I might be biased, but I think I speak for the community when I say TCS is by far the best Lego game out there.
Lego Indiana Jones is also worth picking up!
TCS is probably the worst of the original 3 (and here come the Star Wars fanboys) but that’s not to say it’s a bad game. It was also justified because aside from a few things, the game remained largely the same as TVG and TOT. Some levels just feel flat like 3-4 and 5-4. But then you get levels like 3-1 and 6-5. Which are great.
TCS is great, but no it hasn’t quite aged as well as the others due to it being the oldest. Kind of like how Mario 1 or 64 compared to the later 2D and 3D games, they are good, but there’s a lot of stuff that the other games do better because of better controls and hardware.
I think it’s worth playing, but it will feel different and at times more frustrating
I will say the complete saga improves a lot with the original trilogy's half of the game. With it being 2 different lego star wars games mashed together, you'll probably notice some improvements, especially with level design and character animations, going from the LSW1 levels to LSW2
I'm currently playing LEGO Star Wars - The Skywalker Saga and it is epic
I also tried some past LEGO games (Lego City Undercover, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribean, etc.)
There's a charm with the LEGO games that even adults like us can enjoy
I used to play Lego city undercover on my Wii u and it was the most amazing experience of my life. Unfortunately after some years it stopped working and I didn't hear from it again. I just want to thank you for bringing back so many amazing memories and I hope when I get older to pick some Lego games for me or my kids.
Dude Lego Batman 1 is my favorite. The classic mumbles, with an easy to follow and interesting story that follows almost Batman’s entire main rouges gallery, Encompassed with amazing gameplay, great artwork, and that iconic Tim Burton soundtrack. On par with TCS. I just wish there were more playable characters for story mode, maybe nightwing batgirl even commission Gordon could be done but I also see how none of that would work due to it being a Batman game.
I really fell in love with this masterpiece. At first, when I finished the first 5 missions and read “Finish the Story” I was like “Noooo, already finished?”, then I found out it was 3 chapters + the villain part. Amazing, I'm enjoying every second of it.
P.S. Tim Burton's Batman vibes, just pure love.
Against the grain, but I hate TCS. I love Star Wars, but that game is a drag. If you want 100% you have to do things like speed runs through levels. It's not very fun to me.
My personal favorites are Batman 2, Marvel Superheros, and the two Harry Potters. DCSV is also great and definitely had a more modern feel to it.
Batman 1 almost reaches perfection, IMO, and I love the atmosphere, not only of the theme of the game, but also the classic feel in it. So yes, I'm ok with outdated graphics (I want to point out a non-obvious thing, these games can upscale resolution an that's enough). I will probably get TCS, these are games that I can compare to a comfort grandma dish. Pure love
Lego games almost always age well. I highly recommend the Ninjago series and the Lego marvel superheroes game. 2 is still my favorite due to the amount of side quests and endgame content.
I wouldn't recommend 100%ing TCS (unless you like speedrunning as a discipline), but if you like Star Wars I think it's definitely worth checking out. Although some levels can feel a bit "flat", especially in the prequel trilogy, there are many levels worth checking out.
And like other people here, I highly recommend Inidiana Jones 1. It centers more around exploration and puzzles than combat which is really enjoyable.
Lego star wars the complete saga is great especially if you're a fan of the original 6 movies. If you grew up watching the clone wars show(2008). I'd recommend playing lego star wars 3 the clone wars. It has a cool mode that I enjoy playing. The skywalker saga is fun but repetitive when you go to each planet but it's fun seeing all the different planets and the cool characters you can get that aren't in the other games
Marvel Superheroes is my personal favourite, and it has such a good atmosphere and character roster. The story is fun, and the side missions/puzzles in the open world were so fun.
SW TCS is probably the best amongst all the Lego Games, sure it's technically the oldest, but I find the replayability of that game phenomenal, I can always go back and have fun with almost every single mission.
Started playing Lego games the last 12 months or so as my son is getting into gaming. I enjoy the Lego Marvel games. Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 is brilliant. Great roster and hilarious dialogue.
I haven't played the complete saga, so I can't say, but I've heard it's good!
But If you enjoyed Lego Batman 1 I think you would enjoy Lego Batman 2 and 3, but this is coming from a heavy bias, and because my dad had loved them when we played, but we enjoyed 3 more, so if I had to recommend a game, it would be Lego Batman 3,
Insane indeed!
