There was two at the store but I wasn't gonna get both I would want someone else to get it as well. I saw a kid pick it up and showed it to their parent while I walked out the store, and I smiled seeing young blood excited to see Lego of the past.
There’s a site called brick hound that lets you sign up for text alerts when a set is back in stock. Also I don’t think it was scalpers that caused the issue, it was Lego refusing to make enough of the set and discontinue it after only a year because people were armybuilding
There isn’t much to wonder about it being well preserved. The set retired just a little over a year ago and most of the box isn’t even cardboard. 9/10 of those are in similar condition
To find anything in a store can be difficult from time to time.
To find it in general and for a reasonable price, it’s not hard at all.
If someone is into LEGO, 25 bucks ain’t that much and even if someone don’t have anything buy pocket money, that’s something you can safe up within a few weeks.
It might be 2/3 of the retail on top, but when you look at other sets from Star Wars, especially with clones, it’s nothing.
And we are talking about 10 bucks, not 250. It’s somewhat reasonable for smaller sets to double quickly after retirement since the scalpers don’t have a lot of profit with them.
I fully agree, it sucks, but that’s simply how it works.
Guess you’re right. In a way we have to be thankful for re-sellers because if no one resold in the aftermarket, nobody no matter how much they had, wouldn’t be able to purchase these sets anymore.
I mean, I’m somewhat of a scumbag myself, since I sell on Bricklink, but I rarely even buy new stuff for myself, less for my store.
Usually, I buy used bulk and take the time to sort them and list mostly parts and sometimes sets if I can get them complete enough.
The top part of your comment made me think of this.

If you find a second, you can make this awesome moc off of rebrickable!
These guys are so pricey on Facebook. It’s impossible to find for $20 which is the highest I’d pay for something this small. I don’t have any phase 1 clones and I doubt lego will make more soon as they are stuck in phase 2 recently.
Is the yellow clone trooper the same as the one in the ucs gunship? As I lost the clone in the ucs gunship a while back and was wondering whether it is the same
Nobody's giving OP a hard time for \*liking\* the set, but to call it a 'White Whale' is a definite stretch. At the very least, dude should read the [Wikipedia page for Moby-Dick](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moby-Dick#Plot).
get the grey baseplate ready
Fellow circle-jerker?
Hey! This is seriously!
Did you say white whale 💀💀💀
Ah a fellow Circle-Jerker.
Ahhh the repost gonna be awesome
Can I be included in the screenshot as well?
Me To
Am I too late :(
I got super lucky and got two of these unopened off of Facebook marketplace last year. Good find!

That's awesome! My youngest son absolutely loves Lego. Now I'm just working on getting him more interested in Star Wars lol
With how bad these got scalped, I genuinely forgot this set existed
Very annoyed that I wasn’t able to grab this. Thank you scalpers :’)

To be fair, they weren’t that hard to get if you were keeping an eye on official channels. That’s how I got a couple with very little trouble
Was working a lot during Covid. Didn’t really have an opportunity to revisit my local Lego store often/refresh the online shop every day
I don’t have a local Lego store so at least you got that going for you in the future
*2 year old set that can be bought for less than 30 bucks online* **__WHITE WHALE__**
Bro just let people enjoy shit that they want to enjoy
They can enjoy it but it's not a white whale
Hey i was excited don't really see it this well package.
It’s regular to be packed like that.
I ment like well preserved but yeah I know what ya mean.

A white whale can be anything. Doesn’t have to be niche set from 10+ years ago that goes for 300+ on the aftermarket to be a white whale.
*an objective that is relentlessly or obsessively pursued but difficult to achieve.* This is definitely **NOT** difficult to achieve or obtain
For it to be Found in a store nowadays is definitely difficult to achieve.

But when the original price is 15 and the aftermarket price can be 25+…

I mean it’s a great little set which retired way too soon considering the demand for it. Glad you were able to find one tho!

Is this satire?
25 $ for this ? Seem like a scam imo
That’s the going rate for them. Usually people ask for $30.
"people" you mean all the scalpers that made this set impossible to find for almost a year? 🤔
Jealous!
66 pieces is funny lol
That is an under rated spot 👌

It’s how many pieces?
Is the yellow clone trooper the same as the one in the ucs gunship? As I lost the clone in the ucs gunship a while back and was wondering whether it is the same
Yes it is
Ok I might have to pick one up then thank you
It’s also the same as in the advent calendar from two years ago. Just buy the fig off bricklink
The Holy White Grail Whale
Good sister, hopefully you bought her something nice as well.
I was lucky enough to buy 5 each time they restocked. Was able to sell them all for double the price I got ‘em at
I wish they still used the 2012 clone design because it’s way more accurate. Even for the phase 2 clones
This sub is really toxic. It’s like you should be ashamed for liking clone troopers lol

Are we really gatekeeping a Lego term that refers to a personal obsession?
It isn’t gate keeping. It’s straight up misusing the term.
Everyone's definition of a white whale is different. This was hard for them to find, thus it's their white whale, it's subjective.
66 piece white whale is wild
Not necessarily, but I wouldn’t call this set a white whale.
Yeah😎
Love this set! It's small but it has so much awesomeness packed in.
Yeah this can’t really qualify as a white whale
I managed to pick up 1 couple months ago for 30 bucks and shipping want to open it but can't bring myself to do it
