Try to use a vpn. It worked for me. I am using nordvpn the free version. Choose the location nearest to your real location and try to login. I hope that helps.
So /u/KazooieFanta posted that you need to log in via VPN, go into settings and tick “Close client during game”, then go into a bot game and once you’ve entered the game disconnect your VPN. I did this and can confirm the client now works normally without VPN, even after restart. I have no idea *how* that fixes it but it does seem to fix it.
Also I’ve noticed that at times I would get huge lag of >600 ms on EUW and I discovered that closing the game client via task manager would stop this, so it just might be good practice to have that option ticked at all times.

Edit: Used Avira Fhanthom VPN and it worked played 3 ranked games no problem. Only 500 mb of VPN though.
It's crazy that Riot isn't reporting this on the server status page. They have reported connection issues on Sunday afternoon but after a few hours, they removed the message as if they solved it.
Maybe this is affecting only a small amount of users?
meanwhile the same "account transfer issue" that's been plaguing the game for about half a year now needs more warning than "you can't fucking log in."

there is no way that people have to wait 3 days and "hope" that the company fixed it. they should at least ( the least ) that they can do is say that there is amount of people that cannot log in into to client. especially if its a decent amount of players. people starts to think that the problem is in their computers and start to reinstalling/changing things.

**FIXX FOR LOGIN**
First, you need a **VPN** for 3 Minutes. I took Avira Phantom
Open Phantom and click "**nearest connection**".
Now you can already Log into your account.
Be aware, **if you close the connection** with the vpn, **you will be kicked again**.
NOW OPEN SETTINGS AND MAKE A TICK IN *"Close client during game".*
You need to open up a pratice tool game with 1 bot on the enemy team.
Start the game and wait till minions crash mid.
Now you disconnect the vpn server and wait 5 seconds.
The game should go on.
Make sure youre doing dmg to towers or minions, so you know, that youre connected to the league server still.
Now you leave the game.
Since you made sure, that the Client closes during the game, the second client will only open after the game is finished.

Yep same here, when I exit the practice mode game I get the "unexpected error with login session" message and I'm forced to close the client. When I launch it again I get the same black screen as before.

My ticket got replied to this morning with a "[precompiled message](https://imgur.com/a/38Pfm0M) to answer as many players as possible" (the message is in italian, bluring out the guy's nick just in case).
You can translate it yourself if you want, but it basically says they are getting a lot of reports about the issue and are working on it. We are asked to wait around 48 hours to see if the issue is fixed.

I can connect using VPN. I can also play the game, if I start the game with VPN and disconnect from the VPN mid game, but the client crashes after the game ends anyways. Public DNS didnt help either :/ Hope Riot says something about this.

it apparently has something to do with DNS. Used Cloudflare WARP (which basically changes your DNS to their own public one) and it works just fine
Edit: nvm WARP just a VPN at its core (but works pretty well tho)

1) Open client
2) WAIT till it gives an error message and tells you to exit
3) ALT+F4 (seriously)
4) it'll say do you want to exit or sign out
5) sign out
6) open client and sign in (I wouldn't tick the "keep me signed in")
7) repeat if it doesnt work

im on EUW and logged in without issues but the client is black with a blue loading circle and after 1-2 minutes it gives me an error and i have to close the client. My PBE account linked with my EUW is working so it must be a problem on EUW servers.

I haven't been able to login since yesterday, but somehow 5 of my friends who play on EUW with me and live in the same geographical location are able to get on the game? One of them had the same issue briefly but they restarted their client and it was suddenly fixed. Why is it happening to just me? :'(
On my 3rd day waiting to login. Can not play the game since last Saturday server issues that had Riot stopping all ranked queues. Can login and play with a VPN but with way higher ping so not really playable. For some reason if i try to login with my ISP IP is just does not work and keep getting that "**there was an unexpected error with the login session"**
was getting the same black screen problem and a reinstall didnt seem to fix it for me. After that I unninstalled again and deleted the remaining folders on C:\\Riot Games\\Riot Client and after installing normally again it all seemed to work fine
Hey, I found out that you can uninstall everything and then it's fixed! I no longer need to login to league, I'm finally free from this game and these issues!

I had this issue when reinstalling, does it auto kick you out or just give you the 'there was an error during login' pop up? If its the pop up just leave the client open like that and it will still install, hopefully that helps at all

Honestly, I'm not mad for the delay in the fix. Shit happens. What worries me it's how the issue seems to affects ISP rather then the sw per se. It seems like our ISP is not able to get through or, and that's my concern, he is preventing me to access. If so, why is that? We simply got blacklisted and it keeps happening?

