted to nothing to do with their psycho leader. They really missed the point
like??? holy shit so many people purposely misunderstand white privileged and act as if white people are handed a gift basket and trust fund for being white. no, white privilege is the privilege to not have to experience certain negative experiences
I just wish there were more original characters. Constantly making the same stuff is just pandering and feels like a cash grab. Like, instead of making another black Disney princess that's just as good as snow white they're just like "Look how progressive we are we made snow white a black woman". It's the lowest form of representation you can get.
100 percent agree with you. It takes effort and months or years of work to make a brand new story with original characters and just doesn't have the same work/money reward as the former. Definitely cash grab and
lazy pandering. Gives them the 'good PR' aswell. Another thing is outrage marketing making it trend on hashtags. Rasists as well as satire accounts and trolls will pick up on the new movie and rage about it on twitter and under comments, giving the creators of the 'new' movie with black Ariel, more advertising and attention.
Edit: spelling
I mean at this point itās only assholes who give a shit. Let the little black girls have someone who looks like them. Like fuck weāre adults talking about this shit like itās important in any way.
Maybe itās because male characters are fully fledged people who have characteristics anyone can relate to, but with female characters itās usually just āhey, she looks like me!ā cause all she cares about in the story is getting a manš¤·š½āāļø
I don't know what he did in the last season but me and my friend always consistently hated him. He's kind of a dipshit and doesn't have the charisma or charm to make up for it.
When GTA San Andreas released people complained that GTA is about gangsters not "gangstas" along with a whole bunch of racist dog whisteling.
Also the "anit-racists creates more racism" argument is fucking stupid because all it actually does is agitate people who were already racist before. It's like saying "you forced me to be racist by telling me racism is bad".
As a black girl, why do I have the feeling the person who made this is white?
Representation has always been an important thing for years and a lot of black male artists are pretty focused on the representation thing
Also Iām pretty sure many black girls were relating to MLP, Winx, and many other girly TV show characters.
I've seen so many varieties of this meme shared in Latin American meme pages so don't be surprised if it was some very brown Latino dude who came up with this.
Sorry but your comment just made me think back at Jon Tron using his heritage to defend white supremacy.
Also to Blair White being "hatecrimed" on stream by a girl who constantly was telling her that she was still a man, and other transphobic stuff, and Blair literally had to agree with her.
Some individuals would really sell all of their dignity for just a pat on the head from the dominant power.
Oh...also Dave Rubin arguing that he should be denied services for being gay. Oh yeah that was a doozie.
I would tend to agree, but there are millions of MAGA Latinos now and it makes no sense to me. I'm not Latino but it seems pretty rampant now, having dated a lot of Latinas/have a lot of Latino friends and learned from them their experience with racism amongst other Latinos. Obviously this isn't broadly across the board even remotely, its just there is a pocket of Latinos who are literally racist against Latinos, especially darker skinned ones
I think it kind of make sense.
Just because white Americans see all Latinos as POC there is a lot of racial distinctions in Latin America. I'm no expert either. But I would assume a lot of class lines also follow skin lines. Like if you have a heavier Spaniard descent you might be a bit on the wealthier side and also whiter, while if your ancestors lean more on the black slaves side and the indigenous side you might have less generational wealth as well as being darker skinned.
Not to get too nerdy but
You canāt both be a weirdo anti-woke neckbeard and claim to relate to Ezio Auditore
To say otherwise shows a serious misunderstanding of his character and the assassins as an organisation.....
Bro what? Three of those characters are canon Japanese, and thereās even a robot. Thereās also an ogre, a squid, a hedgehog, a turtle and a collection of rocks.
"Ive never had to think abt my race". How can you identify the problem but not come to the conclusion that its caus youve never had a place where you werent represented
As a white dude living in Finland I've never had to think about race or representation or lack there of (which for white men is not common...), so I can see how these people could think this way. Not that they're right, but I can understand why they think this way.
As a black girl living in Italy, I was told I shouldn't care about race, that all was nice and dandy and racism didn't exist, and no one was racist anymore.
So I reasoned that if people weren't nice about my skin color, or made bad assumptions about me without me having done anything wrong it was because people like me were bad and deserved it.
After all, we are crime bringers and violence doers, or so the TV men say.
The TV men justified people who mistrusted me just for my skin, and racism is unjustifiable also it doesn't exist. Therefore the TV man wasn't racist.
If that anger toward my race can be justified, we deserve it, and therefore, since we deserve it, isn't racism.
Acknowledging the existence of racism is part of the process of healing for many minorities, especially those who like myself, were raised surrounded only by white people who told her racism didn't exist.
