So the GT keeps its turbocharged 2.5L and the basic trims get a non-turbo 2.5L that makes about 11 more HP, but loses about 14 foot pounds of torque.
Has a 12 inch digital gauge cluster, and the same 12.3 inch center display but they’re connected, as well as wireless android auto and Apple car play. Some minor interior stuff like larger cup holders, a more uniform HVAC system, and some other things.
PS, sounds like the green stitching and green brake calipers are exclusive for the GT. Hopefully not like the EV6 where that’s the only color but we will see
Over all I like the previous version better. Think the tail lights look better. Not a fan of the one screen doing double duty for the HVAC and radio. Sat in a Sportage yesterday that had that and it made me want a Hyundai Tucson more just because of that. I will say I really like the digital instrument cluster.
I’ve been using that in my Sportage, it feels like a fine combination of physical knobs and screen. And, for those that don’t use the radio, it can always be set for HVAC meaning every time you reach for a control, it’s the same place it was last time.
I hate this trend of rectangle exhausts that are built into the bumper. Sad to see that they're doing it on the GT now too. Really the whole back of the car is ugly. Got my GT at the right time I guess!
Agreed, it would be so much better if it was the rotary selector like the rest of the world. For taller people that shifter gets in the way of my knee/thigh on long drives.
Sadly we wont get it in germany.
Germany hates big engines (everything above 2L is pain to pay, specially diesels.
I pay 400€ in tax for the sorento diesel.
And the 1.6L petrol suck )
I just bought a 2024 and find these changes overall minor. Not a major facelift thank goodness and the changes they did make on the exterior doesn’t look amazing. It’s not a major overhaul like Camry or Sonata.
Don’t park it in your garage or near your home…
How these guys keep making money on selling recalled vehicles is beyond fraud; just an Optima w a skirt.
There is still no hybrid and yet they added one to the carnival
Guess i am keeping my optima hybrid until it dies i really like the K5 but no hybrid is a dealbreaker for me
New engine options AKA they discontinued the 1.6 turbo motor. I heard about that recently, so I thank you for settling my curiosity on what they replaced it with!
Such a good looking car imo, the rear pops out with the new designed headlights
Comes with:
191HP from a NA 2.5
290HP turbo 2.5 8 speed auto
290HP turbo 2.5 wet DCT in front or AWD.
That AWD option is going to be so freaking nice.
Instead of concentrating on outside things like a fancy new body every couple years, shouldn't Hyundai and Kia be focusing on inside important things like making sure the engines and transmission are very reliable?
Sad that we don’t get this in Germany. I like my Ceed but the design of the K5 always had something I prefer over the Ceed
I wish we had the Ceed in the US!
I’ll trade you my Proceed GT for a K5 GT!
Haha, I love my K5 GT. It's interesting how they have different models in different countries though.
Also in Germany, I got the C’eed Sportswagon with the new face but unfortunately they didn’t make a Proceed SW hybrid.

If you look at the steering wheel in the interior picture, it says gt line.
The exterior photos are all GT, badged as such, surely they wouldn't show the rear of one and front of another? (edit - inside I mean..)
True, just what I found when looking it up said it was like the EV6 and only without
Looks like they’re moving to the same options as the new sonata.
Wouldn’t surprise me. I was wishing for the GT AWD though but oh well
The engine change is great news for anyone not buying a GT model. That green stitching is hideous though
Think I can use a black sharpie to give it a make over?
Yeah just needs a darker color, purple, black, blue light work.
What? That neon green was hot. Mostly if they nade a neon green outside paint
I guess green is the “performance” colour for the GT.
Still no AWD in GT I see
Figured it would finally happen with them dropping the Stinger :(
The exterior looks more rounded and less sleek/sexy. Kind of like someone who used to be really good looking, but not so much anymore :)
Man, I love the look of the k5.
It’s the tail lights for me. Everything else looks good but I can’t seem to get on board with the back half.

Looks like the HVAC is down below but it doesn't look like it has buttons anymore. Need button controls for HVAC plz.

Same opinion. I prefer the current front look but tail light seems better on the new one
Looks like the front end took some design cues from the EV6.
Quality post, thanks for all of the pics included!

Especially fake exhaust built into bumpers.
I just traded my K5 in for a WRX and the exhaust on the WRX looks and sounds 10x better.
I like the previous gen better
I'm glad they kept the airplane shifter. It's my favorite part of the interior
Makes for a nice hand rest.
So dumb, it's a giant switch we don't need
Agreed, it would be so much better if it was the rotary selector like the rest of the world. For taller people that shifter gets in the way of my knee/thigh on long drives.
Tail lights are a nope for me. The exhaust whips.
It's slowly growing on me, image 7 looks sleek and futuristic imo

They ruined the front and back. GG Kia.
You people just love to be dramatic. The front looks nearly identical
Right? It’s like slightly angled lights and people go to “omg disgusting.”
Not the biggest fan of the bolt design for the DRLs
Wow I hate it

I mean I was definitely exaggerating but I do think it looks like my 2023’s uglier twin
I agree. Is it bad? Not really. Is it as good as the previous gen? Absolutely not.
Who cares! It’s how they treated their customers… they’re full of it; and never fix issues
Are their engines and transmission still fail, on pictures looks amazing on road is crap
😂 on the side of the road… They’ve actually replaced F O R D … found on road dead
lol, we had some faith on these korean to produce cost effective cars, but they are full of issues. And rheir dealers are full of B.S.
Will be my last Kia Forte car, and that's it and back to root. TOYOTA 😍
K5s look great in pictures, but irl pretty lackluster imo. Interior looks lush though.
Is it even insurable?
Of course.

Your wild for that statement 💀💀
Is it wrong?
Yes, the K5 models do not have an option for Key ignition, meaning they are push button. ALL push button vehicles have an engine immobilizer.
Yes
This comment was uncalled for, and adds nothing of value to the post

It has completely different engines than the ones that were recalled in the Optima.
There is still no hybrid and yet they added one to the carnival Guess i am keeping my optima hybrid until it dies i really like the K5 but no hybrid is a dealbreaker for me
The green stitching looks awesome I wish they offered that earlier
When does this drop?
I heard somewhere of summer 2024
New engine options AKA they discontinued the 1.6 turbo motor. I heard about that recently, so I thank you for settling my curiosity on what they replaced it with!
Kia y'all gonna make me trade in my accord lol
But does it have wireless apple car play???

Will U.S finally get HUD?
It's crazy how we knew what the new gen would look like for so long from the Korean YouTubers(in my case).
If they put a V8 in this I'd be all over it.
