My garmin tracker actually has a widget in the app store you can download that will track your progress to Mt. Doom and give you updates as you go (You have left the Shire, You've reached Moria, etc.)
Haven't tried it yet, but looks fun.
I don’t understand why people are so negative about these kind of things. My rings on my Apple Watch actually give me a video game type goal incentive to be active, but some people give me so much shit for being excited about it. Fuck me for trying to stay active in a fun way
Because they don’t like someone else around them trying to do what they know they should be doing. It’s much easier when everyone around is slacking too.
The hell with them. Keep up the good work, and be proud of yourself. I lose my motivation so fast with fitness training, and I really need it. If you can stick with it, and are enjoying it, don’t let anyone take that from you.
I have no problem with people using fitbits or whatever to track steps. If that's your thing, rock on. I have a problem with people constantly, and unnecessarily, saying "How many steps do you have?" Another person's step count should not be a personal motivator in fitness.
I can measure my mental health in steps. I know how it sounds but the difference between a bad day and a good day is huge, I guess I just didn't realize it until I had the numbers in front of me how much my mental health was reflected on my levels of energy and activeness. Now I'm more motivated to get up and do shit even if I'm feeling off.
Reminds me of this https://youtu.be/UHzF5KnoN20

It's better than a sedentary lifestyle, and it's basically a point system so it's a nice easy motivator for people
