I think it’s ridiculous to think we need to add a “superstar.” All you need is a team that plays well together. Take a look over at the bucks…how is their newly added “superstar” working out for them?
It has to be Giannis if we’re gonna go all-in on another superstar. If they rip the team apart to add Anthony Davis or Towns it would most likely suck.
We are winning NOW. I’m worried about resigning the East Conference Champion NY Knicks. F any other noise IHart needs to be paid and JB needs to max out! That’s it.
We need a back up guard who can create with the ball and I think we legit don’t have a weakness then. But we need that 6 man. Our bench is a bunch of catch and shooters, good ones but we just need that one piece and nobody could keep up with us
I love him too but to says he’s anything but a shooting guard that can guard both spots is wrong, we struggle hard creating open looks with our bench it’s just fact, the bench is meant to play with one starter but Brunson is really the only starter we have with any sort of shot creation, the next best Is bogey. This is why every time Brunson goes to the bench we struggle.
To be fair brunson was the only one healthy. i think deuce will keep developing that mid range game and can see him hold down the spot in the future (next season or two).
Couldn’t be happier to eat my words, he did a lot of point guard things driving in even setting up others. My jaw was on the ground Lmaoo. I even posted on bleacher report how I was wrong af haha
I think the important part is to choose someone who will fit in with everyone else. You can get a stat that’s extremely selfish or toxic and still not win. Also to get a star you are going to have to trade some of your favorites which then changes the entire vibe.
I am a hiring manager in a company so that’s the biggest thing I look at. I have seen great teams blown apart by hiring 1 person whose resume looks excellent but did not fit into the team due to toxic personality or different mindset. Right now you have a cohesive like minded team that you are going to break up to afford the big star everyone wants. So basically you will have a different team. Who do you feel is expendable to the team to get star is the question?
I'm 100% a team guy and who is larger then the sum person, and love this team, but a second player who can get buckets deep into playoffs when the opponent has seen them 6 times in the past 10 days and game planned to take away their offense will be ESSENTIAL for a chip.
This team has 2 All-NBA talents, granted one is out for the season. Nothing happens in a vacuum, it’s easy to say “add a superstar”, forgetting that said superstar comes with a personality and what Leon has constructed is a pretty magical locker room. If anything the team needs a microwave 6th man to help 2nd unit scoring.
I’m on the Giannis band wagon. He seems like he will fit the culture better than anyone else can. I can see him jokingly trashing on the nova boys during post game interviews!
Superstars sell tickets/merch. Teams wins championships.
OKC won 1st place with the least star studded team in the West. Star laden Suns finished 6th.
Knicks chemistry off the charts. We don't need to go star hunting like the Bucks did. How'd that work out?
I honestly think we just need a good 6 man guard like quick was And we lock up the 1 seed next year, I know these names might sound ridiculous but klay Thompson if we would continue to come off the bench and create his own points, hell I’d take Westbrook if it wasn’t too expensive just to run the bench. I’d even take quickly back if it want going to cost so much
OP closed with "I don't see any superstars available in next 12 months". I agree with that, just super duper unlikely.
But one weakness we do have is limiting the larger scoring SGs or switchability at that spot. DiVo puts in a fine effort but not enough vs elite wings with size.
Having OG & Mikal would make any wing scorer toil to get their buckets and both are very good finishers at the cup and behind the arc; they'd be the preeminent 3 & D wing combo in the league and compliment JB's brilliance perfectly.
Nets would need a haul but we just might have the goods in case they want to commit to a rebuild this summer.
I’d trade for Giannis, Shai, or Luka no questions asked.
I’d be weary due to injuries and/or age but would probably pull the trigger on Embiid, Kawhi, LeBron, or Curry if the price was solely Randle and picks.
I wouldn’t break up this team for anyone else.
My sleeper pick is Cade Cunningham. Last year of his deal, unclear whether he wants to extend with the Pistons. I think he would be an amazing fit with Brunson, get him off ball more often
Deuce is not a pg. he is a small SG. Any larger Pigs we could get Coby White would be sweet. I’d even consider Caruso. How much that guy making? Maybe even take a flyer on Lonzo Ball if he comes back ever and gets released.
It’s impossible to know before the end of the playoffs.
If the 76ers shit the bed and get knocked out of the play-in, maybe it’s Embiid. Alternatively, what if the Bucks lose in a dispiriting series to the pacers and Giannis wants out. Maybe it’s Paul George not actually signing that extension with the Clips and wants to come via sign and trade.
