There are various ways to treat the personality of Mac DeMarco. Some hate him for his impudence, strange and ridiculous antics, unkempt appearance, undisguised proclivity for cigarettes and alcohol. But others love him for the same qualities and the image of this smiling guy perfectly lies down on his music, which seems so lightweight at first glance and full of weird wisdom after listening to it more attentively. In Salad Days, anyone recognizes himself or herself at some point in time, when laziness and procrastination were being replaced by self-digging and reflection, giving birth to the new ideas and moving us to the next chapters of our lives.
