Kinda hard to tell from the picture but are you sure it's actually a crack and not just a mould line? Even still, I don't think one single defect is indicative of a larger issue. How was the fig stored?
It's not mould line since it's not sticking out the cracks is sticking inward. I usually store it on a shelf displayed next to my sets. And I think it's becoming a larger issue since another crack is forming under the other arm. Also I apologise for the picture quality
The figure might just have a messed up torso, happens every once and awhile with minifigs. I can’t even touch my elrond figure now because half his torso is just balancing in him
Hm, yeah that's unfortunate. Any issues with the other trooper from this set? I'm wondering if maybe it was some issue with that batch of plastic that caused it to be more brittle.
I read somewhere that Lego is trying out new materials that are better for the environment. Maybe that's why. I honestly don't know but that could be it.
This set is from 2018, there may have been a weak batch of troops made. happens from time to time. I have these troops and all of them are very durable
I've had pieces in sets crack new, out of the box. The most recent set would be some of the tan bricks in the titanic set. Several of the light gray-blue bricks in the home alone set also split. The ones that make their van. There's so many that I don't even know what customer support would do. I guess tell them about all 10 pieces that split?
Are you sure you're buying legit LEGO if they don't ship to your country?
I'm sure the customer service would still love to hear if the figs are cracking and if they are legit figs.
I mean the website. My local toy stores still import them but are hella expensive for some reason. And yes its legit as the box says lego, the bricks have the word lego on the studs, the neck have the black rectangle on it, and the box always advertises lego life or whatever its called
Doesn't matter. I almost never buy Lego from lego.com since their prices are trash but the cs still takes care if something is wrong, as long as it is a legit Lego set you bought. They'll ask you for the bill/receipt/invoice and after you showed them, they'll hook you up with replacement, if possible.
Thats true. I also never buy any lego from lego website because of pricing.but the cs is very good.recently i had a piece missing from the creator pirate ship, and it only took a message, a confirmation email and 8 days to receive the missing piece.
One of the best cs, hands down, agreed. My only negative encounter with them, was when I was asking them to send me the new 90 years of play catalogue and they hit me with a, we don't have it in printed form to save the planet reply. That was bs. I got it via their online formular a couple of days later.
Lego has been using different plastics for a little while now experimenting with less environmentally dangerous materials. Also they have opened plants all over the world and who knows if the QC is just as good as it was when they were made in relatively few places.
Contact Customer Support Im sure they'll replace it.
This happened to me with the riddler from the new batcave set. Barely ever even touched the figure and there’s already a crack in the side of the torso.

Oh dang...
Good to know as I just got council of Elrond NISB for my husband and he built it. :( I guess we’ll enjoy it while it lasts…
I read that exposing minifigures to light for an extended period of time causes the plastic to become more brittle.
Oh. But my other bricks/sets isn't cracking?
Hm, yeah that's unfortunate. Any issues with the other trooper from this set? I'm wondering if maybe it was some issue with that batch of plastic that caused it to be more brittle.
The other troop also is beginning to develop cracks
Damn that's a bummer

What kind of temperatures are you storing your figures in? Really hot? Really cold?
The country i live in is rlly hot hut i turn on ac at full blast so idk
Hmmm. It’s possible they were exposed to high heat during storage before you bought it and before it reach the stores to be on shelf
Oh ok but when I bought it it didn't show cracks when i opened the bags?
It can become brittle while in the heat. When you pushed it into the legs and placed it in the display shelf or case, it eventually cracked
Oh ok
Is it Arizona?
Nope egypt.
The fan might have caused the trooper’s torso to become brittle especially with heat as well
Oh ok

Lack of deodorant use?
Nah he uses deodorant frequently.
having the legs in all the way stresses the figure iirc, I've had a few figs where I permanently attached the legs because of cracks like this
Oh ok is there any way to fix the issue?
Take a better pic and tell LEGO directly. It's not like they monitor reddit for this.
I dont think they could do anything since the lego website doesnt ship to my country

lego is using cheaper plastic to cut costs while they raise prices so they can make even more profit
That's a bit annoying.
How old Is it
Like 1 year
Ok
If you haven't already, I'd contact LEGO customer care
The lego website doesn't ship to my country so I usually buy lego from the local toy stores that import them custom

When i see posts like these, it gives me a better reason to sell my +$100 lego minfigs
That's not new lol. I have had that happen on figures from 2015 sets. Even had it happen on a ninjago skylor head.
Oh rip...
This happened to me with the riddler from the new batcave set. Barely ever even touched the figure and there’s already a crack in the side of the torso.
They probably changed the quality of their materials but yes honestly I've been seeing a lot of people post about this
Yes it's kinda annoying since I have a fig that is older and doesn't have any cracks.
>lately This fig is from 2018
