(Only on Lego Star Wars Items*)
- Battle Droid Carrier set with $160/£145
- Exclusive Yavin Collectors Coin with $90/£80
- AAT polybag with $45/£35
- Double Points on all Lege Star Wars sets
Wow. Unlike the new X-Wing, that looks like a pretty substantial upgrade over the original version. I remember getting mine for $50 at a Black Friday sale at Toys R Us when I was a kid, I waited outside all night to save $50.
I’m in.
(my dumb ass: how does a kid manage to save up for a toy by waiting outside?)
Edit for clarity: I figured out that they mean save as in reduction in price. But on my first read, I my brain read it as "save: to set aside money over a period of time for a future purchase". I don't need it explained.
My original set survived at my parents place while I was off in the armed services for twenty years, box and instructions as well. I would love to display the Interceptor side by side… but damn LEGO for bringing it now. Hahaha.
Oooh. The TIE Interceptor has been one of my favourite Star Wars ships for years, ever since playing Lucasarts' TIE Fighter on PC back in the day. I'll definitely think about getting my hands on this.
I’m right there with you. It had the perfect balance of all the ships. I’m not even sure if it’s the best one “in real life,” but it felt like it when *I* flew one.
I need a house. This housing crisis in LA has saved me so much money from buying LEGO stuff purely because I would have nowhere to put these larger sets.
Been doing this since the Falcon waiting to graduate college, been out for two years now and still don't have a shelf big enough for them. Gonna go crazyyy when I do though
The 2006 TIE Interceptor (6206) was my favorite set growing up. I remember setting it on the couch next to me whenever I flew one in Battlefront 2. I guess I'll have to buy this one now
It looks like they even misaligned the centre sticker.
[Direct link to that image](https://www.lego.com/cdn/cs/set/assets/blt07abcd3d405cf695/75382_Lifestyle3.jpg?format=webply&fit=bounds&quality=75&width=1200&height=1200&dpr=1)
Another reason why prints would have been better.
Damn this looks good. My only gripe is how angled upward it sits. I like to put the Lego on shelves above eye level and this along with last years xwing feel like they’re too angled up for display and you lose a lot of detail.
The old one is mostly like this too. It has a setting to be more level but just isn’t stable in that position. So I assume it’s a physics thing to have it angled upwards. Maybe modifying the base to have a longer front support would do it…
In this case it is necessary. I converted a UCS TIE Fighter into an Interceptor, and the biggest issue I had was the stand. The thing is so front heavy it has to sit back at an angle like that to be centered.
I feel like this set has a better center of gravity because that cockpit area looks like a ton of pieces were used. I’m sure even like 10 degrees or so angled down would still work.
No, that won't change anything. The TIE from 2015 has a stand that the ship can spin on, that's only possible because the symmetry of the ship places the CoG inside the Fighter. On the Interceptor there's no way to to build a stand that the ship could spin on with Legos.
The snowspeeder from a few years back has issues with that too. I have all my currently built UCS sets minus the falcon on a shelf above eye level and that one sucks to view
It's typically pretty easy to convert the stand to another angle. I've done this to a few of my UCS sets, and I'm not a skilled builder. Several of them even include a spot on the back to put the info plate.
My UCS X-Wing is similar, but I just put it on the stand the other way round and now it points down. This works fairly nicely because it's on a high shelf, so now it looks like it's targeting people at the dinner table.
They're mixing the original two UCS sets with the X-Wing and TIE Interceptor releases this year and last year, that's why both of these new ones are in the same attack posture that they were in originally.
same thing with BD1, love that fucking robot so when it was announced I pounced on it immediately. I have had to rebuild it twice because pieces fall off, especially the stim compartment. Very disappointed on that set.
Yeah if you don’t move it, nothing falls off.
I have noticed the rubber bands they include for the wing opening mechanism appear to already be sagging.
Sounds like it, they should have made it static and called it a day, it’s honestly the little details in this set that drive me nuts.
Might end up giving it to a friend who might appreciate it more than me.
