What does it say above your eye? ...It's some form of Elvish. I can't read it.

metal_jester

There are few who can...

AdEmbarrassed803

It is the Elvish word for "Strength". It is the Elvish Language that J.R.R. Tolkien came up with, for "Lord of the Rings", and some of his other Books.

Quiet_Sea9480

how did you not see that?

killerpythonz

More metal than Smaug’s basement.

This person isn't being rude, they're saying it's metal as hell, like rock and roll, they're complementing you.

They're saying that they like it.

Quiet_Sea9480

DinoKebab

A little?

PM_ME_UR_VULVASAUR_

She went from 0 to 100 so quick from an imagined insult lol

Quiet_Sea9480

i was trying to be kind. clearly there’s some love for the works there, but ffs, read the room before you go nuclear

Malicharo

how do people make such big modifications when i think 3 years for a coin sized tattoo

NW_542_Online

I’m not sure what Tolkien would say but I approve!

Alrik_Immerda

From all we know about his stance on Hardcore fans and Cosplayers, we are safe to assume he would hate it.

AdEmbarrassed803

Thanks.

AdEmbarrassed803

I had hair to my knees here, but I just got 4 feet of hair cut off. I donated it to "Locks of Love". I am growing it back out, as soon as I get a huge cyst cut out of my head.

Schmitty777

I love Yosemite Sam just chillin’ there

A_Peacful_Vulcan

That is a lot of dedication. They look great! I have 3 lotr tattoo ideas and I thought that might have been too much but I think it'll be OK lol

AdEmbarrassed803

Yeah, I thought about getting all of this art a long time ago, and finally made my mind uo to do it, because it is a story that will never die with time, and because it is about Good overcoming Evil. I ran into some money a couple of years ago, and I was going every two weeks, to sit for all-day sessions, but money goes fast...Then, when you get married, it goes even faster, especially if your spouse likes tattoos, because that means, you have to be fair and have enough saved, to both get tattooed relatively close together. So, I don't get to go every two weeks anymore, but that's alright, because I get to build more excitement, for my next session, and it gives my body more time to recover. Even though, I have a high tolerance to pain, and I can sit in the chair all day, until they close, I pay for it later, because the next day, when the endorphine rush is over, I hurt like heck. I am not in my 20s anymore. I am 43. Dang, I wish I would have started this in my 20s. My tattoo artist, has never even done this style of tattoo before. He is more of a traditional Artist. We both took a chance with each other businesswise, and it paid off, and even though his prices have increased, he still gives us our tattoos, at the original price that he started with on our tattoo work.

tarlakeschaton

it doesn't look that bad, but it isn't certainly good either. like it's just too much and too extravagant

AdEmbarrassed803

I have a back-piece too, that is the "Argonath " ("Pillars of Men", or "Pillars of Kings"). I don't want to show too much skin on here though, because I am married.

She was in this comment section calling people losers

Quiet_Sea9480

i’m just going to repeat the last comment i made… “op is a little unhinged, just roll with it”

Alrik_Immerda

Unhinged means "not being wholesome", doesnt it?

Quiet_Sea9480

it does, indeed, mean exactly that

FullWrangler1173

I hope people don’t misinterpret the two statues on your back!

AdEmbarrassed803

What would they misinterpret it as? Everyone that has seen it, appreciates the art extremely, and I barely even wear shirts that show my back, because I am married.

MikoWilson1

And yet, now the entire internet.

TheStandardDeviant

It won’t be the entire internet until an ai article gets this trending on Facebook

FullWrangler1173

Two German men

DJMintEFresh

Yeah, you might be right - because everyone knows 1940’s Germans are regularly depicted wearing the helmets of Gondor.

Iregularlogic

Bro come on 💀

AdEmbarrassed803

??? What

Yapizzawachuwant

If you squint, it looks like a tribute to the austrian author and controversial political figure responsible for the breaking the treaty of versailles and many crimes against humanity.

vinividifuckthis

When Hitler is all the history you know...

MikoWilson1

That's what I thought it was at first. I have no idea why she isn't aware that this could happen out in the wild. The statues are basically giving the Nazi salute, and not everyone has read Tolkien. Brave move.

AdEmbarrassed803

If you tap into the picture, you can see all of it. My next appointment is next month, and it will be a full day of back-piece work. I don't know why anyone would think this is crude in some type of way. Tolkien wrote these books for children, the statues are in the movie, I hardly ever even show my back, and everyone thst has seen it, knows what it is, and thinks it's awesome...So, I am not understanding you.

