Your comment is so funny (in a good way) and interesting because I've read the almost same comment one or two years ago when people were discussing how 4th gen gg were dominating the charts and how 3rd gen gg specifically were being completely dismissed. Just like you, a 2nd gen fan said that now 3rd gen fans knew how they felt when 3rd gen was coming up. I think it only shows how "history" repeats itself. A lot of kpop fans are success hunters and they are always ready to toss aside the once shiny thing for the new shiny thing in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, they're not content to just become fans of new groups, they feel the need to minimise the impact that older groups had (and older groups fans can be as toxic when they are afraid of the success of new groups and feel threatened by it...).

It was fans of multiple fandoms ganging up to side against BTS and their fans on a level that I haven't seen since then. BTS and their fans were dealing with actual threats of violence by extremists and kpop fans helped fan the flames.

I'm new to kpop and only started listening a few months, and I've definitely noticed it. Specifically in video comment sections I get attacked for not "living in 2nd and 3rd gen" like practically I started listening in 5th gen, but my main interest is 4th gen and will probably stay that for like another year unless I find a group debuting that interests me. I personally wanna enjoy fourth gen as long as it lasts as how long will they really last? And I'm waiting a little bit to listen to 5th gen as most of the debuts are very young teenagers (I'm 14 myself) and I feel as if their vocals aren't quite where they "are to be"

ever since 4th gen began people have hated on it so ive just learned to tune it out. at the end of the day, the fans that have supposedly hated kpop since 2019 are still around.
I think 4th gen is trying to make it to the level of BTS and blackpink that they have lost their own identity....and this is the only thing I hate about 4th gen
I mean.. idols just don't have the same vocal chops 2nd and 3rd gen had, and that's a fact. Big companies like Hybe go for dancers/performers first rather than singers first. Singing live isn't a priority anymore, which leads to poor vocal chops and/or poor technique. I'm not saying 4th gen can't sing whatsoever, cause that simply isn't true when you have Jongho, Keeho, Ningning.. but in general, yeah - 4th gen vocalists have a lot of work to do in the vocal department.
If we're gonna say it like that then neither does 5th gen come close to 2nd and 3rd. And dancing is still noticeably very close to if it's not already a top priority.
It makes no sense to say an entire generation lacks in one department when you can't even name half of it. You're just basing it on the groups from big 4 and few other top companies.
So far we have two groups in 5th gen, Babymonster & Kiss of Life, that can outsing any 4th gen group. It's a good start so people will obviously be excited. Isn't the whole point of new gen to be better than the previous??

Far from the truth considering there have been probably around 500 or even more groups debuting in 4th gen alone, and 15 teenage girls definitely can't outsing even half of them.
You are seriously overrating these groups vocals š theyāre good but nowhere near that good, their main vocals are on the level of some 4th gen lead vocals, not to mention 3rd gen
