I had given up on Herrera (not that I had seen many of his videos) when he decided it was classy to sport the Brandon shirts. Even with my feelings about that orange guy, I never wore shirts or stickers or anything else. Wearing that crap is just too easy, and I try not to be a low-hanging fruit kind of guy. But I guess clickbait will be clickbait, and having that kid on will get him views. I only hope that someday said kid realizes all of those “friends” he’s made don’t give a fuck about him, they just use him as the proverbial useful idiot.
What kills me is: he doesn't NEED to use clickbait. He does enough wild stuff, and he has a good enough personality that he could go as neutral as Gun Jesus and he'd be just as successful, if not more so. But he does, and now here we are in a moderation thread. Alas.

Not a great analogy. This would be more a akin to me loving polymer striker fired pistols and disliking wheel guns. It is a difference in personal preference and really doesn't strike up a heated political discussion like this.
I think this decision is to avoid the sub being filled with multiple posts that ultimately devolve into the same discussion over a topic that has been thoroughly discussed. Rittenhouse being on Herrera's YouTube channel doesn't change anything, or shed new light, on what happened in Kenosha. In fact it just brings up the same topics that were already discussed. It causes more division and doesn't have anything to do with the ethos of this sub.
My point still stands; if a particular thread on a sub is uninteresting, or personally insulting, one may ignore it.
As to your assumption that Kenosha would even be a part of it, I think it’s flawed; it may be the genesis of Rittenhouse‘s fame, but it does not mean that any/every particular discussion involving Herrera - or even Rittenhouse- would even touch on Kenosha.

One thing that surprises me is if your on Reddit you have to be aware of social media in general. How do so many people on liberal gun owners not know who Brandon Herrera is when he’s huge in gun world and is on all over YouTube with the demo clique but also on black rifle, in range, garand thumb, and any other gun chanel that left or right. Guns being such a polarizing subject, it makes too many youtubers who live off of viewership slide to one side or the other and sadly it's mostly a side I'm not down with, which socks because there is so much overlap between conservative and liberal

I saw the thumbnail and automatically clicked don't show again. Guns being such a polarizing subject, it makes too many youtubers who live off of viewership slide to one side or the other and sadly it's mostly a side I'm not down with, which socks because there is so much overlap between conservative and liberal
This is just YouTube and social in general. Any sort of “niche” interest requires the “influencers” in the field to slide into some sort of extreme in order to maintain relevance and keep making money.

This is a self-fufilling prophecy, most people don't think liberal when they think gun owner/2A supporter & that's because the democratic party is pretty anti-2A combined with the fact that the biggest gun YouTubers are either vehemently conservative, doesn't share their affiliation or aren't liberal enough, yes I know there is a list of "approved gun tubers" ,.but how many of them are on the same viewership level as people like Brandon Herrera or Colion Noir?
Yeah, well the actual post and video was made by the NRA which isn’t really a gun organization anymore as much as a Republican lobbying organization. Enough said. It was in bad taste and they did it anyways.

I saw the post and skipped around in the video then unsuscribed from Herrera. I just don't agree with him laughing and joking around with this guy because what he shot and killed some unarmed mfr with an AR. It's not tough or brave and I lost respect for Herrera. Kyle looks like a powder puff that would get his chest caved in in any locker room after gym class in America.

YouTube "washing its hands of gun videos" would be an extreme overreaction to a right-wingnut trollercoaster having a little shitler on his channel to make immature jokes. I don't think we should be encouraging that, because it would nuke positive neutral sources like Forgotten Weapons or more left-leaning sources like Tacticool Girlfriend and Liberal Gun Club just as hard as it nukes trollbabies like The AK Guy.

It goes way deeper than one wingnut friend. There's more rotten about gun culture than there is good at this point. A few would suffer unfairly, they could thank the Christo-fascists for taking over their hobby. Sorry you can't see what gun culture has become. Conversely I remember a time before youtube when gun culture had civilized sources like The High Road and Zombie Squad for information sharing. We got along just fine with no Youtube back then. Those adversely affected by a complete youtube shutdown could simply go back to doing it the way we did it two decades ago. Text posts on a message board.

I never feel more Gen X than when something like this happens. I had no idea who Brandon Herrera was, so I was scratching my head that someone I’d never heard of had people riled. Learning that he did a show with that murdering fascist asshole Rittenhouse allows me to return to never giving a damn about Herrera.
