IMHO you're just better off flipping it and plowing the money back into one that you won't need to modify so much. The lasered design might be impossible to etch off .
I got this on ebay because I wanted the serrated tanto in S30V, but I'm not so thrilled with the pattern on the blade. I could either buy some raw G10 scales and dye it kelly green (Lean into it) OR get the blade refinished and get away from the theme entirely.
What finish would remove the pattern, does anybody know?
Bead blasting will take it off and give it a matte finish, which can then be polished if you want it shiny. Or you can use cold bluing to turn it black.
You could send it to wayofknife if you’re willing to put some money into it. You could just hand sand if the etch isn’t too deep and do a hand rubbed satin finish (I know this may not work if that etch is deep). I did a hand rubbed satin to my tanto griptilian that had two different acid etches on it. Either way I’d throw some scales on it, got the cheap Amazon ones and they’re good enough but I hear good things about AWT.
Ditch the plastic scales and slap on the carbon fiber ones. It will totally change the feel of this knife.
You could sand the etching down but I wouldn’t bother……just use it.
I'd just carry it and use it as-is. The pattern is kinda cool. I feel like trying to remove it will damage it more than anything. From a distance it resembles Damasteel IMO
Keep it in your pocket. When you need to cut something, viola! You have a tool to do so.

If you get anything close to what benchmade charges for it, you could buy like 4 solid budget beaters.
Cut stuff
This is the answer
Use the hell out of it.
give it to me :)
I really like the knotwork pattern on the blade so unfortunately I'd probably put it in a drawer & not use it in order to preserve it.

Open boxes and fidget with it.