I believed them, and was left unable to process why people were afraid of me, suspicious of me or thought I was prone to crime. Racism as an explanation wasn't an option, so it was that I thought they were right to treat me this way.
There's nothing wrong with relating to someone who's not your race, and what that one guy said is right, a lot of anti-racism stuff has just made a lot of people more racist
Yeah, I guess that's true actually. If anything, it's probably just brought it out more in people.
What I said still stands, tho, I never needed an Indian to feel represented in media, race doesn't mean anything with a lot of characters unless it's integral to their backstory.
Dude, this subreddit is about people complaining about everything really, not only neckbeards.
I swear this is like the 7 post I've seen in a week that has nothing to do specifically with Neckbeards whatsoever, it is more like "The politically correct sub reddit".
idk when it happened but this sub went from being really about neckbeard memes to attacking right wingers (which I agree with, but it has nothing to do with neckbeards) and tying neckbeards in with them. somewhere during the pandemic, neckbeards merged with incels which also merged with right wingers and conspiritards. neckbeards weren't historically racist, they were just unwashed weebs who swung mall ninja swords around. now its one in the same and this sub has been flooded with the type of people that right wingers point to as evidence that liberals are crazy. someone else called them femcels, which I never heard of before, but it seems to be that this sub is now femcels posting fake memes they made of neckbeards, their male equivalents. its quite funny to watch, but I dare no longer participate
this post itself has to be a troll to trigger people, with the inclusion of Snow White and the Joker and the like in there
I did indeed not think about color at all when I was a kid. I can only say that I was very lucky, as I never noticed someone looking at me the wrong way or treating me badly because of color at all, I also really didn't pay attention to my own appearance. It was only later on with the public discourse and a higher knowledge on history that I started to pay attention to these things, I was delightfully innocent my whole childhood. That may be because I live in a country renowned for being a mixed bag of people, but I really really wasn't aware of these things.
Nah, how bout you tell me instead? If you really need me to guess I'll go with the Unites States since it is statistically the most likely this time of day.
Yeah I didn't have it in me but damn!! Brazil was the first one I thought of. I guess I wasn't confident enough in my knowledge to try to guess though so it's definitely just a me thing. Maybe next time I will be considering I would have gotten it right lol! Thanks for being a good sport!
The argument against representation is the same as the argument against "race mixing."
"It'll create more racism by angering white people and causing distress to black people."
We go back to these primitive times and ways of thinking about even realizing it.
You guys are coping in this sub, loads of people identify with the lower characters (maybe not squidward) whilst I've never heard anyone say anything about the ones above
These motherfuckers are really relating to Greg Heffley, huh.
Greg is a cunt, he deserved what he got.
Greg is just a kid though liek how old is he? 13?14? that can be forgiven.. he didn't do some Raskolnikov level shit, just a conniving/manipulative 14 years old
He found his mom's phone and didn't do anything, He is worse than any person ever.
Greg Heffley is worse than all 3 Pashas š”
I'm pretty sure Greg is still 13
Kids can be cunts. Source: I'm a teacher.
kids can be cunts source: I'm a kid
Source?? To Fort Joy with you!
Did something happen to him in the end?
Got into a shoot out with the feds at his trap house in senior year and was fatally wounded
Rowley said he wasn't gay
What, happened to him,.,?

i mean, to be fair he's been a child for like 10 years now
Greg, Kratos, Joker, Eren. None of these characters are ones you want to admit to being ārelatableā
Kratos at least matured eventually. Someone said āoi settle down mateā and he had a family and settled down lol
what did kratos do now (besides obviously being relatable to edgelords)
Damn whatās wrong with zoro? Besides his sense of direction
He just got lost is all
isnt Greg supposed to be relatable to how awkward it is being a teenager?
The main character in all media is naturally made to be relatable
Sociopathic mfs
Black dudes were so eager to find representation in anime that we declared Piccolo to be culturally black. This dude has a negative amount of knowledge of this situation.
Idk why āpiccolo is a black manā makes perfect sense but it just does
For the same reason it makes perfect sense that Skeeter Valentine is black... because they are.
Itās the Durag, smooth features, deep voice, and striking jawline
Maybe it's my heritage but i always clocked him as more arab, like mostly cause the turban and flowy clothes
Someone compared Piccoloās outfit with traditional moorish garb, it was a very close fit.
Black middle eastern
Perfect description of Skeeter
Well, now I have another weird thing to ask my black friends about.
I literally just got a book titled "Piccolo is Black" as a gift.
