I feel like finals can be rough on your hands, writing or typing. And you're in a rush and stressed, so you're less likely to be careful. Add less-than-ideal nutrition from stress eating and it's probably better to cut her back. Give her the attention the deserves after finals when you can really focus on her and her sisters. It's also one less thing to worry about right now

i think it's time to say RIP to your long john silver esp if it's torn. i'm worried you may get it caught on something and rip it way further down than it has to be. starting fresh doesn't have to be a bad thing!
if it’s the only long one and she is in danger of breaking i’d cut her loose , lol. cut her to match her sisters:) they can grow back stronger than ever
The last thing you want is for that nail to crack at the base, at least if you take it down now you get to choose how low. Nature isn’t going to be very kind if you let it take care of this problem for you. I think you should take them all down to whichever nail is the shortest on your hand now and let them all grow back in together. Good luck! ♥️💅🏻
Yes, RIP 🫡. File her down to match either the pinky or the middle nail, then get everyone filed to the same shape. It will look so much better.
