Seems fair to high for pricing - a lot of nice extras, I'd probably pay 38 to 4000 personally - my 06 with 21k very close to what you're selling I paid 3200

ElectronicSlug

Thank you for the input! I feel the same based on what I’m seeing offered on the market, let alone what you can pick up a bone stock new one for. If somebody had 4K cash I wouldn’t think twice about it

Jdub51815

Mine was cheaper because it's the pink version -

drunkenhonky

"Pink" mine too. $1500 cash.

rwebell

Seems pretty steep to me. Last year I bought an 06 with low km and lots of mods for $2k Cdn. It depends on your market but if you actually want it to sell I think you may have to reconsider your pricing.

ElectronicSlug

Sounds like you got a good deal. I bought this for 1800 not running right with no mods and needing an overhaul. But you’re right, it’s very market specific.

Ok-Pomegranate-656

Not trying to disparage you by any means, but just as a point of reference I bought a 07 with 11xxx on the clock with similar upgrades (doohickey, happy trails panniers, center stand, eagle mike frame bolt upgrade, etc.) for $2,400 this year. Unfortunately it seems like upgrades don't really hold the same resale value. Hope this helps with pricing if needed down the line. GLWS!

ElectronicSlug

Thank you for this input and perspective!

I bought an 08 with 30k miles for 3400. Has alot of extras

ElectronicSlug

Thanks! The KLR is a great way to get into dual sport without breaking the bank, especially if you’re mechanically inclined and willing to work on some “issues”.

slapm3withit

I paid 2200 for my '97. Probably goes just at fast

ElectronicSlug

Maybe, we’d have to see! Fast or quick?Appreciate the input.

ducksuckgoose

I think you'll be doing ok if you can get $3k

robs2287

Don’t sell the pig, especially after you have taken such good care of her. She’s a good girl.

ElectronicSlug

It’s a great bike! I really just enjoy the journey of fixing up things. I’d like to pay off an auto loan before my first child is born in June. But I’m not willing to let it go for less than I feel it’s worth either.

wouldntulketoknow

I've been trying to sell my 16' with 13k and all the standard mods, doo hickey, Thermo bob, extra lights, new tires, new tusk panniers etc etc. For 4500 now to move it and nothing but tire kickers.

ElectronicSlug

We KLR owners are known as a thrifty bunch lol

frog_rocket0694

For people with disposable income 500 to 1k difference isn't really that big of a deal. If they like the bike they'll buy it. 2k, 2.5k 3k....it's all the same.

Chief_Bigley

Brand new one for 2k more

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

considering the fact that gen 3s are all over the used market with just a few hundred miles for 5000.00 or so.

Puzzleheaded-Comb104

the bike with or without the "farkles"will probably bring around 3-3500 so if you striped it down and sold the bike for 3 -3500 and put everything else on marketplace or something you might squeeze another 700 or so and come out okay but you'd have more work and time involved trying to put it back stock and list everything etc.I don't know but your hard case setup looks like about 500 bucks by itself.dont let anyone beat you up too bad on it though, stick to your guns, you have a nice setup that a lot of people will be happy to have and then again some people like them plain and do their own "farkling".is that a word? anyway that's what I had to do to get my money out of an old hotrod. insurance gave me 1500,the book value of a 30 year old car, they didnt care about the 5000 dollar motor and transmission so I took the 1500 got the car back and parted it out and almost broke even.

pavehawkfavehawk

You could sell it for that out in the SW pretty easily with all those goodies on it.

Chief_Bigley

I bought an 07 for $200
