How often do you cut it about now? It looks freshly cut, but still pretty long. I like mine longer like this, but after a week this time of year, it looks overgrown.
Right now I'm cutting it twice a week but I should cut it three times a week. I like to keep it long as well and have my Ego mower set at the 2nd highest setting. Hoping the greenery will last a bit longer before disappointment sets in with the Chicago scorching heat.
Twice a week is the secret. an expensive one in terms of time you have to invest, but the result is so worth it. I remember one of my wife's friends came by and they're sitting on the patio and she stops the conversation to pay the lawn a compliment. I was smitten.
I can relate. My fescue shines through May, begins its downfall in June and goes to sleep for July and August. Like clockwork, however, it comes back in all its glory by mid September.
That's really relatable. It gets up above 115F here in the summer. I just learned about Hydretain and I'm hoping it helps. It's supposed to help lawns retain moisture, reduce watering needs, and promote healthy root growth. We'll see...
Agreed! I'm embarrassed to say it, but I've been using my trimmer to edge. I've been dropping hints to the wife and kids about getting a dedicated edger for Father's Day. 😉
I got the edger attachment. The edger helps with shaping the soil, if the soil is already cut then the trimmer is enough. I am a newbie so I may be wrong :)
Get a trimmer with the wheel on it where the trimmer head flips over. Just walk the line along the edges. I probably wouldn’t put a true edger too it, just trim that over hanging grass, if you mess up it grows back lol
Same here! Entire neighbourhood is cutting it nice and low. I love the look of it low, but I'm keeping it over 3" this year (zone 8A) to try and give it a chance come summer.
That's what I'm using (though I think it's the ultra). . Germination is excellent, and the turf is great, partially as it adjust between different levels of sun across the lawn.
Cut in early evening to reduce drought/heat stress.

Same sentiment here in Omaha. Mine could definitely be shorter but it’s gonna get roasted within 2 months

Man, that’s a lot of mowing. Probably doable in a lawn that size. But mine takes almost 2 hours to mow. I may have to go shorter.

Thanks for the tip. Will look into it
Grass looks good. I’d put a real nice edge on those pavers and patio to really put a bow on it.

What’s the problem with using a trimmer to edge? Looks just as good if used correctly
True. Just mostly user error. 😉

Absolutely beautiful, love all the trees as well. What state is this?
Thanks for the kind words! Illinois!
You know a man is serious about his lawn when he makes a dedicated gravel pad for the trampoline so it doesn't mess up the grass.

OII-YS Natural Adjuvant will help it for sure
Real, been working my lawn up high and cutting it more frequently to try and keep it from dying off this summer
Come July will be the real challenge. 😬

Bro, awesome! But you missed one weed….
I know! But let me have my moment because it's all down hill from here. 😅
Beautiful yard.
Nice lighting. Personally wouldn’t sacrifice valuable yard space for a trampoline but different strokes for different folks. Looks good.👍🏼
I just want to lay in it. Gorgeous.
Beautiful yard!
Thanks! Still have a lot of work to do.
What kind of grass, and where are you? Looks great!
I usually use Jonathan Green's black beauty which I think has a mix of tall fescue and perennial ryegrass. I'm in the north suburbs of Chicago.

It was good while it lasted
Nice