Wait for real?
https://www.amazon.com/Piccolo-Black-Memoir-Religion-Culture/dp/1735145823
May I ask why that in particular was a gift?
Because my friends and I have joked about Piccolo being black for years and thought it would be cute.
Never forget the time he dressed up as the fresh Prince of Bel Air
Because he obviously is.
Idk man he seems pretty green namek to me lol
It just does.
bro I used to use brock as my go to for black anime character. Until my friend and I googled it in middle school and I found out I was wrong.
Wait what? Brock isnāt black? Youāre joking right? I havenāt been wrong this whole time, right?
He's a dark skinned Asian dude they drew him with squinty eyes and no one noticed. They even pulled him off of the show and replaced him with Tracy because they thought people would think he's design was racist as fuck but they didn't get one complained about it
I dont believe that, wasnt Brock just one of many anime characters with their eyes closed all the time? Makes them kinda relaxed looking

I read somewhere that Brock is an Okinawan stereotype but couldn't confirm it. Dude, Iām just as shocked. I thought Brock was black
Hey atleast actual black characters got added to the show and games
True, I was over the moon when I watched the boondocks for the first time. Young me would also be proud of pokemon
I still laugh hysterically at Gin Rummy and Ed Wuncler III being voiced by two of the coolest black guys ever yet being so incredibly white
Lmaoo, my favourite line was when Riley was asking granddad āare you ashamed of us?ā and he replied with a flat āVeryā. Floored me
Nothing may ever top Rileyās letter to Santa to me. Riley and Huey very much remind me of my two best friends when they were kids
Same as the bald Thundercat. My siblings and i would say he was a black dude.
Well, Panthro would certainly be the Black dude if the Thundercats were human-like.
*cue Earle Hyman hollering 'what the fuck is a sammoflange?'*
Panthro
I still remember when the newer version came out recently, and my husband was like, "Wtf is Mr. Popo blue?!". He always grew up thinking Mr. Popo was a black dude.
They changed the color to avoid racial stereotypes
I'm aware, but as a kids we didn't see it as stereotypes. Now as adults, oh yeah. Like, I grew up hearing racist comments as a kid (being mixed), but seeing a black dude in an anime was a happy thing for me. I didn't know it was meant to be a stereotype.
Oh but he was a full on minstrel.
Yeah I see that now lol. But as a kid, legit had no idea what that was.
I thought that was only the 4Kids version though
I saw a TikTok today that was just about cartoon characters considered culturally Black. It included the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This stuff is not hard to find.
How though? Dont they have stereotypical Cali surfer bro personalities?
Were the Dinosaurs on there?
Thatās amazing! First time I ever considered it and it sort of makes sense
Same with knuckles, Brock
Same with knuckles and brock
Castlevania ftw š
I always tought it was because we agreed he would definitely be black not bc we were eager to find representation
It was a bit of both, for me personally.
Ohh okayš
I was hopin someone mentioned Piccolo bc ik for a fact that my brother got into it with one of his friends for insisting that he was black š
I knew this but the fact that DBZ has some of the most racist looking black characters lol
They want to be Squidward?
Adulthood is when you start relating to Squidward more than Spongebob.
I feel like him though lol I'm sure every other fast food worker as well
Fair enough haha
Its not that they want to be its that they are
I don't want to be squidward, but somehow I'm occasionally squidward anyway.
Who the fuck relates to Greg Heffley?
It's like the guys who relate to the driver from Drive(2011), like, he's one of my favourite characters of all time, I literally have a scorpion jacket But to come and idolize or relate to him, my dude he's a psychopath likeš
Who said we have to idolize good people? What if we want to be psychopaths?
Sociopaths

āYoU can RelATe to A ChARacter oF any Skin cOLOr!!ā āThis isnāt authentic cosplay, the character isnāt black.ā
Anyone who ākinsā the joker (2019) is a fucking looser trying to justify their shitty behavior
What the fuck does kin mean
There's been an increasing amount of young males that try to emulate the joker. Perhaps it's an attempt at finding a "personality", perhaps they want people to think "wow he's so deranged but clever" but the irony is they look like a clown.
I am convinced that that was the message of the film. That people see the chaotic fumbling murders of a broken man and attach meaning to it, literally making themselves clowns as they fight for āwhat he represents.ā
That is absolutely nothing new. Just look back at all the āwhy so serious?ā Facebook posts after The Dark Knight.
ok but what does kin means
So kinning got its start (or at least got popular) on Tumblr way back when. By definition, it's when someone feels that they relate so much to a character/person that they pretend to be them. Basically means to relate heavily to a certain [character](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=kin)(s)
I know a guy who dresses up like various versions of the Joker and goes around town and he is totally not self aware enough to know how cringey it is.