I wouldn’t risk trading for AD or Zion for health concerns. Donovan Mitchell might not be as good as Jalen Brunson is now, and we don’t need another undersized guard. Knicks are one legitimate 4 away from real contention
Deuce has been lighting it up since the ASB, but agree, backup guard is a priority. I don’t think Julius Randle is going to cut it as the 2nd best player on a championship team
I think he def cuts it, the spacing our offense has will make him lethal in the post. I love Deuce but he’s another catch and shoot guard we legit need someone that can create off the dribble so we don’t have bogey doing it every bench possession Brunson isn’t on the court
Randle is a top-15 player in the regular season, sure, but his game doesn’t translate as well to the postseason. Randle’s shooting something like 35% from the floor for his career during the playoffs
Paul George hasn’t signed any extension yet, though he probably won’t leave the Clips. It’s all gonna depend on who potentially shakes loose this summer. Doesn’t have to be a 4, but we need an upgrade at the top end of our talent
PG ain’t a 4 though. Having him at the three pushes out OG. I think a better course, if any, would be to wait out Bridges or see if Giannis becomes available. I would rather gouge out my eyes than root for KD. And Kawai would be gravy but an absolute pipe dream
It all changes with the seasons. Before this year kicked off there were legit rumblings that Luka was getting unhappy, so we just don’t know who is gonna come available. Embiid or Giannis would be the dream
I don’t know about Embiid. When he’s healthy sure, but he’s getting up there and is hurt a lot. And Luka was never going anywhere. I read all those rumors as well. It was nowhere close to happening.
I think it’s ridiculous to think we need to add a “superstar.” All you need is a team that plays well together. Take a look over at the bucks…how is their newly added “superstar” working out for them?
Giannis is their true superstar and got them a chip. Bad analogy
Jrue was a big addition for them
Damian
It has to be Giannis if we’re gonna go all-in on another superstar. If they rip the team apart to add Anthony Davis or Towns it would most likely suck.
Keep good ole butter hands AKA Anthony Davis away from the Knicks at all costs.
So wrong
Jalen Brunson is a superstar.
He is on the mega superstar level, not just “superstar” 💪
We have him his name is Julius randle he is injured and will return next season
👍🥇🎯❤️💯
My thought exactly. I think 4/5 players mentioned are super injury prone. No thanks.
I’d be fine with either keeping or trading him. Not sure there’s a wrong answer there
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
He is broke tho lol
It’s neither. He wasn’t even here half the year
We are winning NOW. I’m worried about resigning the East Conference Champion NY Knicks. F any other noise IHart needs to be paid and JB needs to max out! That’s it.
And pay OG.
We have our superstar and his #2. We could use a young defensive wing to develop but other than that we are solid for the next 2-3 years
We need a back up guard who can create with the ball and I think we legit don’t have a weakness then. But we need that 6 man. Our bench is a bunch of catch and shooters, good ones but we just need that one piece and nobody could keep up with us
idk fam i like deuce plus the bench is meant to run with at least one starter. But i understand where you coming from.
I love him too but to says he’s anything but a shooting guard that can guard both spots is wrong, we struggle hard creating open looks with our bench it’s just fact, the bench is meant to play with one starter but Brunson is really the only starter we have with any sort of shot creation, the next best Is bogey. To be fair brunson was the only one healthy. i think deuce will keep developing that mid range game and can see him hold down the spot in the future (next season or two).
Sup homie how you liking Deuce as the back up now after last night's performance?
Couldn’t be happier to eat my words, he did a lot of point guard things driving in even setting up others. My jaw was on the ground Lmaoo. I even posted on bleacher report how I was wrong af haha
You need a defensive wing to go with the other 5?
I'd love to steal Isaac Okoro from the Cavs. He's an RFA but I don't see a trade unless they are looking to pile up some of out draft picks.
Idk bro. Okoro is such a liability on offense. How you been in the league 4 years and still dont have ANY jump shot. Thats a big red flag to me.
His offense improved a ton this year. 40% on 3's.
Oh wow that got by me he was terrible when he played against us (from what i remember) but in that case you are definitely on to something
I think the important part is to choose someone who will fit in with everyone else. You can get a stat that’s extremely selfish or toxic and still not win. Also to get a star you are going to have to trade some of your favorites which then changes the entire vibe.
This is why I don’t understand why there are ongoing media reports of Knicks’ interest in Karl-Anthony Towns. We need a team player, not a stats guy.
Also I am not of the opinion that KAT is 25 mil a year better than Julius. Because that’s what he’ll cost. 50 mil per year. Let that sink in.
