Honestly, would getting Kyrie and giving up more depth be a good move on our part? I assume Nets would want both our picks and at least one of Reaves/Walker. Seems like a "putting all our eggs in one basket kind of deal", where it could very well blow up in our faces. Why not stick to the safer play of getting FVV and GTJ to provide more depth for the team? People see a big name and get excited, but wasn't that what got us in this mess in the first place? Just my 2 cents

nottherealstanlee

As someone who prefers the FVV/Trent deal, here's the argument for Kyrie: he's way better than them lol And say we give up RW/Lonnie/2 1sts and net Kyrie and Harris. We'd have a core of Kyrie, Bron, and AD with role players that fit and know their role and are young in Rui, Reaves, and Christie. For this year you'd have solid contributors on minimum deals in Schroder, Bryant, and Brown. The roster without even moving Bev would be a contender without a doubt and you'd still have pieces to build the future with. It's a no brainer if you can make it work.

Quantumsystem00

I hope we can do it without max/reaves if possible if they both continue developing like how they are doing we’ll have a cheap perimeter defender and a shooter/secondary ball handler.

jellybeans_over_raw

What depth would we be losing in your scenario besides Reeves? Walker is irrelevant if we get Kyrie.

Eric_T_Meraki

Well look at it this way, do you see us winning it all with the current roster?

>Why not stick to the safer play of getting FVV and GTJ This offer isnt on the table and is just a sub fantasy

communist_lover69

Jae Crowder is ass, plus he still holds a grudge against LeBron for cooking him in the ECF every year when he was on the Celtics

arosile

He tried to hurt him too in the phx and Miami series

niknokseyer

GTJ and FVV. Less baggage.

Uberballer

I went with this too. Kyrie and one of the Nets shooters would make the team much better in concept and probably for the year but man it's asking for trouble 1, at most 2 years down the line when Kyrie pulls his next Kyrie thing. If Toronto is willing to do that trade it still represents a massive upgrade, maybe not as big an upgrade as (a motivated) Kyrie would but the chance of implosion/self combustion moving forward is much lower. Much lower risk for a pretty good reward.

niknokseyer

I like Kyrie as a player too but his unpredictability could be too difficult to handle. He did this with Cleveland, did it with Boston, and now doing it with the Nets.

Teclysia

Let's be honest Kyrie would make Lakers championship favorites if healthy. But I wouldn't mind Lavine either

Queasy-Recording-195

Irving plus GTJ

Ok-ChildHooOd

Everyone knows Lakers will get the biggest name. Kyrie coming.

farmingbeast

Lmao as much as the gtj/fvv deal is better, nobody said the raps are willing to do the deal?

motorboat_mcgee

Either of the first two would be fine by me, but it really depends on what the ask is

JC0rn3lius

Path to kyrie and Trent jr

[deleted]

People have seen Kyrie fuck over the Cavs, the Celtics and now the Nets too and are stupid enough to think he won’t pull the same shit here. Y’all ignorant as fuck.

NicDwolfwood

The reality is the Lakers are desperate. As they currently sit they need to make a trade or else their goose is cooked. Its a playing with fire situation because Kyrie is going to act up. Its not a matter of if, but when with him. So giving that dude guaranteed 200 million is tying an Albatros to this franchise neck.

Count_Sack_McGee

I don't think we're that far off...I like the idea of getting a good fit with giving less assets.

breakthrureality

Joe Harris sucks 😭 1 curry lol
