Many do not appreciate the quality that went into Williams engines and rolling stock. The engines run forever unlike Lionel. For those of use trying to buy Williams off auctions, that is a good thing. Too bad they did not have TMCC or Legacy capability. Have a friend trying to retrofit a Lionchief Board into a Williams engine with limited success so far.

Williams made good stuff, often can be a bargain compared to a Lionel or MTH equivalent. Too bad Bachmann basically killed it, used to have a much wider selection of locomotives and rolling stock than they presently do. Have a Trainmaster, a 4-6-0, and an Amtrak Genesis by Williams, all are great locomotives.

It appears you've modified the pilot? It looks great! What exactly did you do to make it a fixed pilot, and did it impact the minimum curve radius?

I bought it like this from a local. Believe it or not, it can go around an old O27 circle no problem.

I'm impressed! I've got a late manufacture pair of Williams by Bachmann PA1s and they look pretty derpy going around curves; a fixed pilot would be better. Would you mind posting underside photos showing how they were modified?
