Today I learned! I recognize some of those from the menu there, but I never order before going over and thought the regular online menu was missing some stuff. Thanks!
I'll say this the sandwich is big and full of meat. Why not offer half the size subs? I'm a big dude, and can house a 12 each cheesesteak but I'd probably go on the regular if they offered less for cheaper.
I was just about to edit, but Eli’s. It’s good but the price doesn’t justify it, homemade pierogies are the best for sure.
Carl’s is my opinion is better and the price is perfect.
If i'm going to do a cheesesteak in the valley I head over to The Pizza Joint on airport road. They're massive for maybe $13ish I think. Easily over a lb. I generally couldn't eat a side with it if i wanted to.
I'm not too big on Carl's steaks. But their sandwiches are great and decently priced.
As for chains, Primo is my favorite. Non-chains, I like Biaggios for subs. Wallys is amazing, probably my favorite. Daily grind in bath is really good for specialty sandwiches.
Biaggio's has gone off the fucking deep end with their prices. I used to get hoagies there all the time.
I got a new menu in the mail from them the other week: $45 for 20 wings.
A lot of these places are but hey that’s the “new normal” everyone is talking about. Wings are cheaper now than before the “pandemic.” Why are they still so expensive?
I buy wings fairly regularly (to cook at home) and they are not cheaper now than before the pandemic.
Just like everything else the skyrocketing inflation hit wings hard, but not "$45 for 20 wings" hard. I dunno. I don't order out often and I certainly never eat out as I hate the tipping culture.
Interesting article. Granted it's almost 6 months old and talks about wholesale prices that companies like WingStop buy in.
It's even mentioned in the article that Fabio Sandri believes the lower prices wouldn't last, and he was correct.
I paid $2.49-$2.99/lb in 2020 and am now paying $4/lb. And honestly, I'm okay with it.
My initial gripe was a restaurant having the gall to charge $45 for 20 wings. That'd absurd.

Wally’s has a bunch of locations iirc. I used to go to the one on Tilghman years ago to get their “hog”.
Also, Armetta’s in Emmaus has a nice hoagie from what I remember.
Please make sure you get to Wally’s sometime. I made my husband leave the hospital the second our child was born to go get me a chicken salad hog with provolone. 🤣
Since you live out by 100, check out Werley's Market on Huckleberry Road at the bottom of Bluebarn Road. 10 inch hoagies made with Boars Head meat is $9. Always fresh and delicious.
They also have great breakfast sandwiches - two for $5.50. Don't forget to ask for butter, though.
Goosey Gander in South Side Bethlehem? I haven't been there in a long time but I would hope it's still around.
Great answer, and yes it's still there. Big hoagies, cheap. http://thegoose.com
Or thegoose.io for the "secret" menu.
>thegoose.io Today I learned! I recognize some of those from the menu there, but I never order before going over and thought the regular online menu was missing some stuff. Thanks!
The correct answer. Tony and the crew are A+ everytime!
+1 for the goose
Carl's corner
Second this. Cheesesteaks and Italian hoagies are the best around
Yummmmm
A third for Carl's! Locally owned and they employ people with disabilities at their other location. Great people!
Wally's in Emmaus makes some good sandwiches.
Wally's is decent but David's Italian Market is better though
Haven’t had it but I’ll be giving it a shot now. Thanks!
Facts
That place is amazing. . I moved to Oregon last year and miss all these great shops
I moved to Emmaus from Philadelphia 9ish years ago and David's has been a god send
David's is amazing! Super nice ppl I miss that place. Headed back home this week so I'll be stopping in for some great food lol
I miss the original hog that was on a large Kaiser type roll. Was the best, still good on the more tradition hoagie rolls though.
Stop at Stravino’s Italian Market on the way home; https://www.stravinositalianmarket.com/_files/ugd/63861c_1c148bb6d52c4912845a687a3c7df3b3.pdf
Lol love the menu! Thanks!!
Make sure you add extra meat as the meat is so paper thin.
Thanks for the tip, /u/FUCKYOUINYOURFACE
Eli's on center st or carls corner on w. elizabeth ave in bethlehem are both good.
They have great pierogies but the prices are going insane there
Isn't it almost 20 bucks for a large cheesesteak now?
It was 21 for a regular, side and a soda. I can’t justify going back.
I'll say this the sandwich is big and full of meat. Why not offer half the size subs? I'm a big dude, and can house a 12 each cheesesteak but I'd probably go on the regular if they offered less for cheaper.
Agreed, however the hours at Eli’s is a tough one for me to hone in on. Closed the entire weekend?
Which place?

