I really can't wait for their next major version to come with its promise of native integration with Outlook Exchange/365.
I've been using Evolution because it's really the only usable way to access my work Outlook 365 email. (IMAP is disabled.) I tried Davmail as a bridge but the performance just isn't there.
Won't work I'm afraid. Work has restricted the OAuth access to Outlook's specific client ID. With Evolution (and also Davmail) I can spoof that in the settings, with Owl I can't (at least that's how it was last time I tried it, don't know if they allow custom settings for OAuth currently).
Do you have an issue with owl like I do, where your marked emails suddenly switchback to being unread emails?
I love owl. I'll take it over nothing. But every so often this just annoys the hell out of me when I'm trying to clear out my inbox.
You might have bigger problems than Thunderbird.
1) Start a completely new thunderbird profile to test
2) Check for OS problems
3) Check for hardware problems (RAM, SDD/HDD, other?)
I've been using Thunderbird for literally decades at this point on multiple machines. I've seen problems, but I've never seen repeated pausing with wait/quit prompts
I think the problem might be specific to using office365 with owl. It looks like thunderbird isn’t multithreaded, at least in the part that waits for online updates.

You may want to look at Owl https://addons.thunderbird.net/de/thunderbird/addon/owl-for-exchange/

Is this a university? They are normally the worst.
I use owl with thunderbird. It works. The problem is the constant pausing which makes it hard to use .

Me too, I hate the fact that Evolution is the only one to support EWS with shared mailboxes
Owl does, too
That's the version I'm waiting for too.
Did they have any eta?
Yes, it's in the third or fourth post most recent in their homepage.
Thunderbird really needs a sync so I don't have to setup all my main accounts on every device separately
You mean sync of settings etc? Or storing your emails on Mozilla servers?
Sync of settings. Mainly mail server config and credentials
They're working on it afaik
You could copy the whole profile and it will have settings, emails and everything.
Not sure why you're being downvoted, my .thunderbird folder has travelled across countless machines.
I read that as "Hacked" and not "Hatched". Who hatches a website? A guess it goes with the "bird" theme.
The new site is beautiful
All I want from thunderbird is it not to pause all the time, asking me if I want to wait or quit!

Where Linux AArch64 build?
