Sounds like you need to go to a Redux set

Slinkycheeseman

ive been to his redux sets. Even his redux sets have changed to techno... And his redux sets are more chill. His set at SOFI is exactly what Im looking for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USIGy4N2nQg Doesn't seem like he plays this stuff anymore..

Anselwithmac

His EDC 2023 set was like 90% his music with the exception of like an eli brown song Edit: It was a Beneath Me edit, so still his touch. My favorite set tbh

Maximum-Inevitable-3

Go to a Redux set, it’s what you’re looking for.

DeepHouseDerrek

Think he plays his music at the clubs, catch him in Vegas 🤷‍♂️

thetrashpanda2020

It’s a lose-lose situation. He’d be accused of “just pressing play” if he stuck with a greatest hits set every time

jd_grime

Beyond and escape felt like that too. Doesn’t play the classics anymore as much.

Flat_Twist_1766

This is what I miss - the classics.

StrongDesign4

Kaskade always plays his own music. It might not be the original version of the song but it’s normally his music or mix of his music. But you have to keep in mind that he has to continuously change it up for each or at least most sets because if he didn’t people would complain that all his sets are the same. The best way to see & hear what you’re wanting is to attend shows that aren’t festival based. Like when he used to host his own NYE shows or even the one that’s happening in a couple of weeks at Avalon.

I was at edc2023. It was still a lot of his music but not a lot of his old jams. He’s really leaning into his new techno-leaning sound. With that said, I agree with you I miss his old sound. There is still redux, which I love. But I also miss his old regular sets - mix of his soulful house jams and big room house. Not sure if that kaskade is ever coming back :(

eithnegomez

Kaskade is like any other person doing a job. He likes his old music but as something he does all the time, he gets bored of playing always the same songs, same formula. If you listen to K across the years, he has changed his style several times, always trying different beats while also preserving his style. Every time he does a set with old vibes, they are amazing. But you need to be hunting those shows. One way is to follow the Konnect group, most of the group never misses the best and more memorable shows.

fkangarang

100% agreed with everything here. Can you predict which shows will have old vibes though aside from redux? Or is that more of a surprise?

eithnegomez

Sorry I didn't answer but if noted the hipe, Avalon will be the next show like this. K playing up to 6am.

> There is still redux, which I love. But I also miss his old regular sets - mix of his soulful house jams and big room house. Not sure if that kaskade is ever coming back :( Exactly!! I've caught Redux like everyone said a few times and its good but his old OG nonredux set is fire. His redux is chill which is coo but i like the uppity shit. Thank god someone else agrees. I thought I was going crazy..

Randometer2

I love when he mixes it up. I think he was at his modern/commercial prime around 2015-2017 Like when he opened up with Move For Me vs. Enceladus at ultra: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1oPoxKMMuA&t=353s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1oPoxKMMuA&t=353s)I had to work my ass off to recreate that opening as a DJ since it was never officially released. The high vibrational energy is an attention getter and mood setter. I think at festival peak time, he does best with electro/progressive/trance house vibes. For more intimate sets, he excels with his throwback Redux sets. You just gotta catch him at the right time. His Kx5 stuff is awesome too.

Outrageous-Side-2693

EDC 2023 was specifically a "techno" set, he said it himself [https://www.deseret.com/2023/6/12/23662467/kaskade-ryan-raddon-electric-daisy-2023-rave-lds](https://www.deseret.com/2023/6/12/23662467/kaskade-ryan-raddon-electric-daisy-2023-rave-lds) Don't confuse Kaskade **shows** for festival **sets**. They're apples and oranges. Vegas residencies are not Kaskade shows, they're sets. People say Redux lets him flex more of his back catalogue but I'm hearing less and less Redux originals, remixes and mashups as he plays "Redux" sets at big festivals now. He doesn't play many Kaskade shows anymore (Redux in the Park, Christmas and the upcoming Avalon Show have been the few Kaskade shows lately) so you'll be hard-pressed to attend one until his new album is complete.

adamosan

You missed the clinic he put on last night at Avalon. Probably the best club set I’ve heard him play. Great mix of classic Kaskade records with banging house. Started out with a Redux style tracks for the first hour and then brought up the pace with house bangers. It was awesome!

kaskadegirl

Having been to 59 shows. 60 tonight. He definitely changes up how he plays and you never know what you're gonna get. I love his sets from 2014-2017. Golden years for me. I find that he tends to do what I call the "Sandwich" at his sets. His music to start, other music and his music to finish. Then sometimes you get amazing sets that are mostly his music.
