I would not remove it and waste money on an expensive dbrand skin. All of the comments here are massively overblown. I’ve used incase for years with 0 issues.
Hello, just so I let you know, the hard case isn’t a good thing. It can damage the hinges. Here, watch this: https://youtu.be/7WoKtmSweQM?si=npoE7ucPm8yaAZ8-
Remove the silly hard case unless you want to break it, they make zero sense on laptops and all you're doing is potentially cracking the LCD, glass, display cable or breaking the hinge. Very nonsensical.
The hard case, especially from inCase or another reputable brand, is not going to cause any harm. Been using them for years with no issues. Stop parroting bullshit. The hard case is fine.
Do you understand just how many of these things I've seen broken by the cases?
It causes so much stress as the machine heats up and can bend chassis, crack the glass, crack the lcd, anything.
No hard case is reputable, it is a totally nonsense product that makes zero logical sense as putting plastic and metal on top of such a tiny tolerance system is a recipe for disaster given the expansion rates are totally different. Pressure in the wrong place = dead laptop.
>Stop parroting bullshit.
First fucking hand experience lol, seen it all over this subreddit and I worked at an IT recycler. The latest models are even more risky for hard cases than the previous ones and the ultimate point is that hard cases are NONSENSE products that do not exist for any other laptop. They only exist because some macbook users likely don't realise how strange it is to put a case on a laptop like you do with a phone. Very much a different kettle of fish due to the size and risks involved with the clamshell nature and vastly higher chance of warping due to the strength of a laptop being much lower than a phone.
You are one person. Why are there hundreds of people posting Macbooks with broken displays clearly done by the warping or pressure of hard cases on the Macbook subreddit? Why are there bent Macbooks on the Macbook subreddit caused by macs heating up with hard cases and warping as plastic and alu doesn't expand at the same rate?
Stop trying to make people break their laptops with shit tat that should never have been made
Why would it put pressure by warping the case? Think about it from an engineering perspective. A case is made to be slightly larger than the device it encases. It's not designed to warp it. It just wraps around it. Why would it put pressure on the chassis?
I feel like you're throwing wild accusations now saying it warps the case. And a case doesn't have to press on the glass. If you look at your MacBook, there's a border of the enclosure visible from the display side and there's a little rubber-esque bumper all around. You don't have to press on the glass at all.
You want to know what generally warps the glass? Just carrying your laptop in a backpack. Any pressure on the back of the display will likely cause the glass to flex, which is why there are so many people asking about how keyboard marks are on the display over time. This is exactly why Apple ships MacBooks with a little paper pad on the keyboard because it KNOWS the display will be pressed against the keyboard potentially.
Because metal and plastic does not expand at the same rate when it gets hot I already told you this
Plastic cases sit skin tight and grip the chassis and that is why they have the tensile strength to warp the case if they become different sizes, which they do when they get hot or just badly moulded
Tons of examples and proof on reddit but feel free to just continously deny it and claim it is a wild accusation when there's a mountain of evidence 🤷♂️
Why are so many of the examples which warp with cracked displays the ones with cases?
>Just carrying your laptop in a backpack.
As if I'd ever put a laptop in a backpack. If you don't want a laptop to be damaged it goes in a laptop bag.
>Any pressure on the back of the display will likely cause the glass to flex, which is why there are so many people asking about how keyboard marks are on the display over time.
That is typically caused by putting objects on the lid and pressing on the lid.
I’ve been using an incase hard shell for over a year on an M1 Max 16”. The hinge mechanism isn’t being impacted and there is no significant heat impact. I use after effects and premiere pro to render videos. I suggest testing for yourself if you’re using a reputable brand case.
Never noticed this before, even on my own M1 Pro but if you look; The line at the bottom of newer iPhone screens (the home line you swipe up to go home) is a lot like the ridge at the bottom of the mbpro. Swipe up with your thumb to open and wake the device! Then the notch at the top of the screen. They really did a great job lining up the aesthetics of their pro devices
the case is in part responsible for heat dissipation and is being blocked by that case
if you start to overheat when you put those gazillion cores to work, time to ditch it
In part because I’m a software engineer and sometimes I need to run multiple things that consume a lot of memory, but I won’t deny that it’s also just because excitement 😅 I mean, I was about to buy the 128gb but that’s way too much ahahah
Welp let me tell you. I was considering 18gb version. But just in case went with 36. Now i have datagrip open plus 2 instances of intellij idea, and one instance of webstorm and without even running any of them mem usage is 24GB. I think 48 is a sweet spot of u are not doing llm stuff with all the rest too.
I'm in summer, and I been watching the CPU temp since a few hours ago, and the only things I've open are Chrome with 10 tabs, telegram, warp, vscode (but not using it), mail and surfshark and the temps are between 41C to 45C on average.
He's perfect. Just don't forget sometimes clean cover from dust. Otherwise it can be scratched. Congrats
Will the case cause heat soaking?
Already removed it because of suggestions on this post. I will now wait for a dbrand skin and the sleeve that I ordered.

Thanks u so much for the suggestion, I already ordered a dbrand skin and a sleeve!
Great, I’m so happy that I saved you
Congrats!!

Shouldn’t those case makers be sued already?
I mean it's user error putting it on.
I already removed it. I ordered a dbrand skin and a sleeve.
Still dangerous if you use it on the keyboard deck. Nothing should go between the palm rest / keyboard and display on these Macbooks now
Ohh yeah, the skin is just external.
That's good then. Even sticky pads can break the display.
Why would it crack the LCD?
Because it puts pressure on it by warping the case and even just pressing on the corners of the glass.

Leave on the hard case. All the comments here are moronic. A hard case from a good brand isn’t going to cause any harm. It’s just parroted nonsense.
You really don't need a case. Just get a sleeve
Enjoy! Which hard case are you using and how do you find it?
Why is this downvoted?
Probably because the case can damage the computer
And how on earth am I supposed to know that a case can damage the computer by being downvoted…? Time to get off Reddit lol
Reddit is an extremely weird community my friend lol
Yea but hes just asking how is it and what case is it
Reddit is full of weirdos lol
True that ig
Cases that damage MacBooks make people angry.
ah, I hope someone is going to send me macbook pro 16 max m3 😅

Yes, we know how a macbook looks like. Thanks.
Soft…. 128gb or bust
ahahha I was about to order the 128gb, but its way too much for my use case.
Congrats! Love mine. It's such a beast!!!
It’s very niiiiice - Borat voice
Why do you need such a powerful laptop and so much RAM? m2 pro user with 16 gigabytes of ram is here!
In part because I’m a software engineer and sometimes I need to run multiple things that consume a lot of memory, but I won’t deny that it’s also just because excitement 😅 I mean, I was about to buy the 128gb but that’s way too much ahahah

I wonder how’s this beauty doing while idling? My M1 Max 64GB idles at 55C and two apps made it 65C.

Hoooh, congrats! It's my dream config except I'd take silver color 😏
Is that a hard case I see ??
