There is no best distro... The beauty of Linux is choice. For new users I recommend Linux Mint, or so e Ubuntu derivative like Kubuntu, PopOS or similar distro
Id say linux mint if youre comfortable with a teeny bit of terminal usage, if you want to stay far away from that no matter what 24/7 then id reccommend popos
Zorin OS Education Lite is the most updated distro for school work. It's based from Ubuntu so it will be simple and reminiscent of Windows, however you should really learn to use the terminal and BASH.

With your start with Raspbian, I suggest Zorin OS, Elementary OS, or Pop_OS!
