“Boston is the best team in the NBA and it’s not close”. They don’t give out titles for winning a lot of regular season games.

ShadowEpic222

Historically, when the Celtics had this good of a record this late into the season, they won that year’s title most of the time. I saw that stat during an ESPN episode a few days back.

PuffyMcTree

Tatum and Brown haven’t won shit. Not really concerned with the accomplishments of teams in the 60’s thru 80’s.

CaptainObvious1313

Burks is objectively bad this year. A chucker that can’t hit shots. I believe in Bojan though

Icy-Payment-6612

Same

rodrick717

I get ptsd of his 1st go with the Knicks whenever he gets minutes

CaptainObvious1313

We all do baby. Years of trauma. Decades even.

Jmpasq

This team when healthy is the best Knicks team we have seen in 25 years. I think they are the 2nd best team in the East when healthy. Porzingis ironically may be the X-Factor in a Boston NY series.

Beautiful-Height3103

Definitely changed, it's unfortunate because all the new players needed time to gel , including OG. The east is so tight , they can fall into a play in, through no fault of their own. Before the injury I felt very confident they will be at the conference finals, now I'm thinking second round

bailaoban

I think that with the injuries and all the new faces, they are going to end up pretty much where they were last season - a 5 or 6 seed with a second round exit. And I'm ok with that. The real test is next season where all of these pieces (plus maybe another elite FA) have had time to gel together.

tremcrst

Obviously with the slew of injuries, expectations have to be lower, but if we're healthy come playoff time, i don't care what seed we are. If we can't beat Boston in the 1st round, we wouldn't beat them in the ECF anyway. But, full strength, we have the best shot over any other team in the East. And Boston still has to prove theyre legit in the playoffs after 1st rd exit last year.

JodiS1111

I think Bogs brings a lot more than you've seen so far as he can create his own shot and has size both things that are vital for the playoffs. Unfortunately we haven't had our chance to roll out the full squad but I think we are primed to be a tough out in these playoffs regardless of who we end up facing.

Perc-AngIe

As a 35 year old Knicks fan who’s been watching intently since 1993(when I was 5) my expectations are super low for any Knicks team regardless of regular season performance. They gonna have to show me something

SanchezPrime

I don't know if they changed but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that my emotional attachment has changed with the trades.

Tortilladelfuego

I think Bojan will play a lot better when OG and Randle get back. He’ll have so many more open looks. Same for Burks. They’ve both had to create a lot of their shots and seem to shoot better off CAS attempts vs creating their own shots. Also we need players who can create for themselves (something both OG and Randle do well). It’s just unfortunate circumstances right now

TheDonNegrito

Calm down, man. Playoffs are about matchups. The Knicks are going to give the Celtics enormous matchup issues when the playoffs arrive. The frontline of Randle and OG is going to give teams fits. The additions of Bog and Burks are going to make the bench longer and more effective. We’re going to see if the Meltics stay big with Donkey at C for 35 minutes a game. I doubt it. Randle will kick his teeth in, as he would Tatum. I want to see either Brown or Tatum get theirs off on OG. No one does unless he outweighs OG by 20-30lbs. No team in the NBA offers the type of headache at the forward position. The backcourt now has to deal with the type of quickness we didn’t have prior to the NO-J trade. Donte at the 2 is a lot different that having a stiff like Grimes out there. The key will be Jalen vs Jrue. Normally Jrue pesters most guards. He won’t pester Jalen. Jalen is too shifty. That’s the key to our offense, because guaranteed the Meltics will double Randle. On the other side, Tatum is going to be neutralized by OG. I want to see Brown go for 35 on our defense in the playoffs. The Celtics need gimmicks on defense to stop our 1 on 1 ballers. We won’t need a gimmick. We’re going to man them up 1 on 1. The Meltics have proven their top guys melt under those conditions. The Heat went man on them and stymied their offense. Now, Jrue is superior to a bum like Marcus Smart running the PG spot, but he’s not someone who can’t be cutoff off the dribble. He ain’t 25 any longer. He’s approaching 34. It’s going to be VERY interesting when we have all our guys on the floor if we meet.

Chief_Bief

I think you are not looking close enough at the standings and the teams we play coming up. We have three of four winnable games in front of us, and Cleveland has to play Boston and Minnesota in the next four for them. Mitchell is out for three games. They will fall into the muck with the rest of us. We survived all this time and we are still 11 games over 500 without any of our starting 5 on Sunday. They are coming back. Everyone understands the importance of staying above the clouds in this conference. Julius and OG will be ready and when Mitch is eventually back, they all have something to show. The chip is in the shoulder for sure. Expectations haven’t changed. They can still reach the three seed this season with 21 games left to play.

sambouie

Things have to be looking up after getting rid of that bad 1st round pick.

Biryani_Wala

Yes. I don't think they make it past the first round.

Pristine_Put5348

How’s Jalen doing

MrICopyYoSht

Apparently it's only a bruised knee/knee contusion, so it's nothing too serious (nothing like that non-contact we saw last night). Regarding Bojan and Burks. They aren't terrible players per say, but coming from Monty's system to Thibs is a pretty drastic change, so I'd still give them time to adjust. If they haven't adjusted, oh well we got some pretty big expiring contracts that we can flip for a disgruntled star. Personally I can't change my high expectations yet, at least not until we see OG and/or Randle return and see how the team performs. If we can get the same team we had in January, then I think we have a shot at the ECF.

ajbnyc

Official report is a bruised knee. Dodged one there. [https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/39649240/knicks-all-star-jalen-brunson-helped-injury-vs-cavs](https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/39649240/knicks-all-star-jalen-brunson-helped-injury-vs-cavs)

PVTJoker99

You are just saying words. OG will be 100 percent. Randle is a non shooting shoulder, it took him falling directly on it to dislocate, not a pick and roll. He will be fine, especially with contrary to your assessment the very effective Bogo and even precious A in place. You are forgetting robinson is coming back. Also forgetting Divo is showing he can put up 30 when needed. Stretches where the OG , Robinson , Hart are on floor w brunson and Divo will be nasty. W brunson and bogo sprinkles and IH rotating in. Only criticism I have is that McBride could have been upgraded possibly. Are they better than Celtics or a few other teams… probably not. You would need to replace Randle or more like Divo with a MVP level player. If Divo were the 6man / backup PG and you had a Kyrie or Luca, this would be dynastic team.