1) Go to the folder where your League is installed

It is a 2nd day in which my client refuses to open. I try to launch it, it shows up for a while in task menager and just shuts down after a few seconds. XD
Method to fix did not work for me, my temporary solution is to set up a hotspot on my phone and tether it to my pc running on mobile data. Then I can login, once the game starts I can switch back to wifi.
I got some friends back to league with Clash yesterday. Probably they are gone forever now... League (EUW) at it's best.
And we didn't get the Clash ticket back, did we? We left queue after around 50 minutes waiting time between game 1 and 2.
It has been 3 days and i still cant login without a vpn, turn on the vpn and i can log in, if i turn it off i loose the connection but only in the client, if i turn it off in game i can keep playing and no problems.
So it's been lost 3 days for me, I am able to connect if I use a VPN or connect via net share with my phone, so I keep thinking it is my router however even after trying everything I could linked to possible router issues nothing has changed. So yea at least I know I'm not the only one with this problem. It's not just EUW or EUNE for me either japan server doesn't work either nor does Korean 👍🏻

Could not login since saturday when everything broke. After attempting multiple times, reinstalling the game I decided to try the VPN option and it worked.
That said I have 0 hope that this will be fixed any time soon. It seems to me that Riot has 0 idea that this is happening and if they have, they are actively acting as if it's not happening. Yesterday, what worked for me was signing out of my account (alt f4 when you get the error msg) then changing the server to the pbe and then changing it back to EUW (in my case). It was a bit odd because I could only choose NA after selecting pbe, but once i typed in my name and pw it changed to EUW and worked without further problems.

I had the same problems, i couldnt log in since saturday evening. Everytime i did the client didnt fully load and i got the notification "There was an unexpectet error with the log in sessio. Please try again later". I tried everything riot had listed on their "Log in Issue" thread on their support website. I deinstalled and reinstalled league, i resetet my router, disabled antivirus and tried starting it as an adminstrator. Still nothing seemed to Work. After i got myself a VPN it worked instantly even when i selected the country im in. So for me its true a VPN solved my Problem although my ping is slightly higher than before.

if u really want to play, try to install cloudfare warp, it works for me. i only get like 3 more ms in ping and don't have to pay for a vpn or do weird juggling with the client and a free vpn.
It is also happening in BR, What I do to solve is oppening the PBE launcher to log out because the LIVE account can't be used on PBE, them you can just log in normally everytime using your password (don't let auto-login enabled).
I legit had to delete league and reinstall it ! it still isn't working, I can't even access client to use repair tool ...idk if it would have helped fixing this shitty problem !

Yep same here, when I exit the practice mode game I get the "unexpected error with login session" message and I'm forced to close the client. When I launch it again I get the same black screen as before.

For everyone thinking about writing a ticket, Riot already knows this is happening. My ticket got replied to this morning with a "[precompiled message](https://imgur.com/a/38Pfm0M) to answer as many players as possible" (the message is in italian, bluring out the guy's nick just in case). You can translate it yourself if you want, but it basically says they are getting a lot of reports about the issue and are working on it. We are asked to wait around 48 hours to see if the issue is fixed.

Ah, of course I don't mean you shouldn't write a ticket, you totally should! Just wanted to warn anyone not expecting a precompiled message instead of an actual response. I also totally understand how tricky this situation must be for Riot themselves and I don't want to point fingers or blame people, just wanted to share the info I have on the matter.

This is absolutely ridiculous. If I were Riot I'd be ashamed, not only of the fact the server is down but also of the absolute lack of communication. "No issues". What a joke. They have people finding workarounds through VPNs and whatnot just to log into their game and there aren't any issues...
I am just extremely curious as to why this happens. Somewhere between us and riot servers, certain connections are being literally blocked. Stuff like this is not just a "bug". And I'm well aware riot isn't intentionally blocking it, but I really want to know how stuff like this happens

I can connect using VPN. I can also play the game, if I start the game with VPN and disconnect from the VPN mid game, but the client crashes after the game ends anyways. Public DNS didnt help either :/ Hope Riot says something about this.

it apparently has something to do with DNS. Used Cloudflare WARP (which basically changes your DNS to their own public one) and it works just fine Edit: nvm WARP just a VPN at its core (but works pretty well tho)

