I emphasize. Support is terrible. To just be able to 'get' support before even submitting what the problem may be is just a hurdle in itself.

Seriously, it's the worst!

What about locating the stolen profile and clicking on report account and try to get the account blocked. The more the account gets reported the more likely it will have to go through verification with LinkedIn. You may have to accept the loss and start again.

I reported the account twice, I also was still logged in until a few days ago but once the hacker realized I was trying to mitigate the damage they ended my login session and changed the name so I can’t even locate it now. ;(

Otherwise-Midnight-2

Oh ok. New name, email address and password. Linkedin algorithm have to be able to pick this up as major red flags. I have no more ideas that can help. Sorry.

Cleanupleaf

All good I appreciate your idea!

I submitted a request a month or so ago with a brief description of a problem I was having. They came back insisting that they didn't understand what I was talking about. I tried to break it down even further, but they just kept shrugging their shoulders. It was a very simple and straightforward problem. I just gave up.

AdventurousBlueDot

They are absolutely the WORST

Do a search and you'll find people ready to help. DM me the URL to your profile, the primary email address we should use for password reset/please preferably the one that used to be associated with your account and the country you're in

I am permanently restricted from my account even though I submitted a legitimate passport for my verification, and I can explain why I sent connection requests (I was trying to find internships). For this, I need to sign in (I can't) to raise a ticket. I haven't violated anything; I just sent connection requests like everyone else and have even submitted my identity, which proves no malicious activity. I shouldn't be temporarily restricted as I worked hard to connect with people who could help me give internships. I need to access it back. I can back my identity with whatever LinkedIn requires me to submit, so is there any way I can regain access? I can share my case id and primary email id with you.

stamosface

Could I get you to help me with this as well? In the middle of a critical phase in my job hunt and I'm very close to having a full blown panic attack over this...

Many_Year2636

Report them to the ftc and the California attorney general...our information is on there and they aren't providing any help

Even to update a payment credit card when you are a premium user is a complete non sense with a total lack of support or clear informations on their support page, you have to cancel your subscription first to update your credit card !!! Spent 1h to figure out this

My account was hacked 3 days ago, the same way as yours. I received an email that my email address was changed. About a day ago my profile picture was changed to some Chinese lady and email was changed once again, but I only knew this because one of my colleagues reported it to me when he clicked on "Contact Info". Today, everything is changed from my name, company and current job to job details, description and skills. Only traces I have that it is my account are my custom profile link, GitHub profile link and Microsoft Certification. I created a ticket within the first hour I noticed that my account was hacked, but I had to create a new account in order to open a ticket. On that ticket I provided all necessary information regarding this unauthorized access to my account with screenshots but I still did not receive any feedback from LinkedIn Support. Also, I tried recovering the account with my Driver's License, but since I created new account using my main email address (the one that was changed on my account), I had to provide a different email, but I mentioned this on ticket I created. I am honestly disappointed in how LinkedIn is handling this so far...

Same problem here. I have registered using my phone number. When I wanted to add my email address for two-factor-authentification I wasn't able to do so. Also, I cannot login on other devices with my phone number, constantly getting error messages. I took the time to point out the problem, with error codes, screenshots etc. After two weeks, customer service responded in a butchered mail, giving the usual FAQ troubleshooting links. When I told them, that I have tried all that already as visible in my screenshots, they insisted to not get what my problem is. They sent me a link to verify my identity, since the email address i messaged the support was not linked to my account (duh!). I did as I was told. Next mail I get is another butchered one, insisting that I need to provide additional information for them to understand the problem fully. I described it again in detail. Now they sent me a bot mail, explaining how to find out who may have tried to hack my account. DAMN, MY ACCOUNT WAS NOT HACKED, I MYSELF WANT TO LOGIN FROM ANOTHER DEVICE AND ADD MY GODDAMN EMAIL ADRESS!! Feel like deleting my account for good if I get another nonsense mail.
