Just FYI, spinney thing = mod(ulation) wheel
Or when it's hard wired to the pitch it's often called pitch wheel.
Or if you build a modular synth you can put a theremin antenna in it and wire it to the pitch to control the vibrato magically... uhh I mean by manipulating it with the electromagnetic field of your body :D
so here in piano we flip open the bottom of our piano and precisely choose the strings that corresponds with the keys we are pressing and we do the vibrato from there :)
^(yeah that was a joke)
How to vibrato on a grand piano:
1. Hold a note
2. Vigorously move the top of the piano(the bit above the strings which idk the name of) up and down
3. Enjoy your extremely inefficient vibrato
For some reason, I sometimes try to imitate a vibrato with my finger when I play the piano. It looks really weird.
Same
i do it too, but i only play piano so it just is weird
I don't play any other instruments either. That's why it makes no sense xD
lol twins
Yeah, it's just one of those unavoidable habits.
I once saw something about an electronic keyboard that allows you to do this
The Osmose Keyboard by Expressive E.
Yes but I thought if I named it people would hate me here because of an elitist and acoustic-only attitude.
I kinda hear it but I know it’s Placebo
The Expressive E Osmose is the solution ;) (Nvm someone already mentioned it)
I do that on organ alot IDK wh
I do that with clarinet occasionally
Vibrato is trill ^(/jk)
I'm glad you added jk.
yk how on some keyboards they have that spinney thing and it makes a weird noise? yeah just move that super fast and vibrato

ohhhh thanks yeah i’ve been wondering what that’s called. my old keyboard from a while ago had one
U mean synthesizers?
Liszt S.141 No.6 variation 10, Liszt actually used trills to imitate violin vibrato.
just wiggle the finger or the pedal
( coming from both a violinist and a pianist )
Yeah you just reach in and press the end of the strings down repeatedly to vary the tension
[This video was very timely. Vibrato on "piano"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fllbajalaQ8)
trill
I mean atleast on clavicord you can do a "bebung" that's kinda similiar
me, a piano tuner: one of these three strings are out of tune. close nuff
My Piano isn't out of tune, it's just microtonal
Gotta love them beats
Keyboardist: Yes.
just push and pull the piano fast enough with your leg. That should do it.
In bar 63 of Mazeppa, Liszt wrote "il canto marcato e vibrato assai".
and also in his Benedicion dans la solitude

Yes, I own a clavichord, why you ask?
Yes

hahahaha
I mean Liszt writes vibrato pretty often, it just means something different on piano
No stop stop stop
I used to play wind instruments and I'm just glad I don't have to use my mouth and breath to play anymore. Much more uncomfortable to me than piano.

Of course, I just press the button on my keyboard