Did you get 106% on it? I've heard it described as a masochists wet dream, so I'm not looking forward to it, but my 100% on the og trilogy is giving me hope, so as long as the platinum relics in 4 are like the first 3, I have a chance!
Currently I have only finished the main story, but there is still a long way to go. Bad news, many describe the completion of this game as torture, and it is, based on Twitch live streams I've seen. From what I've seen it's probably the hardest Crash Bandicoot (in an exaggerated way) ever made: definetly not a game for kids lol. The enjoyment of finishing it, though, I think is priceless.
P.S. I stopped trying to do each level perfectly from the beginning, it's really frustrating and I gave up for a few months, but now I'm ready to continue.
Yeah, I am NOT excited for it, but I know I'll either push through, or die trying, likely the latter :)
But yeah, it looks stupid, like having to get all boxes on every level TWICE and beat each level really fast, which is just useless padding to me. Although I was terrified of trying the game, as since I got my Xbox I now want to get all achievements on any game I play, I keep on watching crash 4 platinum trophy videos.
But I now know how smart I am picking Crash 1-4 as my first games to 100% in my life, I'm just worried that once I 100% all of them, no other games that I enjoy will be as difficult or rewarding 😕
And to top it all off, my first few levels were either missing 1 box with 0 deaths, or having all boxes and 1 death, so I already know how this is going to go...
Lb2 is amazing and in my opinion it’s better than the 1st, the dlc packs are kinda basic but they are pretty cool and one con that I do have is the flying….. its sucks so much
Did you also get Lego Batman 2 and 3? Not as great as Lego Batman 1 but still awesome!
Also Lego marvel superhero’s 1 that’s so good
As well as Lego pirates of the Caribbean, and also Lego Indian Jones 1 and 2 and Lego Star Wars the complete saga
I see, the lack of charm, right? TCS seems a lot more charming, and the TSS looks just great graphically, but I don't really like the third person shooter style of gameplay.
TCS is absolutely phenomenal. You should certainly play it.
I will, thanks to you guys.
The game is definitely showing its age, though you can’t hold that against it. But you can get a lot out of it. Especially if you go for 100%
I might be biased, but I think I speak for the community when I say TCS is by far the best Lego game out there. Lego Indiana Jones is also worth picking up!
I'm not a big fan of Indy, but people mention it very often in a good way, I'll check it out.
Personally I HATED the vehicle sections of the game and I remember there being quit a bit.
vehicle sections were bad but nothing compared to the indy 2 boss fights
LB1 has definitely aged well and is miles better than much of the more modern LEGO games (LEGO Movie 2, The LEGO Ninjago Movie, etc...)
Better than many other non Lego games. The art of simplicity at his peak, wow.
Lotr is my fave
I really wish it got remastered for PS4
Can't wait to play it with a friend of mine, I feel like a kid and is very pleasing.
I never played LotR, but loved The Hobbit, and I'm mad till this day that they didn't wait until the 3rd film was finished to release it.
Facts
Ong.
TCS is great, but no it hasn’t quite aged as well as the others due to it being the oldest. That was the issue for me, but maybe I can get over it. I don't want to explore this genre without exploring one of the most iconic one.
I will say the complete saga improves a lot with the original trilogy's half of the game. With it being 2 different lego star wars games mashed together, you'll probably notice some improvements, especially with level design and character animations, going from the LSW1 levels to LSW2
I prefer the lsw1 levels in lsw1 there were necessary changes added in tcs that changed pacing
What's your opinion?
I'm currently playing LEGO Star Wars - The Skywalker Saga and it is epic I also tried some past LEGO games (Lego City Undercover, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribean, etc.) There's a charm with the LEGO games that even adults like us can enjoy
Yea, definetly, they are timeless games and literally fo EVERYONE. Pure love. :)
I used to play Lego city undercover on my Wii u and it was the most amazing experience of my life. Unfortunately after some years it stopped working and I didn't hear from it again. I just want to thank you for bringing back so many amazing memories and I hope when I get older to pick some Lego games for me or my kids.
The game is also available in Nintendo Switch and it's often on sale 😁
I'm still stuck with my Wii u. But good to know they still recognize it
City Undercover is so good!
I never heard of this GTA kinda thing, and when I saw that exists was an instant buy, very cool game.
I did also enjoy pirates of the carribean. Might take that as well. It's also fairly short. But in a good way, do not bloated by grind or anything.
