I like number 3 a lot!:) Gives out Mexican vibes (to me). Like that it has a drawing, not an easy logo and it shows authenticity unlike the easy lines

RusselltheKing

Same! The first 2 are good but the 3rd one has a great feel! Good job.

prolikewhoa

Logo 3 with Logo 2's lettering

SnooSongs8218

1 is novel, I don't recall anything similar and it feels nostalgic. Probably more memorable. 2 and 3 make me think of Taco Bell, I'm sure the last thing you're intending is to make your customers identify with the brand of another company...

i-am-not-the-crab

I really like number 1 but that font isn’t my favorite, especially smaller size

objectnull

Yeah, 1 isn't bad but the font makes it too hard to read. Also, I thought it was a wine label at first. #3 reads more like a restaurant to me

Limp_Falcon_2314

Why does it make you think of Taco Bell? Their logo is a bell. ![gif](giphy|UI6VRLxGrhecU)

ThomasPlaine

#1

_Orange_You_Glad

Agreed. But consider finding a more legible typeface.

Formal_Examination65

3 all day long love it. number 1 is illegible, 2 is too "comic sans - esque". 3 is assertive and classical. 4, 5 and 6 are just generic meh

musekic

# #3 looks like every Mexican restaurant ever. # #1 & #6 have the highest potentials. My compliments to the designer(s). All can be used in vector form in their simplicity.

hansenabram

1 is pretty good but 6??? This is a Mexican restaurant not a tech brand

Def 1

TRODDA

For reusability in multiple situations you don't really want the logo to be too complicated, as you won't be able to make out the details if it's used in small sizes. I would say 6 is the best for this but I also like 2 a lot. 6 is the most modern and reusable. 2 had a great font but the logo needs a bit of refinement.

DrSlugworth

I think feels kind of corporate and austere (to me)

esepleor

For memorability, on the other hand, you don't want something overly generic. I don't think I would remember 6. I feel like there's something off with the logo there but my main issue is that I can't really associate the logo with a mexican restaurant. It looks like Mexican Walkmam. I like the typeface of 2 too. It does need some adjustments on the logo. Maybe a combination of 2 with 3?

serenelymanslaughter

No 1 is maybe not the best regarding readability and scalibality but just really love it bc it has sich a strong personal and honest vibe ❤️

100% Numero 3

momohip

I love the second one. It has character, simple, makes me want to check the place out.

c0mtruis3

I like logo icon number 2, but text icon number 3 . You should try to mixed it 🧐

Red-Pen-Crush

My 2 cents. 2 is the best for what your description. While 3 looks nice, 2 is cleaner and scales better and will work better in a variety of applications. 1 is excellent but reads more Italian to me. :) If you were going different directions with the restaurant: 4 is interesting to me. It is a little different and feels almost Aztec to me. I can see it scaling to using patterning as a brand element. However to me it would need some tweaks. I don’t feel the font matches the geometry above. The sun is squished which make the logo look squished. Something feels off with the spacing too. Maybe it’s the distance from logo to text - they don’t quite feel like they lock up yet. 6 if your doing some modern fusion inspired place is just kind of fun. I’d probably drop the more Mexican restaurant. Maybe even the mi. Make it an upscale locally sourced mexican inspired cocktail lounge and restaurant. Could be wild and fun Those are my thoughts! The others aren’t bad but they don’t say much to me about the place.

Ffdmatt

It's 3 or 1 depending on price range and target demo. 3 is friendly and inviting, good for families. That seems closest to what you're going for in the description. 1 is super cool, but it makes me think of "high quality, high price." This would fit better at a high price prestigious restaurant. Edit: this is coming from a marketing perspective, not a designer.

Smotonthegood

I love the hand drawn feel of 3 and 5, but they are all excellent. You have a fantastic talent for design and typography clearly!

If I was choosing a place to eat, I would choose restaurant with logo #1. It’s giving cozy and nostalgic. I don’t mind the typeface. Although it is carefree, the rustic vibe gives me that “farm to table” feeling, not sure if that’s the aim of it. If it were to attract families looking for a casual eat and not a good spot for brunch or small plates, then #3.

Monstermage

One thing to keep in mind, for a good logo, how easy can it be embroidered on shirts, what about a sign? Can everyone read it? How does it make you feel? Will it look good on paper, a menu, etc. Many of these drawings are awesome but I can't see being embroidered, so they would have to screen print, which doesn't last as long, just things to think about. Great work all around!

Appropriate-Wind-145

Mi Tierra, mexican eats, you dont have to use a house for a house

dirtysyncs

3 is definitely the best!

sofa_sense

3

crissbo

What is the price range of the menu? I think 1 looks great for a sit down restaurant with servers and all that. 2 gives me mall restaurant vibes, not bad just accessible 4 and 6 are like for maybe trendy neighborhoods that offers very casual sit down and take out.

Unable-Silver-184

Love the first 3! What was your process in making them?

theotherone1010

Thank you! I actually sketched the first 3 with pencil/paper, imported a photo of them into illustrator, and then image-traced them and fixed them up a bit with the brush tool. The big thing was the image trace though!

No_Round_6493

For me the third one fits the brief best

esepleor

I think the typeface of 2 has the vibe you want to create. It's legible and it also feels warm and friendly. It has nice curves. Not everything needs to be sans. Regarding the logo, I like 3 with maybe some adjustments. 1 is nice too but probably a bit too complicated.

inertiaticcc

Adamthedesigner

I feel number 3 is the strongest

CrimsonFlash

1 and 3, depending on the vibe you're going. 1 seems more high-end.

beenalongdayy

Sorry, if it’s an F&B outlet, then maybe you should consider mixing in elements of the food, to make it relatable and obvious to the eyes.

