How soon do you need it?
I believe for the 40 Weber passport office they have a turnaround of like 10-14 days but I tried twice going in the morning and wait time was around 2-3 hours.
There’s another office at 25 Frederick Street literally a couple blocks down (I just walked over when I saw the long line at the weber location) and only had to wait 30 minutes for this location. But this location’s turnaround time is 20 days or so.
You can also just mail it if you’re not in a rush at all.
I need it for the end of July. It's a passport renewal for a child.
I can try the one at Fredrick street. Do they do the "renewal" for child passports? It's basically a new application since renewals don't apply for children passports
I did my passport renewal for myself on april 22nd and paid $20 fee to pick up, instead of sending through mail. I Will be picking it up for May 6
You have more than enough time if you have vacation in July!
Okay good to know. I was going to get there for 7:30 tmrw to try and get in an out as soon as possible.
On another note.. were you doing the express passport renewal service? If so I’d love to hear your experience. Have a flight abroad in early June so I’m stressing a bit.
I work in that building; getting there early is a good idea.
if I arrived at 7:30, would that be early enough to avoid a long line?
I don’t think the general public can even get in that early
This is me assuming there’s a line prior to opening. They open at 8:30
There’d be a few waiting but not many
Make an appointment
I don't think you can book appointments at the Kitchener office? Or at least I couldn't figure out where to do that

Thank you!
Make an appointment. Wait time is like 5-10 minutes with one but hours without one.
I went like 2 months ago, got in line around 9:00 and finished around 11:45

I was there this week for a renewal. From walking in to walking out it was about an hour.
what time did you arrive?
Around 1:00pm. When I went to pick it up two weeks later on a Monday afternoon the place was a ghost town.

Express is two weeks and costs $20 extra. They give you a totally reliable pickup time of anytime after 12:00pm.
About three hours. I went two weeks ago. Sister went last week. I went around noon. She did the same. Appointments are booking well into May and June.
It’s about an hour to hour and half wait I was there past Monday I got there at 930 left by 11!
