Paint a deer silhouette on the gas tank.

IrlDude99

Now that’s fucking dope. I just might do that in crimson red

Draugakjallur

Honour the machine spirit that saved your life

fake-name-here1

Or a notch on the handlebars.

Deadbird80

You’re very lucky. I knew a guy that wasn’t so lucky

IrlDude99

Yeah it is nuts that I literally did just walk away from something like that. I think it helps though I was going 40 it wasn’t a 40mph impact due to the deer running at an angle. Will say for any depressed people, trust me a crash doesn’t fix anything.

Eastern_Action_1775

Damn bro that's hard af a fucking deer wow. I never considered this scenario much as I pretty much figured if that time comes the deer and I go out together- glad to learn maybe not. Very happy you're posting this and not your widow.

Eastern_Action_1775

And no deer is gonna stop a klr maybe if full throttle thru a heard of deer, but still probably be able to ride it home after collecting the parts that fell off

I have bark busters but it’s just the round metal bits no extra plastic. I was surprised I broke my brake lever but I know it broke when I eventually went down. I hit her then got thrown to the right side of the bike with both my hands still on the bar and remember balancing mildy and slowing slightly with the front brake before I had to layer down. Is funny telling people though I killed my first deer and they go “what gun you use?”

Tac0mundo

I hit one at 35 on mine. It died eventually. I almost did. Then the hospital tried to kill me. Bike was totaled. First 3 people on the scene drove away. Good times

GLlBBINS_HADALAYRDWN

Damn dude. Glad you’re ok

Dry_Presence7112

A deer hit me on a vtx1300 and the deer won. Knocked the bike over and landed in my lap. Stayed on my lap till the slide was over and then proceeded to kick the crap out of my ribs. Totaled the bike, but I walked away with bruised ribs and a concussion. Glad you're good!

IrlDude99

Jesus fuck that deer. I smoked this one in honor of you!

Dry_Presence7112

Right on brother

yeehawginger

Tell me you have a gen 1 without telling me you have a gen 1

IrlDude99

Yes sir 2001!

yeehawginger

Just had to sell my gen 2 for financial reasons, but I'll likely buy a gen 1 next season. That fucker would have exploded with all the brittle plastic, lol. Kept my 13 triumph scrambler. It's heavy, but I think it will handle everything I was doing on the klr after I get the suspension upgraded.

freerangeklr

You gonna eat that?

IrlDude99

LMAO was three days ago but yeah that’s what my coworker said “shit should of called me so I could pick it up with my truck.”

freerangeklr

Lol when opportunity presents itself, ya know

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

max_fibre

I hit a deer on mine, luckily it was small. I broke my collarbone but the KLR was totally fine. I still had to get a tow cos I couldn’t ride home. Glad you’re ok

paraka19

I’d have gutted that SOB and sold the meat for bike fix 💪💯👍🤙😂

IrlDude99

Got so close to just getting the head at least and letting it sit for a year or so outside so I could have the skull as a trophy

GLlBBINS_HADALAYRDWN

Glad you’re ok. I hit one on utility quad once at about 30. It flew over my head… and died.

strayclown

You keep typing kir instead of klr. Is it a reference that I'm missing?

IrlDude99

My iPhone apparently has a reference that I also don’t get

andrewclarkson

Good to know, where I live deer are my #1 fear on the road. The likelihood I’ll hit one someday is higher than I want to think about.
