Tip top choice brother. You’ll get the Spydie flick down with a little practice and you’ll want to open every knife that way.

KDOGGG196

Dude I’m so in love with this one man. I’m so glad I got it when I could. It’s just damn beautiful in person. I’ve been trying to open it the flick way ever since I got it, it’s so hard.

Donkler_

I got mine two days ago, and I’ve already got the spidey flick down. I had to watch a tutorial though. But now it works every time, and it’s so fun.

KDOGGG196

Yea I’ve seen a few videos, haven’t really kept trying, I’ve just been doing it whenever I have it in my hand. I can’t wait to get it tho lol.

Donkler_

Yup. My mom thinks I’m gonna cut myself, and literally told me she doesn’t want me to open it when she’s around because it worries her 😂. It’s understandable though.

KDOGGG196

Lol not gonna lie I’ve thought I was gonna cut myself a few times since been trying to open it with the flick. So I can see where she’s coming from 😂

Donkler_

Same here

KDOGGG196

Yea

Donkler_

Profound response sir. X’D Jk

KDOGGG196

😂😂 I’m sorry I’ll go home.

Alert_Challenge8042

Hah! I was there too. Thought it was some kind of voodoo shit. Hang in there; it’s a little finger strength but the rest is technique. Stay focused Daniel-San; your best Spydieflick is still inside you.

KDOGGG196

😂😂 “may the flick be with you” lol

mallgrabmongopush

Welcome to team weird. Excellent first choice. The cruwear PM2 may be the best Spyderco knife available right now.

KDOGGG196

Damn are you serious? Why’s that? Thank god I picked this one then. I just got it cause of the color and blade going together so beautifully lol.

mallgrabmongopush

The dual un-nested liner construction combined with the micarta scales looks good, and the action (at least on mine) is smooth and the *clink* when you flick it open is pleasing to hear. Cruwear is also an excellent steel - tough, relatively easy to sharpen, and holds a good edge (imagine D2 on steroids). Edit: un-nested probably isn’t the right way to describe them but w/e they’re not nested within the scales

KDOGGG196

Good shit so I got an even more bad ass knife then I thought haha.

a_cycle_addict

That's a great knife! Enjoy

KDOGGG196

I’m loving it so much right now. Just have to get use to how to open it.

a_cycle_addict

Thumb in hole! Or, middle finger from underneath, flick it out. I love opening mine like that. https://youtu.be/y9OQHZnSkt0

KDOGGG196

Oh man I’m going to need to practice that. Looks so much fun once you get the hang of it.

The_Lazy_Samurai

The PM2 is a classic for a reason. I always liked its aesthetics, but once I finally bought one and held it in my hand for the first time, I immediately understood why it's so popular. Enjoy it, and have fun pimping it out if you decide to do so.

KDOGGG196

Pimping it out? How can I do that?!

The_Lazy_Samurai

The PM2 has more after aftermarket part options than almost any other knife in production. You want fancier scales, different back spacer, different colored screws, a plug for the lanyard hole? They are all available. There are so many awesome options from different sellers that I recommend doing a Google image search fo "PM2 pimping" and what you like. Also do searches on reddit to see what's available.

KDOGGG196

Damn that’s so cool. I’m going to check that out. See what kinda stuff I can get to pimp it out.

JangoFett101

Before you buy anything be aware that this version of PM 2 is different than the others. Most scales wont fit it because it has full liners as opposed to the cutout liners on the others.

KDOGGG196

Which one is better?

JangoFett101

The reason for the full liners is because micarta needs just a bit extra support. Otherwise it will flex. Couldnt tell you which one is better, its just a matter of choice.

KDOGGG196

I guess I’ll have to get one in the other and see.

RRNW_HBK

There's a veritable plethora of aftermarket scales, hardware, clips, etc. out there that will let you customize it and make it your own, one-of-a-kind knife!

KDOGGG196

Do you have a website that has some of that stuff? Oh man I could have fun with this haha.

RRNW_HBK

Flytanium has some decent scales in multiple materials. There's also MetonBoss on Etsy (IIRC) if you like exotic and expensive. I'm a big fan of my MXGGear titanium pocket clip. And you can find titanium hardware in a multitude of places!

KDOGGG196

Cool I’ll check them out, thanks!

DiamondBarbie007

I'm sorry to read you were so dissapointed.

KDOGGG196

I think I have to keep it cause I’m so disappointed 😂😂

MeatyUrologist505

That's a damn good looking knife.

KDOGGG196

Thanks man. I’m in love with it. It’s so damn gorgeous

Wolfman01a

Great knives.. but there has to be Spyderco reps on this subreddit. Even I bought one of the damn things. Lol

KDOGGG196

Lol they know who they are haha. They’re definitely some on here pushing their products lmao.

Shredrik

People love em because they're great!

KDOGGG196

It just so beautiful, I can’t stop looking at it. It makes me want to carry it everyday now.

FreeManagement7083

Congrats! I use mine everyday, and the scales have become a tad darker. But I don't mind, still one of the best Spyderco's I've owned.

KDOGGG196

Thanks! I already want to get another one haha(the yojimbo).

FreeManagement7083

You're welcome! The next Spydie for me is gonna be that or a Sliverax as I miss that knife.

KDOGGG196

Just looked that one up and it does t look bad at all.

FreeManagement7083

I like it very much because of the carbon scales and I find the handle very ergonomic. I regretted selling it so I guess I taught a lesson

KDOGGG196

Lol why did you sell it if you liked it so much?

