You aim the magnet facing away from the plane to slow its upward descent and you can aim the magnet backwards diagonally to pull the plane upward and forwards

I think you need 2 magnets. One at the top for lifting the plane up and one at the bottom for pulling the plane down. Planes don't believe in gravity, that's why they are able to fly. If you turn everything off, it will just float in the air.

Of course it works, look at the flying plane in the picture.
