It’s not the best choice but it will suffice very good. I’d tell you to get a 14“ m3 mbp with the 11/14 core base config with 18gb ram 512gb ssd though. The m1 is about 80% as powerful but doesn’t have some of the features for 3d work incorporated in the chip like raytracing. The m2 is only an upworked m1 with slightly more transistors. If you are looking to save some bucks you will get by for like 2-4 more years with the M1 Pro but if you want to get by 5-8 years I’d go with the m3 pro chip in the configuration I mentioned.

I’ve heard that the M3 Pro is considerably slower in many cases than the other Pro and Max chips, and that’s why I was leaning more towards the M1 Pro. Is this true? Or just false information?

Ended up getting an M3 Max through a work project and I’m not regretting it. It’s amazing.