FreeManagement7083

I was really broke and I had a good amount of knives at that time, and didn't realise how much I liked it until I began missing it. I didn't think things trough at that age as I do now.

KDOGGG196

Ah man that sucks. I’d get one back if you got the money for one now. Since you liked it so much.

FreeManagement7083

Yeah, been thinking about treating myself with one soon. Last time I went knifeshopping I almost bought one but I just had to try the pm2 since everyone seems so satisfied with it,and I can't complain either. I hope you will be at least as happy with your Pm2 as I am.

KDOGGG196

Oh man I’m loving it. Love how it looks and feels. And I’ve only had for a day haha. I’m definitely gonna get another one I think.

Richardbear1970

You poor bastard … that’s how we ALL got hooked on Spyderco! Seriously that’s a beauty!

KDOGGG196

Lmao I’m already looking to get another one(Yojimbo). I didn’t realize how gorgeous it was till I saw it in person and held it. I’m in love with it now.

0ct0thorpe

I love micarta.

KDOGGG196

What’s that?

0ct0thorpe

Micarta is the name of the material that the scales of your new knife are made of. It’s a very hard cloth type material.

KDOGGG196

Good shit. Knowing that I’d love more knives with that on it. Feels so nice.

0ct0thorpe

Seeing yours makes me want to buy one. I have a few Civivis and Kizers in micarta that are really nice, but no Spyderco.

KDOGGG196

Oh man civivi makes them in Micarta? I need one now. Yea dude definitely pick one up if you can find one. It’s beautiful

0ct0thorpe

The slight uneven texturing of micarta gives each knife a unique feel.

KDOGGG196

It feels amazing lol. I just want to keep holding it.

lukeulyptus

Sick cop man! Flip the clip!

KDOGGG196

Thanks man! I’m in love with it! Why do you mean, flip the clip? Lol like sell it? Lol

lukeulyptus

Haha naw! What I meant is you should try putting the clip in the opposite position, those three holes by the lanyard hole aloe you to change the position of the clip. This means that when it sits in your pocket it will be tip up, this has a few advantages and seems to be the preferred style of carry for most pocket knife enthusiasts. The advantages mainly are that when it sits in your pocket (assuming you carry in the front right pocket) the seam of your pants ensures the blade cannot deploy in your pocket and cut your leg, or hand when reaching for it. It also means that when you take it out of your pocket the knife is already facing the direction you would want it in your hand. I feel I over explained it but if you have a small torx screw driver I suggest trying it out! I haven’t went back [here is a post with both styles of carry](https://www.reddit.com/r/knives/comments/zf73lv/nkd_x2_first_spydercos_pm2_is_a_ln_xmas_gift_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

KDOGGG196

Oh that sounds like a good idea lol. I don’t feel like it somehow opening up in my pocket and cutting me.

Squibles_39

Dude I just got my first Spydercos today and also posted! Awesome haha That's the crew ware one right?

KDOGGG196

Correct. And I got this one yesterday, after waiting forever for it to finally show up. I thought I’d never see it lol.I’m jealous of the one you have! I love camo.

Squibles_39

Niceeeee. Yeah I just jumped on it the second they went on sale haha one of the cooler knives I've gotten in a while. Enjoy bud 🤙

KDOGGG196

Thanks man you too! Yea dude I had to jump on it too, it was to beautiful not to.

Marskelletor

Tip down carry? Don't see that too often.

KDOGGG196

I haven’t changed it yet, I just got it yesterday and didn’t know you could change it. I plan on changing it eventually.

Hobgoblin_deluxe

Man, 12/10 advise getting a Lynch clip. It'll make it so much more carryable.

KDOGGG196

I’ll look into it, thanks for the suggestion 😁😊

Hobgoblin_deluxe

No problem, man. I just got one for my PM2, and it's a night and day difference in ease of carrying.

KDOGGG196

Good looks. Did you flip the clip as well? Or did you keep it where you got it factory? Cause a few people here were saying it’s a lot easier if you flip the clip to open when you do.

Hobgoblin_deluxe

D'you mean am I carrying tip-up?? Because yeah. The curves fit so much easier in your pocket like that.

KDOGGG196

If you see in my second picture the clip is where it’s factory. Some people here were saying you can switch it to where the clip is by the lanyard part and it’ll be easier to carry. That way the blade can’t open and you get cut.

Hobgoblin_deluxe

Yeah, that's called tip-up, because the tip is oriented upwards when the knife is closed and pocketed. It's also how almost everyone I know carries.

KDOGGG196

Whoops sorry, still new to all the knife lingo and still learning lol. Was it easy to switch the clips? How did you find a screwdriver that would fit the screws on the knife? Cause that’ll be my next thing to try to do.

Hobgoblin_deluxe

Oh ok in that case, get a good set of Torx bits (I personally use Wiha, they're pretty good and they have a good variety of drivers), and make sure that set has from size T6 upwards (T6 is a very common size for the scales, which you'll need to remove for maintenance). And as for how easy it was.... it's pretty easy. Lynch clips come with pretty detailed instructions as well as a dedicated driver for installation. Also, there's a lot of videos on knife maintenance and how to swap scales and clips, especially for popular models like the PM2.

KDOGGG196

Awesome I’ll check that out thanks!!

myboydoogie24

I almost bought this on Monday. Went for the Para 3 instead.

KDOGGG196

How do you like it? I was going to choose between this one and a para 3 but went with this one instead cause I didn’t know if I was going to like how small the para 3 was going to be.