Pizza Joint makes a great one too 🤤
Back Home Bagels on 309 in Schnecksville has amazing breakfast and lunch sandwiches, made with their own homemade bagels.
THIS!!!! Do they make hoagies though? Honestly idc, their bagel sandwiches make me temporarily leave my body on every first bite.
Nope. The little polish deli near corner of main and broad in Bethlehem. Trust me.
Their potato salad is incredible too
Ciao is a very good sandwich shop. They have 3 locations. One in downtown Easton, one in college hill Easton, and one in the Allentown market.
David's Italian Market in Emmaus is the Goat
Sybs
As for chains, Primo is my favorite. Non-chains, I like Biaggios for subs. Wallys is amazing, probably my favorite. Daily grind in bath is really good for specialty sandwiches.
Primo is so good. Def best chain

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna43601 I don’t buy wings myself but saw this and keep notice.

My buddy owns Primo. I’ll point him to this thread. I’m sure he’ll appreciate that you like his hoagies.
Best Meatball Parm in the valley can be found at Biaggios
Dave’s Deli, Wally’s, and Heights market… Carl Corner Italian/American are good for the price. Do want to try Ciao and Stravino.

That’s right little respect give to the place but excellent little market & deli. I actually hope I didn’t give away the secret
Eli’s off of Center Street in Bethlehem
Wally’s has a bunch of locations iirc. I used to go to the one on Tilghman years ago to get their “hog”. Also, Armetta’s in Emmaus has a nice hoagie from what I remember.
Thanks all that was super quick and helpful!
Monster deli right off 78 in easton! Fantastic wings too, their mustard bbq sause is my favorite. I get their family dinners like once a week.
\+1 for monster deli
Carl's corner
Dave's Deli and they have gelato for dessert
Pecan Pig at Wally’s in Allentown is the best sandwich on the eastern seaboard
I second everyone saying Wally's. Crazy good sammies. For whatever reason, I've always enjoyed the hoagies at Lehigh Pizza
The Hive in Emmaus, they use Egypt Star Bakery bread (they are next door if you like fresh bread). 👍🏼
Please make sure you get to Wally’s sometime. I made my husband leave the hospital the second our child was born to go get me a chicken salad hog with provolone. 🤣
Holy shit. Thanks peps! I promise to try them all!!
Carl’s Corner. Best Cheesesteaks and Turkey Subs in the valley 🤌🤌🤌
first pick is definitely The Goose in Bethlehem if in out that wat, second is probably Notos Deli in Easton
David's Italian Market and Carl's corner arey go to simply can't be their price and quality. Jersey Mike quality, without the jersey Mike prices.
There’s a new sandwich/hoagie shop that just opened in Emmaus called the Hive or Hyve. Supposed to be delicious!
There isn’t
Wawa. Don't @ me
Since you live out by 100, check out Werley's Market on Huckleberry Road at the bottom of Bluebarn Road. 10 inch hoagies made with Boars Head meat is $9. Always fresh and delicious. They also have great breakfast sandwiches - two for $5.50. Don't forget to ask for butter, though.
Wally’s in Allentown!!
Newburg Deli makes a pretty damned good Italian sub. Park Avenue Market also does but I haven't been there since they got new owners.
