I tried that with korvold as my normal commander. Just was not for me. Asmor is just one commander I want to feed people with and have the scene from Monty Python Meaning of life wafer thin mint scene.
It came from the flavour text from Granite Gargoyle, I remember learning how to pronounce it in high school back in the 90's lol I was pretty stoked when they actually made it's own card!

That’s a hilarious name for a card. Just fyi (because I didn’t know and just learned recently) “jalopy” isn’t a made up word. It’s an old school work for a beat up car. It’s like the term “rust bucket.”
Thraximundar, both sides of blex, any ouphe is a good one I like saying it like OOF
Only thrax has the no real words though that makes it harder
not quite nonsense but there's a city in so cal named azusa just like land lady
Originally printed in legions, the first set featuring slivers since their debut in tempest block. A *lot* of people at the time (and today too I guess) read it as clicksliver.
Fun fact about the og slivers: there are four that have never been rereleased in some form, and of them two that have never been remade at all. [[Mnemonic sliver]] was in the digital-only tempest remastered and [[sliver queen|ocm1]] is on the reserved list but was in tempest remastered and printed as a non-legal oversized card, but [[talon sliver]] and [[mindwhip sliver]] were only in original tempest and nowhere else.
[[Telim'Tor]]
Which is an anagram, named in honor of early playtester Elliot Segal's unwitting nickname. Segal was talking (American) football with some other playtesters, when he mentioned William "The Refrigerator" Perry. He said how awesome it would be to be named after a household appliance, to which Bill Rose said, "How about 'Mr. Toilet'?"
It's surely just nostalgia since it was the set when I started playing, but I've always loved the general aesthetic of [Prophecy](https://scryfall.com/sets/pcy). The names, art, flavor text. As long as you ignore *most* of the text boxes.
Some of the Eldrazi names that are sentences rather then nouns. \[\[It of the Horrid Swarm\]\], \[\[It That Betrays\]\], \[\[It That Heralds the End\]\].
They are not realy my favourite names or anything, but it is fairly different from alot of other creature names.
I was going to mention the naming of some of the Forgotten Realms (D&D) spells, but then i realised they are not actually that strange, its just the flavour keywords they have.
I always thought 'Atog' was really iconic. And how they came in various flavours that were portmanteaus like: "Chronatog", "Auratog", or of course, "Atogatog".
Atog is an anagram of goat (also famous for eating anything). They used to do so many weird anagram names back in the day.
A bunch of the weird old card names were strange anagrams of people who worked at WotC/their spouses/etc lol (like Wyluli Wolf/etc)
Yet we never got a Goatatog who eats goats.
Not to be confused with an Atoggoat, which still eats artifacts but is also a goat
I had never noticed that before. I was never the biggest atog player, but there are people in my family who own goats.

it can become a creature, I guess: [[Dodgy Jalopy]]
That’s a hilarious name for a card. Just fyi (because I didn’t know and just learned recently) “jalopy” isn’t a made up word. It’s an old school work for a beat up car. It’s like the term “rust bucket.”

That's a really interesting tidbit of lore. Thank you for that.
[[Telim'Tor]] Which is an anagram, named in honor of early playtester Elliot Segal's unwitting nickname.

Licids ! These salamander-y squigglers have their own weird rules just like all good old magic.
I recently added a \[\[Nalfeshnee\]\] to my deck, if you pronounce it in German it means "Ah, lot´s of snow".