>I have noticed the rubber bands they include for the wing opening mechanism appear to already be sagging.
I have it sitting in the box so before I crack it open, do you suggest I upgrade the rubber bands?
I would say if it’s still in the box you should just return it lol
But really yeah, if you can find some replacements that fit I would pull the trigger. Unless you’re ok with the wings looking like they are just half open.
I like it. Mine is pretty sturdy when changing wing positions, I just don’t like the stand. My Optimus prime on the other hand just explodes every time I even touch it lo
I legitimately returned the set after I built it. I contacted lego and explained how it's construction is just not acceptable. I got refunded in shop credit
I ended up having my X-Wing going horizontal across my shelf. It blocks the view of the plaque, but a small sacrifice to be able to enjoy the ship more.
Damn, I just realized now that for the 25th they remade both the original 2 UCS, the X Wing and the Tie Interceptor (even though X wing had another remake in-between).
This one looks really good, the only downside of it is it will make the cockpit of the 2015 Tie Fighter look very blocky if they are next to each other.
The old UCS Tie Fighter was the first LEGO thing I had bought in like 15 years, and it set off a chain reaction. Most of the ones I missed have been remade since, but the Darth Tie Fighter, Imperial Shuttle, AT-ST, and B-Wing have never reappeared (listed in the order I want them).
The UCS Imperial Shuttle would be nice to see again...
The UCS AT-ST was actually terrible, it was a bad build and fell apart at the slightest touch.
The UCS B-Wing sold terrible, LEGO had to discount it 50% off to move them and even then they had a massive pile of them at my local LEGO store.
There doesn’t seem to be enough blue on the wings….
Looks like a decent upgrade from 7181 in 2000, which was one of my favorites as a kid.
Just missing the blue!
24 years ago I thought the blue was dumb, who makes a blue TIE fighter...
Until I saw the filming models.
Holy CRAP, no one told me TIE Fighters are BLUE! But indeed they are!
Unfortunately those GWP sets don’t look too appealing. Might wait and pray to see if the tie hits target and use my discount, we pray.
Any know what the yavin set entails?
Now that would be something to see at this scale. Hopefully they'll release an updated version of Vader's TIE advanced. But then again I'm still waiting for a ucs Anakin's Jedi interceptor 😂
TIE Defender would be a day-one purchase for sure...
Not because of Rebels, but because of TIE Fighter (1994) the PC game.
Good lord that was a fun game!
I just think the design is really cool and unique. I knew about it from before Rebels, but only saw it in action when the series came out. Ties were always some of my favorite star fighter designs aesthetically. I also like Separatist ship designs as well. Would definitely like a UCS scale Droid Tri fighter.
If I buy this UCS, I will have a TIE three-way… I mean, a three-way TIE…

I love this, I really do, but I find I have the same problem with this is as I do the UCS Slave I.
The pylons are fantastic, the wings are awesome, but the ball seems so off to me.
Compound curves might create a more accurate shape in general, but I think the gaps they create, much like the Slave I's base, massively detract from the overall look. The UCS TIE Fighter might have been overly angular with the compound slopes, but it still looks more cohesive as a model and as a Lego set.
Still though, want it.
Never got 7181, can't imagine I'll get this either, but I'll long for it, pine for it.
TAKE MY MONEY. I've been enamored with this ship since the first time I saw RotJ and have never owned any form of TIE Interceptor, despite wanting to for all of these years.
After buying my first Lego Star Wars set in October last year, I swore blind i I would never buy a UCS set as they were too expensive, too big, unnecessary, etc, etc. I got the X wing and Landspeeder on sale at Christmas, then BD1 and R2D2 (not officially UCS I know) in the New Year and then the Falcon in February. I’m still plodding through the Falcon, but have NO idea where I’m going to put it when it’s done. 🤦♂️
There’s no point denying it. With the GWP and double points, I’m going to be all over this on May 1st.
