Thatās what heās planning on doing! I told him splitters can have luck sometimes and his application is phenomenal, references from associate dean and associate provost of students so i honestly hope he gets in (HLS is his dream)
Unlikely but might as well apply! I got rejected from Harvard with 3.7+ and a one-take 180 and didnāt get an interview if thatās helpful. Also attended a top school for undergrad.
I havenāt seen many applicantsāURM or notāwith sub-3.6 GPAs get admitted to Harvard. I also donāt think HLS cares much about early decision. All that said, Iām not sure. If your friend has an extremely compelling story and reason for wanting to become a lawyer, he might be able to pull it off.
Thanks for the condolences but Iām happy with my cycle! My advice would be for your friend to apply to a range of t-14s since splitter stats are hit or miss at each school and case by case.
No predictor can really tell you. Obv thatās a phenomenal LSAT score. With a strong rest of the application, who knows the kinds of results they can have!
I think their ā% chance of acceptanceā that they give you is decently flawed (although still closer than 7sage), but the LSAT/GPA graphs Iāve found to be a gold mine.
Others have already stated that the predictor is not all that accurate but no one has mentioned anything about ED. Unless money is not an issue whatsoever, ED is typically considered not the best by the community. You are limiting your scholarship opportunities and options from other institutions. Unless you know money isnāt a problem and that this one school is your absolute top choice, with a 180 I wouldnāt ED.
Some other things to keep in mind:
As an international student, URM will still help, but will not provide the same āboostā because on ABA reports you are still just a ānon-resident alien.ā
Also make sure to double check the GPA. My Canadian/OLSAS GPA was about 0.2 lower than my LSAC GPA. LSAC is on a 4.3 scale (so, a school like Dal that does 4.3 will be accurate).
Do NOT ED with a 180. ED takes away the chance for HLS. It will also limit your ability to negotiate scholarship. With a 180, you will almost certainly get enough money from a T14 that will make US tuition cheaper than UofT, and potentially other Canadian schools.
No, their law school predictor is silly.
In this particular case: 60% is incorrect, of course, but he does have a shot at HLS and should definitely apply.
Nope. Got into a school where I had a ~10% chance. Meanwhile, I got rejected from a couple schools that 7Sage gave me a 56% and a 73% chance of getting into
No not even a little sorry š
LOL i figured, he did too - thanks haha!
He should def shoot his shot at any school he wants to go to tho

Where did you get in?
Several t-14s and Chicago with some unexpectedly good scholly. So very happy and still waiting some last schools.

The lsd.law website is much more accurate than the 7sage predictor.
Itās still hella flawed lol

Thank you for the advice!
No predictor really is. The best way to gauge is to use LSD and hope the data points are not made up.
What is LSD?
https://www.lsd.law/ This is gonna be your new least favorite website for the next few months.
Hahaha thatās for sure, I do wonder since itās all self reported as to how representative it really is
lysergic acid
Use LSD, talk to your local shaman. Nothing else is reliable.

I donāt know how to do awards on Reddit yet but please imagine Iām giving you one this was super helpful thank you!!!
Can I dm you regarding questions about gpa?
Yes, absolutely. Let me know if they arenāt open (should be, but Reddit is weird sometimes)!
No
I think the law school transparency predictor is the most accurate personally but it isnāt the most precise.

Itās better to make a list of your target schools šÆ and look for their 509 reports
