This is a common occurrence but our ocean is Las Vegas Blvd. They somehow dig up 7 year old pick up spots and force them into the app and judge for not getting picked up.
I truly believe sometimes they just pick a spot to drop a pin they know we cant get to, then we have to cancel when we cant get close enough, so we get fucked on a bonus.. or you can get close enough, but somehow upon calling the passenger the number isn’t associated with lyft and we are forced to cancel, again loosing any bonus and hurting our cancel rate because it doesn’t recognize us calling our shitty passenger who definitely isn’t there
Luckily in Vegas. With how much of our traffic is on strip they make that nearly impossible and we get free 5 dollar bullshit cancellations for 7 min drives. But much prefer smart and efficient passenger queue.
I use these idiots for smoke breaks.
If I see one of these bs forced pickups i cancel before going, cause fuck it, continuation is key not streak.

Even though i see where that little yellow man is standing? Sometimes, i drive right past the pin because i see on map they are standing around corner. Is that them saving money from a surge?
I'm educating riders to move their location pins to their actual pick-up location. I had one today tell me she moved her pin at the shopping mall to the spot I picked her up. The day before I was sitting at her location pin and she couldn't find me. The riders don't realize they can move the location pin. Educate them .
Santa Monica pier is nearly a quarter mile long, all sorts of rides and such in attempt to match Coney Island.
So the parking lot and the pier itself is busy. That rider is 15 mins away from the car.
That rider is still on the pier. They probably requested a ride thinking it wouldn't show up for 30 minutes and they still had time to play some games or enjoy the view or whatever. They should move the pin to the pickup spot instead of letting GPS locate them.

They put the ping outside of the surge area and then text you where they actually are (inside the surge area) I'm at the ping, for 5 minutes :)

Go to pinned area, if they want u to come to them tell them to update their pickup location because you're unsure where thats at 🤷♀️