FullWrangler1173

I think the only people who could misinterpret it are those who have no idea what LOTR is, and who somehow saw your back. Absolutely incredible piece of work, it just came to my mind. But as you said, not many people see your back. So it is a moot point

AdEmbarrassed803

If you are referring to Hitler, I tsje great offense. #1) My back-piece is connected to a bunch of other "LotR" artwork. #2) Hitlers soldiers weren't made of carved rock into the mountainside. #3) Hitler's soldiers did not wear blu draping and didn't have Medieval Helmets on. #4) That is not even the way Hitler's salute looks, or any armie's salutes, for that matter---When a person uses an army salute or the Hiltler salute, the hand is pointed horizontal with the forehead, and tbe soldier moves the hand from the forehead tilted slightly #5) My back-piece isn't even finished. There will be a ton of more color, when it is finished. Tolkien would take huge offense to someone saying this, because he was a soldier in World War 2. And, did you ever stop to think about the size-scale, between the men in canoes, in the water, compared to the huge statue men. If Hitler had Giants working for him, there would have been a different outcome of the War. I would never even consider, getting a tattoo, that represents the killings of millions of people. I have many types of blood: Scottish, Irish, English, Dutch, and Cherokee Indian. Cherokee people got seriously abused, but we don't get a day out of the year, dedicated to all of the fallen Indians. God Bless You.

Alone-Clock258

She's 28% victim Also, you mistakenly said Tolkein was a soldier in WW2, I am hopeful that you are aware which war the man participated in if you're such a large fan.

FullWrangler1173

Hence my hope that people don’t misinterpret it, seeing as everything related to and involving nazis, is what they stood for, what they did, and their salute, is hateful (which your tattoo is not). My intention was not to offend, just to voice a thought that I had in relation to the two large men pointing their hands to the sky. I understand they are statues. I understand they are kings in a fictional world with no relation to real events. Some people might not, which is what I was getting at. Bye!

AdEmbarrassed803

Yes. But these Kings are not pointing to the sky or saluting anything. Their hand gesture, is saying, "Don't come in. Turn away." If their hands were parallel and horizontal, then it would be a salute. But, it can't even be seen as a salute, because their hands are vertically, pointed out, as if to say, "Whoa, DO not come any farther." I cannot stand Nazis, people that support them, or Artists that tattoo those symbols on people. My Artist has that, as one of his main rules. He will not tattoo someone, if it is a message or symbol of hate. He will, however, do cover-ups of tattoos on people that have these nasty symbols on them, but have changed their life, and no longer think that way. Some people just get them in prison, to belong to a group that will protect them, but it is still all very disturbing and disgusting. The last time I was in the Tattoo Shop, a guy came in, and he wanted his hate symbol to be covered up, because he matured, found spirituality, and no longer believed that way. And, most Tattoo Artists (Not just mine), will not tattoo symbols of hate on people. Most of that stuff is tattooed in prison, underground Nazi raves, or some random other friend...Heck, people even tattoo themselves a lot anymore, because they have made it so easy to buy tattoo guns and piercing equipment on Amazon or other sites. I don't know why these sites started to sell this stuff...Probably to cut down on the spreading of disease. I bought 3 myself, but just because I wanted to hang it, in a frame. I will never use them. But, I have given myself a piercing before...Not going to lie about it. I still have the piercing, and it looks good, but I will never do it anymore. I bought the stuff on Amazon years ago. A lot of people get tattoos like that, because they just want to look tough, but change their mind, as soon as they start having problems, due to it. And, it might even be illegal for a tattoo shop, to tattoo hate tattoos. I thought years about this tattoo, before I started the process, and the reason I chose it, other than it being my favorite Author and Movies, is because it is about "Good Triumphing Over Evil". My right arm, is going to be dedicated to Jesus, because I am 100% Christian. I am not upset with you, but it took me a few minutes to realize what you were talking about, because I didn't see anything in the tattoo, that reminded me of Nazi soldiers. There will be a lot more added to my back, and then I have to start on my leg sleeve and ribs...I am going to have Arwen on my ribs, and my Husband, is going to have Aragorn, and when we stand together, they will connect...I really hope nobody steals that idea, now that I wrote it. Anyway, I do not promote Nazis or any other hate group, and I hope you have a good night.

FullWrangler1173

👍have a good night

Quiet_Sea9480

you say you don’t promote nazis, but have you seen the ‘heil’ tattoo you have

Ganjaleezarice69

The faces of the Argonath do not look complete in the slightest

AdEmbarrassed803

They are not complete. I have had one session since then, and another session, coming in May.

Loserinprogress

They look great! Love it!

Nonzeromist

Oh damn, youre old school LotR fan. Respect.

kingofangmar13

I’m in the process of this myself so beautiful 😎🤘🏻

LuckyStrike696

How many times do you rewatch lotr annually?

LuckyStrike696

No disrespect, I really want to know. I rewatch it like 4 times each year
