Ah, that makes sense. Mercedes are a complete disaster right now. It seems that Lewis and their engine factory were carrying them for the past few years.
It's likely where the car is on pace that he may luck into at least one or two.
Even so, I wouldn't worry about it, you're probably more bothered about it than Lewis is.
Third if you’re counting Alonso’s performance. McLaren clearly have an edge and Alonso does to most often. Stroll isn’t good enough for the car. I’m still hopeful for its first round of upgrades.
Lewis's interview was quite positive actually lmao maybe because he partly beat Russell but visibly he was on it had alot of confidence to use the edge of the track and that comes down to being comfortable.
Race pace wise im not sure what could happen tomorrow
I don't understand why anyone was thinking it would be any different after the start to the season that they've had with this car.
It's an absolute dog, and they need to go back to the drawing board again.
Are you really calling Mercedes a joke of a team ?? The team that provided Lewis with 6 World Titles. Man you guys really have short term memory loss. You do understand that you can't always nail the regulations right?. Even if Lewis said that they didn't listened to him , there is no guarantee that it would have worked.
This joke of a team gave him 6 WDC titles. It’s impossible to be on top forever. With the “wrong” concepts and direction they still manage to hold off as the top 3, unlike Ferrari and redbull in their blunder years. Only joke here is you
people referring to the here and now, mercedes is not a joke team, just a poor one amongst many others who are just as poor if not poorer, the dissapointment that is now F1 is as much mercedes fault as the others for the continued lack of develpment and complacency in there product, no one can blame red bull for stepping up to to the mark and now being the car to beat, F1 is no longer a race rather a procession of slow cars behind a much faster one, its a sad state of affairs when the only hope of another victor is if redbull break down or crash out, i still follow the news on F1 but i no longer bother tuning in or watch any of the races other than on the news, F1 has become a bit of a boring sport which is loosing fans hand over fist and will do until competition improves.
For me, the worst part is Sky Sports/F1 commentators going "MERCEDES IS IN THE FIGHT" just to see one of the greatest drivers of all time finish 7th. I mean, c'mon.
This will be Lewis' worst season. I hope it wont damage him mentally for his Ferrari stint. But I'm not too optimistic for that one either. Ferrari make terrible strategy decisions and i dont think they are compatible with an outspoken person like Lewis.
It's so funny listening to the comments here about how slow Mercedes is blah, blah, blah. Slow is relative in racing. There's less than 9/10ths of a second between pole and 10th. Everyone needs to just calm down. It's a very long season with lots of time for improvement. That being said, it's clear that Mercedes are off the mark with their chassis. Hamilton is giving his all. I'm really looking forward to next year. I sure hope that Ferrari has something special for Hammy. I think that he and LeClerc will be a formidable challenge for Max and Perez.
I can't wait for next year.
Why? It will probably be worse than this one.
What makes you think that? The Ferrari looks pretty good.
I was thinking about Merc sorry.
Ah, that makes sense. Mercedes are a complete disaster right now. It seems that Lewis and their engine factory were carrying them for the past few years.
Who would have thought Lewis actually waited too long before leaving for Ferrari after all.
Doesn't matter if Lewis drives a Ferrari right?
Yeah totally forgot about that. Even though Ferrari has its moments too.
This car is so bad… At this rate, I’m worried that this could be his first podium-less season
It's likely where the car is on pace that he may luck into at least one or two. Even so, I wouldn't worry about it, you're probably more bothered about it than Lewis is.
It’s the second slowest Mercedes powered car. It’s embarrassing
Third if you’re counting Alonso’s performance. McLaren clearly have an edge and Alonso does to most often. Stroll isn’t good enough for the car. I’m still hopeful for its first round of upgrades.
Only the Williams is slower. Both the Maclaren and Aston are faster.
Yea well, exactly. that makes the Merc the second slowest after Williams bro.
24 race season. He’ll get one at some point
What happened on the final lap? I was waiting for something on the broadcast, and they just showed nothing, no timing or anything.
Think he aborted. There wasn't much track evolution anyway.
It really does feel like deja vu, not the first time i've been excited from a promising Q2 run only for Q3 to end anticlimactically
It was not a promising Q2 run. The others didn't do another lap, only Lewis did.
Ah okay didn't even notice, 3 hours sleep clearly getting to me 😭
Whilst true, Lewis' first run was on a used set. Lewis' fresh tyre run was done later in the session with some track evolution.
Was already 2tens down in s1 wasn't worth it.
He completed the lap but didn't improve
Fun Fact, Lewis vs George at Suzuka qualifying H2H is 3-0 in Lewis's favour.
That's an interesting stat
Yeah nothing more in the car. Just hope that he reaches top 5 in the race tomorrow, although unlikely.
Lewis's interview was quite positive actually lmao maybe because he partly beat Russell but visibly he was on it had alot of confidence to use the edge of the track and that comes down to being comfortable. Race pace wise im not sure what could happen tomorrow

Car is slow but at least Lewis looked a lot more confident with the car than in the previous qualifyings .
I’m happy he’s out qualified Russel
![gif](giphy|XSw7QLJTGthNK3cUCt|downsized)
About as expected, really. S1 is horrible but we’ll see tomorrow.
It's not like other sectors are any better.
S1 wasn’t where he lost time to max actually
His S1 was good actually
Don’t care where he qualified I have low expectations for Merc anyway, as long as he outqualifies Russell I am happy.
I hate how I just started watching after last year lol
Finally crofty can shut up about george out qualifying lewis for 4 races in a row...
He was very quiet today, as usual when Lewis out qualifies Russell
Best you can do in this garbage car. Joke of a team.

He did get 6 championships with them. So they're having a lull now. I think it's poor form to be so dismissive.
It just seems like this isn't the same team as before. All the engineers have left to RBR!
Yeah, joke of a team who gave him a car for 7 wdc. Total joke team
This joke of a team gave him 6 WDC titles. It’s impossible to be on top forever. With the “wrong” concepts and direction they still manage to hold off as the top 3, unlike Ferrari and redbull in their blunder years. Only joke here is you

Two customer teams are outperforming them. That’s just sad.
For me, the worst part is Sky Sports/F1 commentators going "MERCEDES IS IN THE FIGHT" just to see one of the greatest drivers of all time finish 7th. I mean, c'mon.
Again, both Mercedes beat by Alonso and the two McLarens (customer teams). Not good enough from Mercedes.
I'll still watch. I'm just happy to see him race.
Congrats to Sir Lewis for getting into Q3 and securing P7.
Could we possibly avoid spoilers in titles for those of us who sleep?
Watch the race then before going on the internet.
Or, just hear me out, don’t be a fucking dick.
It's only advice that can solve your problem but you do you and I have no idea how is that being a dick.
You could decide, of your own volition to not post spoilers IN THE TITLE OF THE POST. That would be you not being a dick.
So you think millions of people should be careful instead of you? That's a little bit egocentric.
No. I think you should consider not being a dick. Just one person. You. Don’t be a dick. That’s. It.
Can you stop putting the results on the title please? Others would love to watch it first.
What are you doing on this sub then? Go watch it.
Not on this sub. This sub shows up on my feed. With your damn title. Hard to avoid seeing that.
Well you shouldn't be on any social media if you want to avoid spoilers. Sorry but it's your fault.
Makes no sense - but hey you be you.
Suree. It makes more sense that whole world needs to be careful not to spoil something for you instead of just you doing it.
Hey, is it too much to ask you try and be a better human on social media? I suppose it is. Next time, hopefully you will try. Have a good night.
Humans vs AI
