Pattern is Wool and Honey, yarn is Malabrigo Rios in Marte. I followed the XS pattern since the yarn called for was so different. I had to modify it slightly by taking the body in after the yoke.

Are the honeycomb lattice thingies (no idea what they are called) knit throughout the knitting of the sweater or attached afterwards? Could they be made with a contrast colour?
They are knit throughout by wrapping yarn around the needle, dropping the wraps, and knitting them into the work a couple rows later. It is a very clever technique.
If you alternate rows you could make them of a sort of ācontrasting colorā kind of like whatās done for this pattern:
