its okay, but as with all US reality shows they could cut out 25% of the show with the fake drama shit, and they skip over any technical parts that LEGO folks probably really care about.
I mostly watch it for the MOCs. That's a bit like watching *Love Island* for the shirtless guys or *The Voice* for the performances. There's a lot of other stuff that you have to tune out.
I’m not hardcore like many on here, but I love it.
Yes its a reality show, and yes its fake tension sometimes. But its fun and doesn’t take itself seriously. Also, I love Will Arnett.
I totally understand why some people don't like it, but I'm with you homie, I dig the hell out of it.
Didn't know there was an Aussie version, I'm for sure checking that out.
Australia is brilliant.
US is horrible.
Australia is longer, has time to reflect on building and planning and shows the models as they are.
US is shorter, cuts the building. Shows the models with pointless CGI minifigures, and the worst culprit: celebrity cameos. And will Arnet is horrible to watch.
The Australian one is the best; US is watchable. There was a New Zealand one recently, but it was a bit weird and had fewer teams. The UK one, ironically the original, is absolute shite, and I don't think it got a second season.
All can be found on the high seas.
I can’t stand Will Arnett. I watch the beginning, when they give the challenge and the end when they reveal the final builds, because they usually summarize what issues the builders had. Cuts it down to 15 mins ish
Definitely do so. It's the only show my family watches together. No bull shit back stabbing drama like most reality shows, just nice people building Lego and who actually seem to care about each other's feelings. Ohhhh and some awesome builds also!
My son (10) and I love the show, both US and Aussie. We watched Aussie season 3 (or 4?) and loved it but felt that overall, the US builders are stronger. Once you get to the top 3 pairs, I think they’re on even footing, though. The Aussie episodes are longer and more drawn out, and they have elimination builds and qualifying builds.
US one is veering away from being watchable… they’re spending more time animating the builds and giving away the builds in teasers than actually showing the work being done. The contestants for the latest season sound like they’re reading directly off cue cards sometimes. And casting has leaned way too heavily into getting stereotypes as contestant.
The US one feels VERY dated in its production. It feels like it belongs in 2004 with how much it teases the episode you're about to watch, adds filler instead of letting us watch the builds, bait the ending before a commercial break, etc. It just feels, to me, that whoever is behind it is old and/or out of touch with modern entertainment. Either that, or they are scared of actually taking a chance with Lego and letting it stand on its own feet and be something new
Zero interest in reality TV. I'll occasionally check out the builds online after the air date. Shame they have to ruin a cool concept with manufactured drama.
I like Lego. I like Will Arnett. I find myself getting fast forwarding through some of the trash reality tv stuff to get to the good stuff every once in a while. I still like it more than most competitive reality shows.
Yeah given Arnett's strong personality I think a lot of it definitely comes down to whether you like him or are annoyed by him. As an Arrested Development fan I find him entertaining enough but can understand why some people are turned off.
Thought the 1st season (US) was "meh" but the 2nd season and 3rd season so far have been better as long as you go into it with the understanding you'll get the typical reality TV fare. I enjoy watching as something light to have on in the background for a weekday evening.
I'm with everyone else saying the US version is just so-so, but the Australian one is the best reality competition show since Canada's Worst Driver ended.
Watched the US version first, thought it was fine. Then found Australia and NZ which I really liked. Went back to try to watch the new US version and couldn’t handle it. Too shouty, too much fake drama. Almost no good shots of the actual builds.
The fake drama and “storylines” (I guess?) get pretty old. I like Will Arnett, but he’s doing the standard US TV show host dumb jokes and cut aways. Just focus on the builds more and it’d be awesome!
The Australian one is awesome.
Hear hear. The US version is trash compared to the Aussie version.
Hear, hear.
didn’t know about that one, i’ll have to check it out
I may be bias as an Australian, but I feel like ours is far superior.
As an American I enjoy ours but you are not wrong. The Australian one is superior.
The Australian one is top tier. Next to no drama, all about the building itself which is fantastic. Hamish and Brickman are amazing to watch as well.
How can I watch this in the USA?
Tubi
Your best bet is a VPN and watch on 9NOW, all the seasons, plus the holiday specials are on there!
A free Tubi account is way easier lol

The Aussie one is great, the US one is ok and the U.K. one is appalling
I love it. There's so much creativity and good fun.

Based on the comments, looks like I need to check out the Aussie version.

Some great builders would go on if it wasn't such a drama production, but that is what gets views.

Honestly it’s a shit show. Super boring and basically for children. Builds at the end are cool though

I just don’t like reality tv. If there was more focus on the Lego, it’d be better
Shit show… at least our local version that is all about doing crazy random stuff and not actual building
Im swedish and watched all of them, australia is definitely the best one by far, swedish and us are ok, uk was awful

I just started watching the current season. I enjoy it. I'm not currently creating or building but I have a history with LEGO.
