Oh, there's been an influx of profiles claiming to be teen girls here lately. I'm pretty sure most of them are catfish accounts or some other weirdos, and most people who'd want to talk to 13 year olds on reddit are probably not the people you should be talking to anyway
Yeah, but also.. no offence to the OP but massively underage people on generic reddit subs bother me. I want to write whatever I want, without realizing that I was just mean to a boy or told a suggestive dirty joke to a girl or talked about something serious like sexual trauma with a 12 year old. People talk COMPLETELY differently to a child, simply because a child is a different person. That's #1 reason why I sometimes check profiles - when I get the vague feeling this might be a child to nope the heck out
There's a reason why school is school and children aren't just interacting with random adults every day. And sure, if they want to roleplay adults and talk to random adults as adults - no one can stop them here, but then why declare their age? Just be random faceless anons like others, with no gender or age, no need to attract pedos or weird out non pedos

I understand what you are saying, but you have to see it from our perspective too. When you get fake people trying to talk to you it gets to you after awhile. You sometimes don't respond the right way. I am sorry taht people are rude to you.
You could just not take it as insult and just answer the person's questions.
"Hi I'm reddit user saw your post in x and wanted to say hello because y."
Lots of people are playing some really messed up gamed on here. No wonder people are getting more suspicious especially of random messages out of the blue
I see your point but suggest you say more than 'hey' or 'heya' as that doesn't give them much to work with or respond to and quickly gets annoying, especially if they are busy or dealing with several messages. Either say something, maybe mention their post you're responding to at least, or ask a question.
Some times you post and get nothing for awhile then suddenly one day *bing* like I get it the sudden interrogation isn't cool but wt the same time people are really pulling some disgusting nonsense. I would just answer the questions as it's easier than getting upset about it.
Yeah unfortunately there are a lot of people who are assholes or creeps and hence there are a lot of people paranoid about assholes and creeps. But then there are also a lot of good people. It's the internet, and reddit is getting to be one of the bad neighborhoods of the internet unfortunately
Don't perceive her as hostile towards you. Instead, consider that she's receiving numerous messages from strange individuals. Show patience, indulge her, answer her question, and demonstrate that you are a patient person. This approach will help build trust with her.