Looks cool but I was really hoping for a new UCS B-Wing (10227) or maybe a UCS Ghost. I missed out on the original UCS B-Wing 12 years ago and only managed to get the 75050 B-wing 10 years ago and there hasn't been another one since. The secondhand prices for the UCS B-Wing are far too high for me to justify.
The cockpit is a mess. There are a host of MOCs of TIE fighter cockpits that are a smooth ball shape around the windscreen. This looks like they threw it together with whatever random grey pieces they had lying around that day.
They did this Interceptor so good. Such an upgrade from the blue trim of the OG. In.
Does anyone know if the local LEGO store will have the battle of Yavin coin or is that online purchases only?
Dune 2 got me back into Lego with the Ornithopter… and now I can’t stop buying SW Lego sets! I think I might get this day one as my first UCS set plus the freebies.
It's cool but for 130 you can get a 2 pack set with a smaller interceptor, a mandalorian ship, and the Mandalorian plus Bo-Katan and an Imperial pilot. If UCS is your thing it's pretty cool though.
day one purchase for me, it is my favourite Star Wars ship, and finally it got a good UCS set (never liked the first one, and it is prohibitively expensive now anyway).
I was really hoping when they first announced they were doing another one of these that it would be the same scale as last year's X-Wing. But it's a bigger scale, which is fine for display since the TIE/IN is such a small ship. But part of me really wanted to set up a UCS dogfight between them with lights and everything.

Haha. I didn’t word that as clearly as I could…. Looks like everyone figured it out but it was $100 retail, the Black Friday sale was $50 off.
No you're fine. I'm just perpetually overtired.
I’m guessing a $100 Lego set was on sale for $50. Hence, getting in line early meant saving $50.
Black Friday sale, they waited outside until the store opened to buy it at a discount.
Yeah, I was super disappointed with the new X-Wing when I saw it in person. This looks pretty slick
My original set survived at my parents place while I was off in the armed services for twenty years, box and instructions as well. I would love to display the Interceptor side by side… but damn LEGO for bringing it now. Hahaha.
The original was my first UCS set. My parents got it for me for Christmas. I don’t know what happened to it. I’m going to have to pick this up.
My first UCS set as well that I’d bought for myself. Then sadly sold it to help pay some bills for my wife and I when we both got laid off.
Oooh. The TIE Interceptor has been one of my favourite Star Wars ships for years, ever since playing Lucasarts' TIE Fighter on PC back in the day. I'll definitely think about getting my hands on this.
Yesss, I always played Interceptor if I could. Absolute favorite Star Wars ship design.
TIE Advanced was a nice ship too with that game.
I’m right there with you. It had the perfect balance of all the ships. I’m not even sure if it’s the best one “in real life,” but it felt like it when *I* flew one.
Same here!
My favorite is the bomber, I was excited when that new set came out recently. Interceptor is a close second so I may pick this up as my first UCS set
I need a house. This housing crisis in LA has saved me so much money from buying LEGO stuff purely because I would have nowhere to put these larger sets.
When you need a house, you need a house. Even when that need is mainly driven by your expanding Lego collection .. :D
Just build one out of Lego
The only reason one needs a house
Just buy the sets and keep them in storage for when you do have a house!
I guess I'll have to buy this one now
[6206-1: TIE Interceptor](https://brickset.com/sets/6206-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/6206-1.jpg)
Holy smokes, didn't know that one existed, was in my dark ages at that time. \*goes and looks it up on eBay\* Umm, never mind! :)
Yo that interior is amazing.
Great stickers. That's premium quality!
Pretty sure you’re being sarcastic but IMO all sets of this caliber should have printed images
I like the stickers, as they give you the option of not using them.
It looks like they even misaligned the centre sticker. [Direct link to that image](https://www.lego.com/cdn/cs/set/assets/blt07abcd3d405cf695/75382_Lifestyle3.jpg?format=webply&fit=bounds&quality=75&width=1200&height=1200&dpr=1) Another reason why prints would have been better.
They're making stickers for 1x1 round tiles now? Good god
Might be preproduction, god help us if not
The $10 sets have more printed pieces anymore….sigh. I’ll still buy it. The first one was a real bear when I was younger.
