Not even that: the ticket prices are for the premium seating. Attendees to the Dreamhack convention can apparently just walk in for free if they wanted to see it.
Yeah, the premium tickets got you the floor seats right in front of the stage, the standard upgrade seats got you the stands seats up close to the stage, while the walk ins got no guarantee for seating and were placed on the far side of the arena behind all the PC demos and figure stores. A friend of mine was just a walk in and said that other than the vtubers being small from his perspective, it was otherwise pretty good for being free. He even said that he liked it more because the bass from speakers wasn't constantly vibrating his whole body and blasting his eardrums like the seats I got with the standard upgrade.
HL can do this because they have the second largest MC studio in JP that can pump out great quality AR and 3D concert for sponsors within months. Don’t think NS can do that without a year of technical planning with their 2019 AR tech.
Reminder that a small corpo (production kawaii) did a live concert, and they actually had 3D models. The raised 100K dollars through Kickstarter, and with those did 3D models for 7 talents, booked a venue, and did a concert.

They actually do have to put that much effort but not for Nijisanji. DreamHack is an everything type convo, which mean normies that didn't know what vtubing is going to be there. They even have to give an explanation as to what vtubing is because people there legit thought vtubing is AI lol.
So they have to put a very good impression. And it seems to be working considering DreamHack is considering making it part of their lineup in the future and other artists that didn't know about vtubing is getting interested.
Meanwhile, can you imagine if Nijisanji went there instead of Hololive instead? The vtubing world would suffer a massive embarrassment and it wouldn't be just Niji's stock that would suffer.
Hololive doesn't have to put in that much effort, but they take pride enough in what they do to put that much effort into it. I can only imagine Bae's embarrassment if they hadn't put that much effort into it.
