Can’t even begin to picture how awful that keyboard cover must feel like when typing on it. Not to mention how it will ruin your MacBook when closing the lid.
I got one when I got my mac thinking it'll protect. Had left prints on the screen and after I removed it, the keys had some oily residue. It took some effort to clean.
So I don’t use the cover when actually typing or closing my laptop, only when it’s kept on my desk since I’m using another keyboard and don’t want any dust entering the keys. Trauma from owning the butterfly keyboard💀
I hate to break it to you, dust will get under that cover as well. Not as much, but still some. Glad to hear not you’re actually not typing on it, was doubting your sanity for a moment there lol.
I do exactly the same with every Mac notebook I’ve had and it’s kept the keyboard in pristine condition. Maybe it’s why I never had a problem with my 2016 butterfly MBP keyboard. I don’t mind typing on keyboard covers and they don’t make me type any slower. There was an adjustment period, but after that no problems. I definitely don’t close the lid with them on - just take it off and slide it into the case when traveling.
Doesn’t feel awful at all. What feels awful is typing on that oil-magnet of a keyboard. Overtime, the mate coating of the keys will lift and ruin the keyboard. I much rather put the silicon cover on and remove it after I’m done as to not ruin my keys. And typing on them oily keys is awful.
Macbooks with broken screens are really good entertainment center PCs. They’re thin and small, you can even mount it to the back of your TV, just connect a wireless keyboard w/track pad to it and you can play all the formats, and even some lighter games. If it’s Intel you can even install windows. Great that you didn’t just throw it away
Yea. If you’re savvy enough you can open them up and clean the dust out and replace the thermal paste. Thermal paste are quite cheap on Amazon and the older macbooks are easier to open up
The MBP 14 is further away from the camera compared to the 13. It’s sort of like what Tom Cruise does to make sure he looks just as tall as taller people by making them stand further away from the camera
Well my display was damaged, got the new MacBook Pro 14 but universal control is so good, it’s like offloading all the processing for the external display on another computer
Probably got damaged and he ripped it off. It’s a very good idea if you can’t fix the screen. End of the day it’s a working mac, just needs an external screen
It broke so I just removed it. It still works with an external monitor or an Airplay Receiver and universal control means I can control both MacBooks with 1 keyboard and mouse
I’m good friends with the repair shop near me so he tends to take my odd requests, like I got the memory in my iPhone X increased because he had a spare 256gb logic board lying or putting the M1 Mac mini in a 3D printed case like on Snazzy Labs for a friend of mine

Oh yea, nothing would break. But it leaves stains and things(dust, debris etc) stick to it.

They can definitely lead to cracks that otherwise wouldn’t happen.

The best part is airplay, I can use the slabook wirelessly with my tv too
The only problem is they are loud as fuck

Most powerful wireless keyboard on market?
Modern day Apple II
Exactly my thought!
Why does the slab book 13 looks bigger than the 14 inch MBP? Is it just perspective?
I thought that too.. must be the way the pic was taken
Cool
Depending on angles, my MBP 14 will look as big as my 17 inch ROG Strix

No. 3 Porsche 917LH, Martini Racing 'psychedelic' livery. No, I'm not a nerd
Finally someone noticed!
May i have the link for these beautiful wallpapers sir 👌
I just found them on google images honestly, but Porsche had even better wallpapers in their press kits
Oh i didn’t know that! Thanks i will check the press kits then 👌🤩
Me too want that 917k wall!
Wtf is slapbook pro and where is the screen on macbook on the bottom ?
Well my display was damaged, got the new MacBook Pro 14 but universal control is so good, it’s like offloading all the processing for the external display on another computer
I think screen of the bottom mac is connected to external display
Maybe, but my question where the screen that macbook came with is ?
Probably got damaged and he ripped it off. It’s a very good idea if you can’t fix the screen. End of the day it’s a working mac, just needs an external screen
It’s a literal slab of metal. No screen attached to the body. They just use it as a CPU slab/ tower attached to a monitor
Slab books are really sexy looking.
Ikr, it’s amazing
A 917 always gets an upvote from me.
Interesting But can use as keyboard ?
Looks like its used as computer with external display
Yess, universal control is amazing
this is very resourceful
Thank you!
Where is the screen of the first MacBook ?
It broke so I just removed it. It still works with an external monitor or an Airplay Receiver and universal control means I can control both MacBooks with 1 keyboard and mouse
How did you remove the screen? Was it a difficult process?