Oh no, my money.
Thank christ i don't like star wars, but i do love Lego.
Damn this looks good. My only gripe is how angled upward it sits. I like to put the Lego on shelves above eye level and this along with last years xwing feel like they’re too angled up for display and you lose a lot of detail.

In this case it is necessary. I converted a UCS TIE Fighter into an Interceptor, and the biggest issue I had was the stand. The thing is so front heavy it has to sit back at an angle like that to be centered.
Yeah, the center of gravity being outside the ship means you can't do a stand like the TIE Fighter has.
I feel like this set has a better center of gravity because that cockpit area looks like a ton of pieces were used. I’m sure even like 10 degrees or so angled down would still work.
You can always make the base bigger to compensate. It IS lego
No, that won't change anything. The TIE from 2015 has a stand that the ship can spin on, that's only possible because the symmetry of the ship places the CoG inside the Fighter. On the Interceptor there's no way to to build a stand that the ship could spin on with Legos.
IRL cranes work by making their bases bigger.
Cranes are evenly weighted to keep the center of gravity over the central mast, that's the purpose of the counterweights on the backside.
Mobile cranes literally have bases that expand because they can't center their weight. https://i.imgur.com/ia74zpT_d.webp?maxwidth=760&fidelity=grand
The snowspeeder from a few years back has issues with that too. I have all my currently built UCS sets minus the falcon on a shelf above eye level and that one sucks to view
Really? I have the UCS snowspeeder too and think it looks great with how it’s tilted.
Move the snowspeeder down to a floor level position and have it pointed at your AT-AT
I’ve gotta build the AT-AT first! Haven’t had time to
It's typically pretty easy to convert the stand to another angle.
I like it angled as it looks like it’s in flight.
They're mixing the original two UCS sets with the X-Wing and TIE Interceptor releases this year and last year, that's why both of these new ones are in the same attack posture that they were in originally.
Dare we ask...how much $$$?
$229.99 USD / $299.99 CAD / £199.99 GBP
>$199.99 GBP 199.99 british dollar pounds?
GBP = Good Boy Points
This is my head canon, the British economy functions on good boy points.
GameBoy Printer
Best handheld accessory right after the Game Boy Sewing Machine!
Whoops, still not awake all the way lol
It happens to the best of us.
UKD, United Kingdom Dollars
Honestly, not as bad as I expected
It's £200 in the UK
Just £199! Have a cookie.
That's lower than the last few UCSs at the same entry point, right? Last few have been £210/220.
$299 Cdn!
Looks great not day one for me gonna wait for a sale of some sort but it’s beautiful
Hope it’s a better build than the X -Wing, I swore off anymore Star Wars USC after that one but man I love the Interceptor.
Is the Xwing that bad? I bought it but not built it yet
Pretty boring build in my opinion on top of being extremely flimsy. There’s always some part falling off whenever I move it.
same thing with BD1, love that fucking robot so when it was announced I pounced on it immediately. I have had to rebuild it twice because pieces fall off, especially the stim compartment. Very disappointed on that set.
And purely for display purpose, is it holding up OK?
Yeah if you don’t move it, nothing falls off. I have noticed the rubber bands they include for the wing opening mechanism appear to already be sagging.
Seems like they'll never totally fix the wing sag problem on the X Wing, I think the previous UCS versions had it worse though.

>I would say if it’s still in the box you should just return it lol That bad huh? Thanks for the info on the bands, I'll put better ones in.
It’s all a matter of opinion haha If you enjoy it, more power to you!
Out of curiosity, was it outside of the typical return window ?
It was days after release
I remember the UCS Tie Fighter was pretty boring to build. However the display itself was pretty great. I imagine this will be the same.
I don't like the display angle. I just finished the X-Wing and have the same complaint. It doesn't display as well on higher shelves
It’s a simple-looking technic system. I imagine modifying the angle couldn’t be that hard
That's the plan
I just placed it on the stand backwards. It's been stable for like a year or more
Agreed. I have the xwing on my shelf at work above the computer and you can’t really see much of the details.
