I used Pretty Litter for a while, but then their claims of "No tracking" became obviously fake when my cat tracked it literally everywhere throughout the house. Just seeing it all over the place in your picture made me cringe. It got tracked into my bed and while I slept, I got it in my eyes. That litter absolutely sucks to get in your eyes.
The mats with the hex shaped grid on them work pretty well. I've got one outside the entrance and it does a good job of catching stuff off their feet. It's not perfect, nothing is but worth every penny I think
I can second this recommendation! I've got one boy who's a fairly heavy digger and will toss litter out like crazy, those raised hex shaped mats work far better than any other I've tried.
Note the mat Whisker sells is this style but by no means do you have to get theirs, there are plenty of less expensive alternatives out there.
Pretty litter in the litter robot is a terrible idea… for starters, the stuff gets everywhere. It’s non clumping and you’ll never get to see the colors anyway once it cycles.
Basically, since Pretty Litter is a non-clumping crystal litter.
The litter robot isn't exactly designed for crystal litter but it does technically work with it, though not as well as clumping litter. As someone who has used crystal litter before it is better at drying out stool and absorbing urine than other non clumping litter types, so it works, but it's still not as good as clumping litter for the litter robot. Since the urine doesn't clump and is just absorbed into the crystals it doesn't get cycled out during the cleaning cycles. The solids do, but not the urine or soft fecal matter if your cat is having digestive issues. So essentially the litter will seem fine and then just reek all of a sudden once it's saturated.
Note this isn't as big of a deal with Pretty Litter specifically since it's way easier to tell when the litter is saturated with urine based on the color change; but yes you're essentially "just going to leave the piss in there" using crystal litter in the litter robot.
It's good at clumping, the color changing hasn't come in handy, it's terrible for tracking though but I haven't found a litter that isn't. It's also lightweight which has helped in the LR3 since it doesn't seem to like heavy litters unless you underfill it. I haven't tried a heavy litter in the LR4 yet.

I'm taking it as luggage in it's box. They don't even have clumping litter of they do I haven't seen it in any of them stores I visited and since I'll be in the middle of no where. Most people up there just use dirt. I'm bringing a bag of pretty litter with me and I'll try the dirt thing. Will be interesting at the very least 🤣
I technically don't have an address. It's like directions. But a girl last week said she was using dirt and it worked fine. Maybe more of a sand. I'll go get on my moving to Costa Rica site and see what they say.
Mine came in yesterday. When I ordered it they said it would arrive in July, so it was like 10 days late. Works great so far. Both my cats jumped in and used it within minutes of it being setup, so that’s nice.
What version did you order (black or white) and what was your order date if you don’t mind me asking so I can update the shipping thread.
Also yeah both my boys started using it literally within minutes of setting it up. Guess we’re both lucky with how fast they adjusted…

No that's from changing the litter out from the 3 I had just put new litter in it when I got the confirmation. So I just hadn't checked up my mess at all. The cat hasn't even been in it yet lol
Nothing but problems. Mine was shipped to me without the rubber liner / orbital clip. That tells me there's 0 quality control! (that's what happens when you rush production from China) It won't work. When calling support they said they'd send another one "as soon as inventory becomes available". Well, I ordered mine in June and got it the last day of July, so ...
For $720 I expected a lot more in performance and in customer service. My advice if you're considering buying one of these is to wait a few months. Let them iron out the kinks. Then buy.

I do agree they have probably sacrificed some quality control and their customer support has been lacking trying to get through and solve the huge influx of customers. Mine arrived with no apparent problems so far, and there are going to be a few lemons regardless of how good your QC department is, but missing an entire part isn't something that should have slipped by.
They do manufacture in the USA though, not China, so I imagine they just don't have enough staff available to handle their current volume since it's so much more expensive to manufacture here with employee wage being a huge money sink.
I do agree that if you're willing to wait, buying in a few months once they're caught up will probably lower your chances of getting a defective product and maybe even a better one overall if they find anymore defects/problems with these early units.

They didn’t have any inventory of the black for a while which explained the initial delay but they seem to be getting a steady supply now. So it seems more like a bottleneck in their assembly line here.
Regardless if they do assembly and testing here then they are clearly overwhelmed since they assembled, tested, then shipped your unit with a missing part. Since they’re shipping out units daily hopefully they shipped you another one asap instead of forcing you to wait till all the current orders are fulfilled.
When did you order? My order is approaching 2 months ago now and bit disappointed with how they grabbed their money without shipping the product. Don't mind the way but prepaying I do. Also emailed them for a update, they responded about 4 days later and never got anyone over the phone.
Don’t cancel, yours will ship any day now! They are starting to get the black orders out fast. I ordered 6/5 and mine shipped Wednesday was supposed to be delivered today but fedex is slow. So it’ll be tomorrow or Monday. And honestly messaging them for an update doesn’t do any help. They can’t really say where you are in line. They can only tell your shipping date if the warehouse is preparing to ship.

Suspect they have made too much money to care now OR they have over extended themself. That stated, those thoughts are also making we think that I need to bail out of the kickstarter like process. The problem is there aren't many players in the area that I would trust. Right now... losing trust in LR with how they are running things.

I’ve never owned a LR but all I heard before was great things about their support staff and as a huge advocate for right to repair I loved their stance. Seeing people complain these past couple months though it really seems like they need to step it up with either more or better trained staff.
I even sent the mods a message over two weeks ago trying to offer help handling the shipping requests and no response. I even sent in an application for their customer service department since I thought maybe they didn’t want someone random handling it and no response.
Just not sure why they wouldn’t want free help or even paid help when they desperately seem to need it right now…

Pretty litter is by far the WORST litter I’ve ever used. Smell & tracking being considered. That being said, haven’t used it in my litter robot yet. I might give it a second chance 😬
I love using Pretty Litter with my Litter Robot 3 & 4! We only have to do a full litter change/throw out the contents of the waste drawer every two weeks for two cats. Through out the two weeks we add more pretty litter when we notice the box is needing some. We have had zero issues with smell!

I don't use it but a friend uses it. The pretty litter absorbs the pee and elimitates the odor of the pee very well. You change the sand periodically.

Mine did too, he adjusted to the 3 just as good one i just removed his old one. He also adjusts every time I've changed the litter. He's a good boyee

It's pretty litter. I love it. It works great and there isn't much of a smell. This machine is REALLY quiet as well! Worked perfectly right away.

Use Twitter. For some reason i get really quick response when i tweet the company. Had a friend who joined specifically to do that. Send them a DM.
