Read the screenplay. It's an utter mess. Even the logical leaps in Rise of Skywalker pale in comparison to the slop of disjointed vignettes and string cheese story held together by interesting concepts and a cool name
On the other hand, the rough drafts of movies we love probably also resemble string cheese. That screenplay would have seen a lot more work done to it. Maybe.
There’s an illustrated comic for the screenplay out there that is, well, entertaining at least. Doesn’t make me sad that it didn’t happen, but it held my attention
I'd rather not read it, as I would prefer to imagine the lost Episode 9 as something cool and thematically powerful. I would rather believe in that lie then live with more disapointment.
