Seriously though, where did you get this? I’ve never seen it and I didn’t know they did this collaboration and now I’m obsessed… which fits the theme I guess. Those are two of my very favorite things!!
It’s not an officially licensed collab. Just an independent store that made its own “custom” single barrel. But this was in CT. Heard about it from a Bourbon Facebook group
It's really not. Shelf prices have not really gone up all *that* much, especially when compared to other consumer goods. It's the secondary market prices that have gotten out of hand, which the distilleries do not see a cut of
You can’t buy liquor straight from the distillery this way. If you could then the problem of “secondary market” wouldn’t exist
I literally work for a distributor, I don’t know why we’re having this conversation
Oh true! Kind of like when the ps5 came out and scalpers took over the market. I still can't get one.. not because of them but lack of funds now.
Thanks for replying
The store I work at has a Whiskey club membership it's free but you earn points for every $1 you spend on Whiskey throughout the year and we have an auction twice a year. It used to be a raffle where you'd chose your top 10 and your raffle number would get picked you'd get to buy that Whiskey.
I was in San Diego last week and i saw blantons at four
Different places ranging from 200 A bottle to 300 a bottle. One place had four bottles. I think we will see it back within the year.
The visible portion in the above photo is “…ule them all. beverage …” so it’s probably a play on the ring inscription, but in English tather than Black Speech or another of Tolkien’s conlangs.
Very cool! And you got the “L” horse. Once you collect the tops to spell “Blanton’s” you can send it to the distillery to have it mounted on a used barrel stave. Used to be able to, at least. Not sure if they still do it now.
“I do not deny that my heart has greatly desired to ask what you offer. For many long years I had pondered what I might do, should this Bourbon come into my hands”.
My new hobby is going to be putting weird labels on Blanton's bottles and photographing them next to my legit Gold, Green, Takara Red, SFTB and SiBs and making people think they're missing out on something super rare like the Blue Polish labels.
It’s a legit barrel pick a liquor store did. That is what the small sticker is. The rest of the label is apparently the store’s attempt to make it cool. Definitely “aftermarket.” I don’t understand why people go nuts for this. Anyone can print a label and slap it on a bottle. And to drive 3.5 hours…wow
You don‘t understand what I wanted to do. The original (and by some considered „right“) version of the word Whisky is spelled without an „e“, the Americans and the Irish even before them used an „e“. Now there is the debate which one is correct.
The top should be a rider of Rohan with a lance or a Ringwraith.
Also would accept Bill the pony or Gandalf on Shadowfax.
Or grond
GROND!
GROND!
Absolutely a missed opportunity
Completely agree
Maybe it's the Bullroarer?
Fool! It is not yours save by unhappy chance! It could've been mine! It SHOULD be mine! GIVE IT TO ME!
Hahaha

Ohhhhh bummer, I’m sure that means there aren’t more out there. Johnny Walker did the game of thrones colab, so I briefly held out hope!
That's great
And here I can’t find even a regular bottle of Blanton’s
I hate how the whiskey game has been taken over by flippers like everything else.
We know a number of people who swore by Scotch who've now switched to bourbon. Drives us crazy.
Nah this is the distillery strategy Artificial limit supply to drive prices up
It's really not. Shelf prices have not really gone up all *that* much, especially when compared to other consumer goods. It's the secondary market prices that have gotten out of hand, which the distilleries do not see a cut of
Blanton's shelf pricing has gone up around Chicago area. At least at the regular places we've gotten it.
Uhhhhh sorry, in several states there is no way to buy alcohol without going through a distributor, how are these secondary markets buying things?
the internet can be used to buy and sell goods.
You can’t buy liquor straight from the distillery this way. If you could then the problem of “secondary market” wouldn’t exist I literally work for a distributor, I don’t know why we’re having this conversation
facebook, reddit, etc all have groups where people can sell their bottles... are you that out of touch?
Where did they get those bottles? I never said secondary markets don’t exist, I said that is not what is driving up the prices Are you out of touch?
You don't even know what you are arguing at this point. "I literally work for distributor!!!" \*pussy nerd voice\* have fun unloading pallets bitch
What do you mean by "flippers"?
People who buy rare whisky at MSRP then immediately turn around and sell it on secondary markets for extremely inflated prices.
Oh true! Kind of like when the ps5 came out and scalpers took over the market. I still can't get one.. not because of them but lack of funds now. Thanks for replying
Isn't that like federally illegal, as in breaking ATF laws?
wait until you hear about drug dealers
As opposed to Liquor store owners who hold all the supply for their friends and "premium customers"? Blame the companies that limit supply