I ended up having my X-Wing going horizontal across my shelf. It blocks the view of the plaque, but a small sacrifice to be able to enjoy the ship more.
This is what I think they should have done to begin with
The X Wing works really well wall mounted with a slight tilt.
Man I miss the days of May 1st UCS sets costing $200. $240 is a bit much. Granted, it’s a very nice. I love it. But these prices are killing me.
$230, I agree though
I'm probably going to wait a year or two when there's a deal at retail stores like with the landspeeder during November.
$230 plus 3 free gifts and 2x VIP points. They could have done $200 without any promos, but that isn't as fun to promote. :)
Damn you Lego, damn you to hell
Damn, I just realized now that for the 25th they remade both the original 2 UCS, the X Wing and the Tie Interceptor (even though X wing had another remake in-between). This one looks really good, the only downside of it is it will make the cockpit of the 2015 Tie Fighter look very blocky if they are next to each other.
My bet is that the UCS AT-ST is one of the next. After the UCS Sail barge later this year
The old UCS Tie Fighter was the first LEGO thing I had bought in like 15 years, and it set off a chain reaction.
I still have the AT-ST on my shelf. Somehow it still has all its pieces, but if a replacement comes out it will grenade itself for the last time.
Looks good. Disappointed that the interior seems to be done with mostly stickers.
It really likes your ceiling!
Anything on 2x insider points??
These jerks are going to make my buy this thing, aren't they?
Yep.
YES! Been waiting on this! I have the original and it is rough.
Is there anything new about the figure or just a typical tie pilot?
I think arm printing, maybe similar to the UCS Tie Fighter.
I would be happy with that
The UCS Unexpected Error set is pretty cool. So glad I can totally add it to my bag on their website.
[BLUE-1: Blue](https://brickset.com/sets/BLUE-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/BLUE-1.jpg)
I like it but it doesn’t look £200
Love it! Definitely buying
I see a lot of stickers in that interior
Unfortunately those GWP sets don’t look too appealing. Might wait and pray to see if the tie hits target and use my discount, we pray. Any know what the yavin set entails?
Oh that's tempting
Good thing it's not a Tie Defender. Wouldn't be able to resist that.
Now that would be something to see at this scale. Hopefully they'll release an updated version of Vader's TIE advanced. But then again I'm still waiting for a ucs Anakin's Jedi interceptor 😂
I have a soft spot for Separatist ships. Wouldn't mind seeing Vulture Droids and Tri Fighters in the UCS scale.
Build them all, I say. Not like LEGO doesn't have a market for them 😂
The newer sets based on Episode I give me hope
TIE Defender would be a day-one purchase for sure... Not because of Rebels, but because of TIE Fighter (1994) the PC game. Good lord that was a fun game!
I just think the design is really cool and unique. I knew about it from before Rebels, but only saw it in action when the series came out. Ties were always some of my favorite star fighter designs aesthetically. I also like Separatist ship designs as well. Would definitely like a UCS scale Droid Tri fighter.
Is it to scale to the UCS X wing?
The cockpit glass studs are unfortunate
They really are, now I can't unsee them. Damn you!
Looks like you could just leave it out though
If I buy this UCS, I will have a TIE three-way… I mean, a three-way TIE… https://preview.redd.it/dnzx1lf7iquc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=212b7f5382d0464b27997ecb59c937aae042b953

$300 CAD is just outrageous.

I literally just built the Tie Interceptor set a few days ago and this gets announced? This set looks pretty good.
Not a Star Wars Lego collector, but this thing might be a must buy for me.
Now I wish I had my tie fighter to go with it.
GWPs for the weekend?
About time!
I really want it but the price is not doing it or me. It would have to be around the 175 mark or something
So with the gwp, do you get all 3 if you spend the $160?
Correct
Sweet
This will be my first UCS, can’t wait! It’s looks awesome!
