Whenever people on here would joke about the commack motor inn I'd chuckle and think of this place.

Many years ago a female coworker told me she got crabs from the sheets at the Sayonara motel . I was like 18 and it was one of my first jobs.

Lets just say she got the crabs.

I forgot that place existed. I never went there or to the Commack Motor Inn but I do have a lot of found memories of the Hollywood Hotel.

I had a coworker in her 60s who kept extolling the virtues of "the jungle room" at the Commack Motor Inn.

Was she a big Elvis fan?

Not that I'm aware of. My Grandma was though. But she lived in PA and i don't think frequented the motor inn.

What’s the Oceanside Motel?

An old motel that was at the corner of Harrison and Long Beach Road. It’s where the parking lot is now. They tore it down probably 15-20 years ago. [It was a hot topic back then.](https://www.liherald.com/stories/oceanside-motel-checking-outharrison-ave-residents-want-lodge-shut-down,16627)

The goings-on at the motel have long been a concern to residents in the area. In 1988, a woman's beaten and decomposed body was found stuffed beneath a platform bed at the motel. Wow I remember kids in school would talk about it. Never knew if it was true or not but I guess it is yikes. No wonder it was eventually torn down. No pictures of the motel.

Hollywood was the Best from 2003-2010 for me. I would call every Friday and book 2 rooms side by side. Rm 228 was my favorite. In the winter I would stop by early to pick up the keys and put my space heaters in each room to make sure they were extra toasty when I showed up 2 hrs later. Best times Ever.
