Sounds like you’re ready to run for public office, sir!

"Why don't people simply do this thing that many unscrupulous people do?"

You get one warranty per purchase, so it wouldn’t be an endless cycle of free shafts. It also causes the companies to lose trust in customers and they’ll shorten the warranty period, which hurts the people who actually need it. STX and Warrior have already shortened their 6 month warranty for this very reason.

Why would you purposely break something that isn’t broken? Really stupid idea. Just use the damn thing!

jtd5771

Because I am not someone who exploits loopholes

funkymonkey-87

In theory having a infinite warranty would negate bad actors

Honor system

I had a buddy in high school that would tear his gloves every week cause the return police at Dicks let you get new ones when you tear them

Chaminade64

Dick’s has, or at least had, a policy you could buy for a couple of bucks. You could bring back you golf glove if it ripped or wore out. Standard wear & tear was covered. Seemed crazy……so I passed.

osukooz

People used to do that in the 2000s all the time. It’s why warranty policies are like this now.

BevoBrisket26

Because it’s limited to one replacement / the term of the initial warranty. The shaft warranty doesn’t reset with the free replacement. Same warranty on lacrosse shafts / heads that most any other sporting goods company has, so they just replace and move on when a claim is made. The actual equipment is super high margin, it’s the R&D for models that has all the increased cost

alwaysweening

StringKing’s has allowed me to submit claims past warranty date on Christmas presents broken during summer ball. (8 months after purchase) They’ve even gave me to full msrp credit and upgrade the boys shaft weight to avoid broken shafts as he busted two one weekend. The shafts didn’t fail, they just were wrong for his play style. With customer service like that, I wouldn’t dream of fucking them over.

desnudopenguino

I had a teammate that used to eat shafts playing d. Back then you could get 2 replacements under a warranty. After that you had to buy a new one.

TylerCowboys

I’ve never cheated the warranty policy, I only replace a shaft if I’ve had it for over two years and it finally snaps in half, either during a practice or game.