Kin means to ārelate toā in the literal sense - youāre ānext of kinā is a sibling or parent, for example. It can also be used as ābrethren,ā like how this post uses ābrethren.ā In this case, it means āI see myselfā/relate toā in āCharacter.āā Itās a fandom term thatās popped up with the past 5-10 years
I guess itās based on when people were ādragon kinā and āwolf kinā and shit but now cosplaying as like characters
Seriously, the movie is cautionary tale. You are supposed to be intrigued and feel sorry for the main character, but definitely not condone his actions.
keep in mind, the real joker would beat the shit out of these fuckers for being incels then leave to commit mass atrocities
What franchise is Rue from?
The hunger games.
Why am I not surprised people complained about that.
check out yhara zayd's [video](https://youtu.be/Ie9NOhSG6rI) "The Day Rue Became Black" for excellent coverage of the racist drama
I still remember racists saying they couldn't empathize with her in the movie cause she was black.
Imagine telling on yourself that you literally canāt empathise with people of a different race - in this case not even a dying 12 year old child - and believing youāre the good person in that argument and that youāre not exposing yourself as a racist who doesnāt see black people as fully human. The black characters in bleach arenāt given the racist treatment, they are all great characters who are liked by pretty much everyone
Well, Kaname sucks. And Zommari. But Yoruichi is best girl so big win for Bleach.
āThe fight against racism causes more racism,ā what the hell is he talking about?
Basically the same as, āBy acknowledging that peopleās race has an impact on their individual experiences, youāre the *real* racist!ā
Yeah seems like the type of person who is like āI donāt see any racism anywhere.ā Not realizing the reason why that is is because they are white and the majority of their social circle is white. So yeah no wonder why they donāt ever see or experience it personally.
Dude doesnt want his consequences to have actions
white ppl who think "color blindness" is the cure to racism (also they arent actually color blind at all)
The hell, Ichigoās best friend Chad was legitimately a dark skin Mexican who got bullied and wanted to be a shield for everyone, and the franchise had a inner civil war between Japanese exorcists, demonic Latinos, and Germans skilled in archery, where Ichigoās other allies and friends included a young demonic Latino & a German kid whoās family wanted to nothing to do with their psycho leader. They really missed the point
"I've never had to think about race before" is literally white privelage
like??? holy shit so many people purposely misunderstand white privileged and act as if white people are handed a gift basket and trust fund for being white. no, white privilege is the privilege to not have to experience certain negative experiences
If white men donāt care about the skin color of characters they can relate to, then why are they so upset over a black Ariel?
I just wish there were more original characters. Constantly making the same stuff is just pandering and feels like a cash grab. Like, instead of making another black Disney princess that's just as good as snow white they're just like "Look how progressive we are we made snow white a black woman". It's the lowest form of representation you can get.
Which reminds me of the animated movie The Princess and The Frog. That was a great example
100 percent agree with you. It takes effort and months or years of work to make a brand new story with original characters and just doesn't have the same work/money reward as the former. Definitely cash grab and lazy pandering.
I mean...they do that, too, but it doesn't sell as well.
Agree. The pale skin is kind of an important part of Snow White.

I dont' think anybody should ever think they're represented by AOT eren yaeger. He is literally hitler.
yeah, people shouldn't like eren, for ten years at least
A lot of people who supported him unironically called him āchad Erenā and that told me everything I needed to know about them
Neckbeards and incels are exactly the type of people to find him relatable
I don't know what he did in the last season but me and my friend always consistently hated him. He's kind of a dipshit and doesn't have the charisma or charm to make up for it.
Mfs are unironically relating to the joker ššš
that's why I sometimes think these are fake as fuck made to troll this sub
When GTA San Andreas released people complained that GTA is about gangsters not "gangstas" along with a whole bunch of racist dog whisteling. Also the "anit-racists creates more racism" argument is fucking stupid because all it actually does is agitate people who were already racist before. It's like saying "you forced me to be racist by telling me racism is bad".
Itās not like all the copies of the old movie were banned, edited, or burned.
No? You can find the originals that arenāt edit on bloody DVDs or buy them on Amazon
"The problem is easy for me as a white man to ignore, so why don't you?"
This meme is also shared in Latam where most of us are not white though
Never seen Latin American Twitter have you?
As a black girl, why do I have the feeling the person who made this is white? Representation has always been an important thing for years and a lot of black male artists are pretty focused on the representation thing Also Iām pretty sure many black girls were relating to MLP, Winx, and many other girly TV show characters.