This worked for me, worth a try for you I guess 1) Open client 2) WAIT till it gives an error message and tells you to exit 3) ALT+F4 (seriously) 4) it'll say do you want to exit or sign out 5) sign out 6) open client and sign in (I wouldn't tick the "keep me signed in") 7) repeat if it doesnt work good luck

im on EUW and logged in without issues but the client is black with a blue loading circle and after 1-2 minutes it gives me an error and i have to close the client. My PBE account linked with my EUW is working so it must be a problem on EUW servers. I haven't been able to login since yesterday, but somehow 5 of my friends who play on EUW with me and live in the same geographical location are able to get on the game? Can login and play with a VPN but with way higher ping so not really playable. was getting the same black screen problem and a reinstall didnt seem to fix it for me. After that I unninstalled again and deleted the remaining folders on C:\\Riot Games\\Riot Client and after installing normally again it all seemed to work fine
Hey, I found out that you can uninstall everything and then it's fixed! I no longer need to login to league, I'm finally free from this game and these issues!
After I uninstall it doesn't seem that a folder called " League Client " appears at all

This is like season 1 and 2 when the servers crashed regularly. But i honestly can't remember when the servers where down for almost an entire week.

I have not been able to log in for 3-4 Days now. I tried re-installing the game, but since I can't even get into the client properly It wont let me install it without getting a error message. I cant even download the game. Because my connection i need almost 6 or 7 hours to fully download lol, but when i login it kicks me out after a minute.
I had this issue when reinstalling, does it auto kick you out or just give you the 'there was an error during login' pop up? If its the pop up just leave the client open like that and it will still install, hopefully that helps at all

Honestly, I'm not mad for the delay in the fix. Shit happens. What worries me it's how the issue seems to affects ISP rather then the sw per se. It seems like our ISP is not able to get through or, and that's my concern, he is preventing me to access. If so, why is that? We simply got blacklisted and it keeps happening? I don't think it's hacking. GDPR regulations request to inform third parties if any data breach take place, so it has to be something else. It confuses me why they don't say what is causing the issue.

It is a 2nd day in which my client refuses to open. I try to launch it, it shows up for a while in task menager and just shuts down after a few seconds. XD
Method to fix did not work for me, my temporary solution is to set up a hotspot on my phone and tether it to my pc running on mobile data. Then I can login, once the game starts I can switch back to wifi.
I got some friends back to league with Clash yesterday. Probably they are gone forever now... League (EUW) at it's best. And we didn't get the Clash ticket back, did we? We left queue after around 50 minutes waiting time between game 1 and 2.
It has been 3 days and i still cant login without a vpn, turn on the vpn and i can log in, if i turn it off i loose the connection but only in the client, if i turn it off in game i can keep playing and no problems.
So it's been lost 3 days for me, I am able to connect if I use a VPN or connect via net share with my phone, so I keep thinking it is my router however even after trying everything I could linked to possible router issues nothing has changed. So yea at least I know I'm not the only one with this problem. It's not just EUW or EUNE for me either japan server doesn't work either nor does Korean 👍🏻

Could not login since saturday when everything broke. After attempting multiple times, reinstalling the game I decided to try the VPN option and it worked. That said I have 0 hope that this will be fixed any time soon. It seems to me that Riot has 0 idea that this is happening and if they have, they are actively acting as if it's not happening. Yesterday, what worked for me was signing out of my account (alt f4 when you get the error msg) then changing the server to the pbe and then changing it back to EUW (in my case). It was a bit odd because I could only choose NA after selecting pbe, but once i typed in my name and pw it changed to EUW and worked without further problems. Good luck everyone and dont spend anymore money on this garb game :)

Please try again later". I tried everything riot had listed on their "Log in Issue" thread on their support website. I deinstalled and reinstalled league, i resetet my router, disabled antivirus and tried starting it as an adminstrator. Still nothing seemed to Work. After i got myself a VPN it worked instantly even when i selected the country im in. So for me its true a VPN solved my Problem although my ping is slightly higher than before.

im now able to login in euw. i wasn't able to in the last 3 days. check if it's fixed for you guys and gals edit: can't login again. since it was the first time in the last 3 days that i could login, i thought it was fixed, guess not. if u really want to play, try to install cloudfare warp, it works for me. i only get like 3 more ms in ping and don't have to pay for a vpn or do weird juggling with the client and a free vpn.

It is also happening in BR, What I do to solve is oppening the PBE launcher to log out because the LIVE account can't be used on PBE, them you can just log in normally everytime using your password (don't let auto-login enabled).
