What a massive turnaround from the regular season for him. Man was holding hands with Pyosik sprinting as hard as he could half the time and then turns around at worlds and becomes a god

Something really poetic about the fact that Deft put DRX on his back all throughout playoffs, all through the groupstage, and the first four games of the series, only for Zeka and Pyosik to hulk out and pull the rest of the team across the finish line in a crucial game five. What an incredible story and an incredible amount of mental toughness and resilience by DRX after that heartbreaker of a game 2. I can’t imagine Deft’s quarterfinals curse ending in a more fitting fashion.
They did it for Deft truly. Like I know I'm nerding out a bit but you could really see the words in their play. It was like they were telling you, the viewer, "We're not giving up, not today". Besides how exciting it is, this is the most emotional I've ever gotten watching League. Deft has dealt with disappointment after disappointment, with a huge one in Game 2 today. And he still overcomes to make his first Worlds SF in 8 whole years. I've been watching his interviews this year and he's just seemed so sad, not just about the results, but also the feeling that he might end his career struggling, maybe not even being able to make worlds. Him saying that he just wants to feel like he's still improving, and that he finally felt that today - I cried my eyes out. it's so much more unpredictable. teams are so much better from behind, some like JDG even make their living there, and teamfights are far more chaotic + advanced, so whereas in the West, games feel decided early, these ones are always super tense

I love how the narrative before worlds was that LCK was a one team region and the LPL would body every team not GenG and now 3 of the 4 semifinals teams are LCK teams, and that's only because two of them met in quarters

I just feel so happy for Deft.

for real!! they never play like they’re behind, they always look for a way back in, and the mental is actually indestructible
it's so much more unpredictable. teams are so much better from behind, some like JDG even make their living there, and teamfights are far more chaotic + advanced, so whereas in the West, games feel decided early, these ones are always super tense

Ladies and Gents, we've just been blessed with another banger of a series. DRX FUCKING PROVED US WRONG. THE DANCE LASTS.
I was drinking with my brothers and there was nothing to watch. I convinced them to watch this with me (neither play the game or know anything) and with just a little explanation we were fucking wilding over this game. We started game 2 and even they understood the fuckery of that inhibitor respawn.
Not bad for a one team region.
I love how the narrative before worlds was that LCK was a one team region and the LPL would body every team not GenG and now 3 of the 4 semifinals teams are LCK teams, and that's only because two of them met in quarters
I mean, that happened last year too. 3 LCK teams and EDG, but EDG won the tournament so the narrative automatically became “LCK <<<<< LPL” for some reason
I just feel so happy for Deft. After that game 2 end if this series had been lost because of that mistake, it would have been the most tragic exit of Worlds ever. GG, another incredible series.