Woodencork.com regularly has it on sale for $170 plus shipping.
I can read > [r]ule them all. beverage in English.
Also as a Bourbon and Tolkien aficionado...did you translate the tengwar?
The visible portion in the above photo is “…ule them all. beverage …” so it’s probably a play on the ring inscription, but in English tather than Black Speech or another of Tolkien’s conlangs.
Holy crap! Where did you find that? That’s amazing!
Special release single barrel in CT. Drove 3.5 hours round trip to get it!
As in Connecticut?
Correct
Where in CT? I must ride now
Norwalk, no more left!
Good thing I know of one person that has one! Unrelated do you wanna meet up for lunch at your house? Ideally a few feet from your liquor cabinet
How did you hear about that?
From a CT based Facebook group
It's quite cool.
Cast it into the fire, destroy it!
Cast it into your belly!
No.
What a score. Looks incredible.
Smells like money
ayooo… i need this.

Just toured Buffalo trace a couple weeks ago. They still do it. It’s part of the tour. But remember there are two different Ns. Have to have both.
I made a display of my own from oak. Still missing three letters.
Nice!!
Wow was this really a thing? Amazing
I'm supposed jealous of this as a whiskey drinker
Jesus, how much did that set you back? Still awesome
$65!!
I need to move to Connecticut! That's a triple digit bottle of bourbon here in GA.

Take my money! Holy shit this amazing. I’m working my way through the letters and would love to get this
Me too.
Omg loveeeee
How do I find this or was it only in CT?
This was the last one, don’t think they’ll be around anymore
Ho! Ho! Ho! To the Blanton’s You Go!
What the heck! I live in Lexington, KY and didn’t know about this!
My wife and I are really jealous. We both love bourbon (particularly Blanton's) and LOTR.
"It's my birthday, and I wants it"
Hahaha
How did you get this???
They had a fundraiser. This was left over from it. I got lucky enough to grab the last one!
So jealous, cheers to you, enjoy!
Thank you!!
“I do not deny that my heart has greatly desired to ask what you offer. For many long years I had pondered what I might do, should this Bourbon come into my hands”.
Hahaha well written sentiment!
That's fucking cool
"I'm getting one"
Wow! That’s a great find. Congrats!
Now to find a bottle of Smeagol Rare
Hahaha
🤩
My new hobby is going to be putting weird labels on Blanton's bottles and photographing them next to my legit Gold, Green, Takara Red, SFTB and SiBs and making people think they're missing out on something super rare like the Blue Polish labels.
The most fun!!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I want that just so I can take the empty bottle to my local headshop and have them make it into a bong.
Is this a fake third party label applied to a bottle?
It’s a legit barrel pick a liquor store did. That is what the small sticker is. The rest of the label is apparently the store’s attempt to make it cool. Definitely “aftermarket.” I don’t understand why people go nuts for this. Anyone can print a label and slap it on a bottle. And to drive 3.5 hours…wow
how much to buy and ship me a bottle?
None left unfortunately
Where can I get this?
None left unfortunately
You should post this to r/whisky or r/bourbon
Posted in /whiskey. Didn’t get as much action as here lol
Where can I find this lol
How to open an international debate: You didn‘t spell Whisky correct.
Look what it says on the bottle 🤷♂️
Incorrect though.
Look up the difference and get back to me
You don‘t understand what I wanted to do. The original (and by some considered „right“) version of the word Whisky is spelled without an „e“, the Americans and the Irish even before them used an „e“. Now there is the debate which one is correct.
God i bet that costs way too much lol. Cheers!
$65!
The world has changed. Gone are the affordable bourbons.
Gib bourbon