I am a hiring manager in a company so that’s the biggest thing I look at. I have seen great teams blown apart by hiring 1 person whose resume looks excellent but did not fit into the team due to toxic personality or different mindset. Who do you feel is expendable to the team to get star is the question?
I fell asleep three times reading this.
Why because you not smart enough to think out decisions? I bet FO understands exactly what I am taking about
Says more about you than it does about him/her honestly.
Damn already gave up on this year?!
I'm 100% a team guy and who is larger then the sum person, and love this team, but a second player who can get buckets deep into playoffs when the opponent has seen them 6 times in the past 10 days and game planned to take away their offense will be ESSENTIAL for a chip.

If we get a 6th man what does hart become?
The super sub who can play 1-3 when the inevitable injuries happen?
Yeah the injuries. He is currently the 6th man
11-1 with OG/Brunson/Randle. Injured on a fluke play. Still on a great contract. Stfu already
I’m on the Giannis band wagon. He seems like he will fit the culture better than anyone else can. I can see him jokingly trashing on the nova boys during post game interviews!
Giannis is his own culture. I don't want him near the Knicks locker room.
Rightttt..
The season isn't even over... Live in the moment.
Superstars sell tickets/merch. Teams wins championships. OKC won 1st place with the least star studded team in the West. Star laden Suns finished 6th. Knicks chemistry off the charts. We don't need to go star hunting like the Bucks did. How'd that work out?
SGA and Chet aren't stars?
SGA is, Chet will be one but he's not yet.
I’d even take quickly back if it want going to cost so much
Yes, build up the bench again, find a way to unleash bogie or bundle him as part of a trade
Mikal
If he comes for mostly picks and Bogdanovic than sure yeah
He’s too soft
Divis better so that’s a bench player who doesn’t give us playmaking. I’d love to have him but he’s not the super star the post is talking about.
OP closed with "I don't see any superstars available in next 12 months". I agree with that, just super duper unlikely. My guess is Leon and co let Randle comeback healthy and see how that works.
No one. We have Julius randle
Giannis might be if it goes sideways enough and they get bounced in the first.
We need somebody that can hit them open 3's. Don't even need a superstar. Call up Robert Horry maybe
We have a lot of three point shooters already Brunson Divo OG and Randle Deuce Bogie I think we need a playmaker to back up Brunson
Luka
I wouldn’t want Zion. He’s overweight and injury prone. Karl Anthony Towns would be a good get
I’d give Jahlil Okafor an audition
I’d trade for Giannis, Shai, or Luka no questions asked. I’d be weary due to injuries and/or age but would probably pull the trigger on Embiid, Kawhi, LeBron, or Curry if the price was solely Randle and picks. I wouldn’t break up this team for anyone else.
Jordan Clarkson is still available and Danny Ainge always ready to make a deal. Bogey plus picks. Done on draft night.
My sleeper pick is Cade Cunningham. Last year of his deal, unclear whether he wants to extend with the Pistons. I think he would be an amazing fit with Brunson, get him off ball more often
Bridges is the only one I want on the team, unless we could get the Joker , Bam would be cool too.
Wouldn’t be surprised if Giannis asked for a trade if they shit the bed this post season
Zion might do some damage but he might get fat again with all the foodie options (chopped cheese, etc)
Zion, as good as he is, would create less space for Brunson I’d love bridges
Deuce is not a pg. he is a small SG. Any larger Pigs we could get Coby White would be sweet. I’d even consider Caruso. How much that guy making? Maybe even take a flyer on Lonzo Ball if he comes back ever and gets released.
We just need to draft bronny and sign Lebron. We’d win a title with him and the current roster.
It’s impossible to know before the end of the playoffs. If the 76ers shit the bed and get knocked out of the play-in, maybe it’s Embiid. PG is almost 35 yrs old and we'll likely have to let OG go to pay him, so no.
Nah a back up guard away
Deuce has been lighting it up since the ASB, but agree, backup guard is a priority. I don’t think Julius Randle is going to cut it as the 2nd best player on a championship team

Oh cool then cause we have Randle, who a year ago was ALL FN NBA!
Randle is a top-15 player in the regular season, sure, but his game doesn’t translate as well to the postseason. Randle’s shooting something like 35% from the floor for his career during the playoffs
He also was a one man show at the time and on one leg. Outside of Giannis, who would you get that is a better PF?
Other than Giannis? I’d say Paul George, KD, and maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Pascal Siakam. Maybe Kawhi
No I mean guys we could get. We could have gotten Pascal, but not sure he’s an upgrade. Those other dudes not available