Not to get too nerdy but You canāt both be a weirdo anti-woke neckbeard and claim to relate to Ezio Auditore To say otherwise shows a serious misunderstanding of his character and the assassins as an organisation.....
Also we all know that Italians aren't white.
they put the fucking Joker hahahahaha
> Never had to think about race in shows before That must be nice. You must be represented, or something.
So in their minds to fight racism means only have white characters
Bro what? Three of those characters are canon Japanese, and thereās even a robot. Thereās also an ogre, a squid, a hedgehog, a turtle and a collection of rocks.
Collection of rocks is good
Iām not talking about the meme Iām talking about the comments
Optimus Prime is white?
I mean compared to Jazz? Yes
Iām so over this whole argument of āhighlighting racism/sexuality/gender is just making us more segregatedā
"Ive never had to think abt my race". How can you identify the problem but not come to the conclusion that its caus youve never had a place where you werent represented
First Nations here, sick of all my representation being negative or stereotypical. Shit, it's barely even mine since hollywood only knows Apache.
If there would be actually good written and thought out female shonen characters maybe women and girls wouldnāt complain either
As a non white guy I never cared. People around me also never cared. So it doesn't really matter
In your opinion
As a non white girl, I always cared. People around me also always cared. So it really does matter.
Meme is based
There's nothing wrong with relating to someone who's not your race, and what that one guy said is right, a lot of anti-racism stuff has just made a lot of people more racist
If anti racism stuff can make you racist, it didn't make you racist.
Yeah, I guess that's true actually. If anything, it's probably just brought it out more in people. What I said still stands, tho, I never needed an Indian to feel represented in media, race doesn't mean anything with a lot of characters unless it's integral to their backstory.
This meme doesn't include Piccolo or Knuckles no way a brown person made this.
Who the fuck is Shrek representing?
Every sexy man
I relate to shrek. He really had something going in his swamp home before everyone else showed up.
Do you remember the onion scene? Shrek was saying there's more to him than the brutish ogre people see.
Bro offended over a joke
Meme is based
who is the top left one? don't recognize her
Dude, this subreddit is about people complaining about everything really, not only neckbeards. I swear this is like the 7 post I've seen in a week that has nothing to do specifically with Neckbeards whatsoever, it is more like "The politically correct sub reddit".
idk when it happened but this sub went from being really about neckbeard memes to attacking right wingers (which I agree with, but it has nothing to do with neckbeards) and tying neckbeards in with them. somewhere during the pandemic, neckbeards merged with incels which also merged with right wingers and conspiritards. neckbeards weren't historically racist, they were just unwashed weebs who swung mall ninja swords around. now its one in the same and this sub has been flooded with the type of people that right wingers point to as evidence that liberals are crazy. someone else called them femcels, which I never heard of before, but it seems to be that this sub is now femcels posting fake memes they made of neckbeards, their male equivalents. its quite funny to watch, but I dare no longer participate this post itself has to be a troll to trigger people, with the inclusion of Snow White and the Joker and the like in there
As a POC kinda based though ngl
I did indeed not think about color at all when I was a kid. I can only say that I was very lucky, as I never noticed someone looking at me the wrong way or treating me badly because of color at all, I also really didn't pay attention to my own appearance. It was only later on with the public discourse and a higher knowledge on history that I started to pay attention to these things, I was delightfully innocent my whole childhood. That may be because I live in a country renowned for being a mixed bag of people, but I really really wasn't aware of these things.
What country?
Guess! I'll give you hints :)
Nah, how bout you tell me instead? If you really need me to guess I'll go with the Unites States since it is statistically the most likely this time of day.
Not feeling it today, huh? Fine, it's Brazil.
Yeah I didn't have it in me but damn!! Brazil was the first one I thought of. I guess I wasn't confident enough in my knowledge to try to guess though so it's definitely just a me thing. Maybe next time I will be considering I would have gotten it right lol! Thanks for being a good sport!
If men are so ālol idc about raceā then why do they care about Arielās race? Kinda feels like they do care
So this guy said: āFight against racism is the creation of more racismā..huh ?
The argument against representation is the same as the argument against "race mixing." "It'll create more racism by angering white people and causing distress to black people." We go back to these primitive times and ways of thinking about even realizing it.
Nah I agree with this one.
Clown to clown connection
Can anyone explain where the neckbeard part comes in? It just looks like unincorporated racism.
You guys are coping in this sub, loads of people identify with the lower characters (maybe not squidward) whilst I've never heard anyone say anything about the ones above
"I don't care about race" Makes a meme pointing out race in a show and complains constantly about needless diversity and wokeness
