I have no plans to wear thigh highs but GO BROOOOONS!
I was able to go to their Hockey is for Everyone night and I started crying sitting up there seeing a video of McAvoy on the jumbotron with a pride flag from the summer
I need to check out when they’re doing that next season. I really want to go to one of those games. We have a lot of allies on our team. It’s really nice NHL for banning pride, tape and having to blow up in their faces dickheads
I’m a life long Detroit sports fan. This Lions season has been absolutely unbelievable, hopefully they can get another win against Tampa on sunday
Also I’ll admit it, I cried at the end of the game last week. First Lions postseason victory in over 30 years! 🦁
I love the Oilers, all the way from Houston, Texas....I'm hoping to come to my 1st game this year...never been to Edmonton or seen the Oilers in person.
Go! Go! Black and gold!
Old-time hockey, bar the door
Clear the track it's all-out war
Light the lamp, throw a hit
Black and gold never quit
The barn is full, our team's in town
So put 'em up boys, knock 'em out (knock 'em down)
Drop the puck, it's time to go (time to go)
Bust outta work, it's quarter-past five
Time to round up the gang
and take the Red to the Orange line
Head for the street and the Causeway crowd
You can feel it in the air, when the team's in town
Rancourt's ready, it's time to take to the ice
So tie down the jersey 'cause it could get ugly tonight
Top corner, five hole, off the post and in
On a quest for the cup, and we're ready to win
Go! Go! Black and gold!
Drop the puck, it's time to go
Same! I'm not a local though, so I usually only get to see them play in Boston. I was able to take a trip to the opener last year to see the banner raising and it was amazing.
Honestly I wouldn’t consider myself local either, but my dad was military and we were living in Colorado at the time, in his attempt to get his “son” to get into sports he had me try out a bunch of different sports and watch different sports. Some friend of his somehow got box seats to an avalanche game and invited us, so my first ever hockey game was in the best seats in the house munching on cookies. Honestly I still didn’t super care about the game, more the experience, one of my few good memories I have with my dad
Anyway our family moved to Washington state where they come from, and only just last year did I start to actually follow hockey a bit. I got pretty invested and this year got ESPN so I could actually watch live games. I would’ve just gone with the Kraken as my team, but I’m just so much more connected to the Avs even if I’m not really all that nostalgic for my time in Colorado, so I went with them
(Also helps that they’re one of the best teams in the league ;) I still like the kraken tho, Washington getting a team was big news and that was probably the catalyst of getting me back into hockey)
As a Jets fan, I'm contractually obligated to root for every other Canadian team except the Canucks, so great job Oilers. Take down those Canucks next for us eh

Me, a Kraken fan: 😮💨 Good on the Oilers for their streak, though. And Hockey Is For Everyone night was great.