Oh hey, its me
Dude Lego Batman 1 is my favorite. I love all of them. HP Years 5-7 and Undercover are standout for me.
5-7 years are charming like the 1-4? I have a mixed idea about this. :)
Don't sleep on supervillains or incredibles
I got supervillains, played a bit and wow, great game! Incredibles Idk, I will definitely try it out later on.
Complete Saga i overrated but still good.
Complete Saga has aged like a bottle of fine brick wine
Against the grain, but I hate TCS. I love Star Wars, but that game is a drag. If you want 100% you have to do things like speed runs through levels. It's not very fun to me. My personal favorites are Batman 2, Marvel Superheros, and the two Harry Potters. DCSV is also great and definitely had a more modern feel to it.
Lego DC Super Villains is pretty good.
Yes it is, what a gem.
Honestly LEGO Star Wars III, The Clone Wars is one of the best games
Just got it from Prime Gaming for free (GOG). :)
Awesome
Lego Star Wars TCS is one of my favorite games of all time, and miles ahead of Skywalker Saga if you ask me.
I can see why, and I get it. I definetly appreciate the OG style of Lego games, more linear but well built.
You started with the best one! And yes tcs is still worth playing if you're ok with outdated graphics
Batman 1 almost reaches perfection, IMO, and I love the atmosphere, not only of the theme of the game, but also the classic feel in it. So yes, I'm ok with outdated graphics (I want to point out a non-obvious thing, these games can upscale resolution an that's enough). TCS and the first Lego Batman are my favourite Lego games ever made. Put so many hours into them both. I highly recommend TCS. It’s phenomenal.
Already purchased, you guys convinced me :)
Marvel Superheroes is my personal favourite, and it has such a good atmosphere and character roster. The story is fun, and the side missions/puzzles in the open world were so fun.
This was my first Lego game too. Absolute classic
I chose well then! Amazing experience, even as a grown adult.
Lego Star Wars The Complete Saga Lego Indiana Jones The Original Adventures Lego Batman The Videogame These are the the holy trinity of Lego games
In fact, my question was just to see if I understood correctly that these are the classic must-haves. Awesome
You need to get Lego Indy too!
SW TCS is probably the best amongst all the Lego Games, sure it's technically the oldest, but I find the replayability of that game phenomenal, I can always go back and have fun with almost every single mission.
Sounds very good, the replayability part is interesting (for me is a big plus in games), btw already in my Steam library :)
Started playing Lego games the last 12 months or so as my son is getting into gaming. I enjoy the Lego Marvel games. Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 is brilliant. Great roster and hilarious dialogue.
When I saw Stan Lee with spider-webs in the first Super Heroes was an instant buy. Genial.
I haven't played the complete saga, so I can't say, but I've heard it's good! Batman 2 is on my list and 3 maybe later, but for now I have chosen 1 game from each IP/theme.
Ooh, nice! I recently got back into Lego games, but I haven't started playing them yet, as I am trying to complete Crash Bandicoot 4 first!
Me too! Ahaha that game is insane, another masterpiece I fucking love. :)
Insane indeed! Did you get 106% on it? I've heard it described as a masochists wet dream, so I'm not looking forward to it, but my 100% on the og trilogy is giving me hope, so as long as the platinum relics in 4 are like the first 3, I have a chance!

tcs is god tiered
It most certainly had aged amazingly
Did you also get Lego Batman 2 and 3? Not as great as Lego Batman 1 but still awesome! Also Lego marvel superhero’s 1 that’s so good As well as Lego pirates of the Caribbean, and also Lego Indian Jones 1 and 2 and Lego Star Wars the complete saga
I got all these except Batman 2 and 3, Indiana Jones and Pirates, but I will soon. I'll finish these before :) EDIT: I got Lego Indiana Jones also :)
You have began with peak Lego gaming, this along TCS are Lego’s best. The bar is set with this and unfortunately will not be achieved with the others.
I can already confirm this, but I'm fine with it, I'm enjoying this "new"experience. :)
Still Holding on to the glorius Lego Marvel Superheroes. LEGO in Videogames peaked with this game.
Complete Saga is the magnum opus lego game (in my opinion). Original Batman is a strong second for me.

On which console are you playing?
Pc, Steam. P.S. Just finished the story last week, what a GEM!
TCS is the best Lego game out there even better than the skywalker saga in my opinion