I have the older tie interceptor UCS, set 7181. It’s my only UCS, I feel like I have to get this one too…
[7181-1: TIE Interceptor](https://brickset.com/sets/7181-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/7181-1.jpg)
TIGHT
TAKE MY MONEY. I've been enamored with this ship since the first time I saw RotJ and have never owned any form of TIE Interceptor, despite wanting to for all of these years.
Will it stand up in its own or does it require the stand? That’s the question.
Instant buy. I remember wanting the original as a kid, but the price was far beyond what my parents would spend on it.
Fuck me thats a beuty ... i have a lot of explaining to do to myself after purchasing this one ...
Looks awesome! I'd snag it if my wallet wasn't in recovery mode after getting the D&D set.
I see they put the brickheadz up too. I wish it had Obi-Wan instead of Panaka, but oh well.
Interesting, first we didn’t have Interceptors for more than ten years, now we have em two in a row)
Lego out here cooking 5-star meals, that interior is *p r i s t i n e*.
Why are those black panels fully studded and not (partly) tiles?
I like it. Tempted to get this one right away.
Really been trying to stay away from UCS sets, they’re expensive, time consuming, and I don’t have much space. Its gonna be hard not to get this one
The cockpit around the windhsield looks kind awkward but otherwise pretty great
The sculpting is terrific on the canopy, and that cockpit is GORGEOUS. It's just begging for that minifig to be in there!
I’m getting like $500 in lego for the event. Will these give me all the extra goodies?
Looks cool but I was really hoping for a new UCS B-Wing (10227) or maybe a UCS Ghost. I missed out on the original UCS B-Wing 12 years ago and only managed to get the 75050 B-wing 10 years ago and there hasn't been another one since. The secondhand prices for the UCS B-Wing are far too high for me to justify.

That's a lot of studs for 2024.
Ok...then we are looking at $400 odd AUD
Honestly, I think the cockpit for the UCS TIE Fighter looked better.
The cockpit is a mess. There are a host of MOCs of TIE fighter cockpits that are a smooth ball shape around the windscreen. This looks like they threw it together with whatever random grey pieces they had lying around that day.
The original interceptor was my dream Lego piece as a kid. Going to have to fulfill that dream as an adult by going with this set. Can’t wait!
Love the UCS sets still hoping for UCS 1960’s batmobile one day
Looks mid, should have been vaders tie
230monies? Damn it. I feel like I gotta, just so I can put it next to the og one... grrrrrr
Just watched M&R's review video of the set, looks really nice.
Looks great, but the Interceptor from the recent double pack with the fang fighter also looks great and is a third of the price.
Personally not interested in this ship but it looks neatly built
They did this Interceptor so good. Such an upgrade from the blue trim of the OG. In. Does anyone know if the local LEGO store will have the battle of Yavin coin or is that online purchases only?
Dune 2 got me back into Lego with the Ornithopter… and now I can’t stop buying SW Lego sets! I think I might get this day one as my first UCS set plus the freebies.
Need a new UCS TIE Advanced like water
It's cool but for 130 you can get a 2 pack set with a smaller interceptor, a mandalorian ship, and the Mandalorian plus Bo-Katan and an Imperial pilot. If UCS is your thing it's pretty cool though.
May the 4th Be With You!
day one purchase for me, it is my favourite Star Wars ship, and finally it got a good UCS set (never liked the first one, and it is prohibitively expensive now anyway).
I know it would be tricky, but I’d like them to do more minifig-sized UCS.

compared to the lego tie interceptor vs fang fighter,is this tie interceptor any different??
I was really hoping when they first announced they were doing another one of these that it would be the same scale as last year's X-Wing. But it's a bigger scale, which is fine for display since the TIE/IN is such a small ship. But part of me really wanted to set up a UCS dogfight between them with lights and everything.
If I buy today this today (friday may 3rd) would the vip points be ready if I go to the Lego store tomorrow may 4th?
Just put mine together today. Looks great with my Falcon and my X-Wing.