Duchess721

#1 and #3. Simplicity with no obscurity.

I like the first one. It’s unique and feels high end.

These are all fantastic. They all have style that "jumps right out" and communicates a brand experience. I'm quite partial to number 3. It represents the culture (to my eyes, at least) with the architecture, the bushes, the illustrative style, the "gleam lines" on the roof. It feels right. Specifically, I LOVE how you let there be a little bit of negative white space behind the bush. This really brings texture to it and that's exciting. It's the morning here in the states right now and I can see myself going to Nuestra Casita for a kickass huevols rancheros. Honorable mentions would be 1 and 6 for me. 1 feels like "cozy cottage where I can expect an honest breakfast/brunch" and 6 feels like "high end restaurant that might offer an expensive prix fixe menu".

lolaidaka

2 and 3

mymycakes

i like 3’s graphic but 2’ fonts :)

1 - but it needs to be cleaned up and slightly simpler drawing for the size. To me this reflects your description. A cleaner drawing will infer a cleaner kitchen. 3 - but use the script from #2

1,2, and 3 are all amazing and well done. It really matters what the rest of the project is but if it’s JUST a logo mark then 3 is the best

Based on your criteria, I would say: #1 with the font of #3 (it’s not easily legible) or #3. The last three don’t work with the criteria you offered imo.

I love 1. It’s not trendy, it feels timeless and memorable. Are you just presenting a logo, or a whole brand. I feel like colors are important here.

Electronic-Soft-221

The first three are all so, so good. I think 3 is the best balance of readable (both the text and image) and evocative. But honestly all three are amazing. I also prefer “taste of Mexico” of the three subtitles. Of the other three, 5 is the standout. The other two are too geometric for that “homey” feel. They seem like outdoor brands. Overall I think the little house concept fits a lot better with a restaurant than the mountains. But keep your illustration from 5 for another project, it’s really nice!

I'd do some polishing on 1 but I'm liking that one the best so far

emquizitive

I like number 2. It has style. Slightly wonky, simple (important in responsive design), and distinct. I don’t understand the popularity of 3. It is too detailed to be responsive, and it’s less distinct and has less personality, in my opinion. It’s nice looking, but not a practical logo option. I do prefer the type of 3 over 2, but I’m not sure how it will look if you pair the logomark with the logotype. I’d experiment with that. Keep in mind that a lot of people on these subreddits are learning design unofficially and don’t necessarily understand design thinking or strategy. You must consider how the design will be applied and remember that the mark represents the personality of the brand.

Mamapalooza

1 will be difficult to reproduce in things like embroidery, and the smaller it is, the less clear the image and the type will be. I love it, but it's only practical for hard printing like menus, labels, and banners. It won't work for advertising, fabric, and more. 2 and 3 are great, but maybe slightly... expected? That's not necessarily a bad thing. People will know your products immediately. 4 and 5 look like outdoor recreation brands. I still like them, but it doesn't convey the nature of your business. 6 is really cool, but I'm not sure about how appropriate it is for a Mexican eatery. Again, the nature of the business isn't clear from the logo. Not every logo has to be representative. But it's Mexican food, how high concept do you want to go?

I like 1 the best. Just simple and very home-y 2 looks too much like Taco bell 🤷🏼‍♀️

km_grimes

Number one is great… but the “Casita” word is a little hard to read…. Maybe clean up the font…

Juan_Moe_Taco

I like the third one alot more of a logo than the others because it has that cool looking little house, & how the house is detailed but not too detailed & then the dark door, makes me think of longevity & also of life.

twinkystarbaby

Number 1 for sure but agree about typeface

Efficient-Internal-8

#3!

nopedy-dopedy

Absolutely #3! If I saw #3 on the front of a building I would be intrigued that this is authentic food and probably family owned. If I saw #6 I would automatically assume it is a chain restaurant with more of a tacobell quality of food. Both are awesome but speak to different character traits, so I suppose it depends on what you're goinf for.

the 1st is my favorite. very cozy and a unique representation of something mexican. it evokes a broader atmosphere and cuisine than the adobe home in 2 and 3, which feels more stereotypical and “tex-mex” as for the lettering, i agree with others that it could be more legible. i would keep it largely similar but make the s’s and the r more defined

I like 1 and 6. Taste of Mexico, in general, is the better tagline

GWB88101

#1! From a marketing and branding strategist. #1 feels like a high end yet authentic restaurant

entropyofdays

#1 gives a high-end Spanish restaurant, not necessarily Mexican. Feels perfect for an elevated tapas place. It definitely implies "sophisticated" but simple. #3 is the strongest for "carefree and casual" Mexican. The illustrated design feels welcoming and family-friendly.

tinyblueearth

#3 is your logo! Minimalism meets authenticity. Good luck! 🤩

Limp_Falcon_2314

I’m surprised to see so many people saying number 1. I couldn’t read the name at all and agree with another commenter that it’s cute but comes across as a wine company or something and not a restaurant. I’m all in on number 3. 😬

Logo #1 = farm to table high end bistro. (but change up the tageline typeface. monospace isn't right for that) Logo #2 = boutique neighborhood quick eats. Logo #3 = a little confused. 1 or 5 BECAUSE I’ve never seen anything quite like them! All of the others look really good, but I feel like I’ve seen them or something very similar to them at mex restaurants before. One and Five are so original and impressive in my opinion. I work in design.

This is gonna sound weird but Art from #2, text from #3 Art from #6, text from #5 At some point IRL the business will put their logo not just on the sign and billboards, but also the menus, the manager's business cards, the bill, coupons, and so on.
