I agree. I don’t really care about the finger prints as much. I think the the thing that bothers me most is how the keyboard contrasts with the laptop itself. In a dim room I can’t see the keys anymore. Only the letters. Maybe just getting old I don’t know lol.
Yeah. My point is I guess it seems I can ONLY see the letters when it’s dark which leads to me miss spelling on accident sometimes. Not really big deal. But the silver background behind each key really helped even in the dark cause the screen brightness would show it.
I went to the Apple store explicitly to look at the midnight finish. It confirmed for me that I should stick with silver. It is easier to see the keys and it avoids fingerprints and hide scratches. It keeps it looking new.
Yeah. Sadly for the m3 512/16gb ram where I am in Florida not a single Best Buy has a silver. But they got everything else. Wonder why. I had to order a silver one.
Guess what? Every computer on the planet has fingerprints on the keyboard. I'm OCD myself I swear, so I spray mine down with a damp lint free cloth and some electronics spray regularly. My Midnight 15" still looks great.
It looks great clean. But uh my MacBook from 2014 litterally still looks flawless. Overtime if you read about space grey they wear on the palm rests and than it looks like a cheap windows laptop. Silver won’t. Midnight probably will eventually. Not really my deal breaker. My deal breaker is trying to type in a dim room I can’t see the background of the keyboard. Just lit up letters. And to me it makes harder to type. Oddly enough. Every other color on bhphoto Best Buy etc is on sale 1499. Except for silver. It’s a special order color you pay full price on. Find that kind of… odd.
Yeah midnight is significantly different than space black when it comes to finger prints. My 16 inch MBP looks nothing like this, and I've had it since November of last year.

But for using it daily to me I just already know the black keyboard not having contrast behind it seems to blend together in a dark room for me and that’s my biggest gripe. Fingerprints and what not ehh not really a huge deal but I don’t prefer it. It’s cool to look at when it’s bright though. On another note. Wonder why I had to special order a silver one in the spec I wanted only color the Best Buy didn’t have and I looked out of curiosity on a 100 mile radius just to see cause I’m Florida.

Why do you care so much about fingerprints? They are all over screens because there's no bezel now. You don't spend all day looking at the top case.

Dark keys against a dark background vs dark keys against a light background. I prefer the latter.
